Family-friendly holiday rentals in Prines

My friend and I stayed at the accommodation for 5 days and were very satisfied with our stay. The apartment is on the ground floor of a beautiful modern house. The apartment was very well equipped, there was nothing missing. The beautiful terrace with whirlpool is worth highlighting. The location is great. It is about 15 minutes by car to the center of Chania. Several beaches are within walking distance. The house itself is in a quiet location. It offers a good starting point for exploring Crete. Katerina and her husband are great hosts. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a fresh Greek salad, oranges, and wine. A few days later, we received fresh vegetables from the garden. Katerina was always available and very friendly. We felt very comfortable. Overall, we would recommend the accommodation! 5/5 stars!

It was super nice here. We were warmly welcomed and communication went smoothly. The place is as pictured. You're a bit up the mountain, which is super nice because it's much quieter there. The city and the beach are within walking distance. We were very satisfied.

Book this Airbnb. Do not think twice. Nice to be greeted with wine and snacks after the flight over. 3 styles of coffee makers with coffee. Sugar, spices, olive oil and balsamic to get you started. 4 bedroom 3 full baths. Great living and cooking areas. Very spacious for our group of 7. Clean and comfortable. Equipped with everything you could ask for. We made a few terrific meals with the grill and kitchen equipment. Harilao has put a lot of thought and planning in to his home. Gorgeous outdoor space with heated pool. Indoors is clean and uncluttered. The views are lovely. 1 minute on walk up the street to fresh bread daily and cute market. 3 minute walk down the street is a bigger market. 4 minute walk to my favorite beach. 8 Euro for 2 chairs and an umbrella. Bar right there if you want a drink. Walk to coffee, pastries, restaurants and bars near by. We loved the home and beach so much that we slipped a few day trips. 5 stars. I hope to come back! Our stay in Chania was wonderful. The apartment is very spacious and the outdoor areas are beautiful. Ioanna was very accessible and friendly.

Great stay, great location, great views. Very close to many bars and restaurants. Not too noisy at night. The only slightly negative aspect was the shower. Basically made the entire floor flooded. Overall, i would recommend the place and would definitely return.

What a wonderful house! We were surprised to be so close to 2 lovely beaches, great hikes and a delicious restaurant. We’re a family with 3 young kids and they loved the swing, swinging bench, jacuzzi, space to play inside. Dimitris left a baby crib, high chair, and toddler potty for us which was super helpful. The best was Dimitris was very kind upon greeting us late at night when we arrived.

A lovely, luxury appartment near the beach and about 30 minutes' walk from the old town of Chania. A well-equipped, clean and beautiful appartment, but above all the warm and friendly hostess Anastasia. She guided us around the area, brought local delicacies, stocked the fridge with food and even drove us to the grocery store with her car. We really enjoyed our stay at the appartment and can wholeheartedly recommend it to others. You certainly wont't be disapointed!

Wonderful Experience at the Villa Elias! Our stay at the villa was perfect. The sea view was breathtaking, especially during sunset – a true sense of calm, quiet, and complete privacy. Choosing this villa was an excellent decision, especially because of the heated pool, which the kids absolutely loved. They enjoyed both swimming and playing in the spacious garden. The villa is well-equipped, with many useful items that made our stay very comfortable, including an air pump for pool toys. The location is also great – close to shops, supermarkets, and pharmacies. As someone who’s constantly traveling for both work and leisure, it’s rare to come across a place where everything is so well thought out that there’s nothing to comment on, in the best way. This is genuinely one of my favorite stays. The location and views are magical and the attention to detail across the property is impressive. The pool and garden were always perfectly maintained and for a mountain spot, it’s not easy to find such clear, bug-free water. The team on site was great, always helpful without being intrusive. The food at the restaurant isn’t fancy but it’s honest, home-cooked, and made with care. Thank you for everything, I’d definitely come back and already started recommending it to friends.

Fantastic Villa for our family party. Spacious, well equipt and with lovely pool and view. There are nice (and inexpensive restaurants within walking distance too). Neighbourhood was peaceful. We felt very much at home, mainly due to the fantastic hosting. Georgia and Andreas are so friendly. Cheerful , beautiful people. They want to make every part of the stay special. Thank you both! ❤️

Everything was perfect

If you wish to experience a secluded garden by a non-travelled beach, almost like your own access to the sea, that is the place. A very good taverna is few meters away. Nothing best to let stress, driving, movida and consumerism behind one's shoulders for some days. Dimitri and his family have created a heaven of peace and a beautiful garden. The holiday-house from their parents is still decorated like in the 80s, but all the essentials are there. The generous welcoming, with a large basket of fruit, olive oil and salad from the herb garden, complete the feeling of coming home. Efkaristò! Many thanks! Rossella

What can I say, just wonderful place! Beautiful, lush garden and view to the mountains. Both in- and outside, everywhere you lay your eyes you find some beautiful details that Antonis and Melina have created. They are kind and helpful people, always there if you need. They brought us some fresh fruit and eggs, and everything we needed for housing, was available. We can definitely recommend their villa to travellers who love peace and tranquil surroundings.

Probably best place to stay in Western Crete! Peaceful, beatifull, great view. Excellent for lazy mornings and unwinding after day of activities. Everything within 5-10 min by car-grocery stores, local tavernas. Myli Gorge nearby for a short hiking trail, town of Christonomo with a war museum, Agia Irini monastery. Rethymno is nice, yet we also recommend driving 1 hour to Chania-its great! Thank you Stavi for being a great host.

We had a fabulous 11 nights stay in Iris villa. Walking out straight onto the beach was one of my favourite things of all. The sound of the sea while sitting by the pool was amazing. The Old town is in easy walking distance. So many great things to do in and around Rethymno. Valia and the host were so friendly and helpful. I would recommend staying here in this beautiful villa.

We absolutely loved our stay at Villa 1891. Alexandra‘s house is a real gem, which makes you feel at home instantly and provides a perfect escape from the stress of everyday life. The traditional old house is beautifully renovated and has kept its ancient charme, decorated with attention to detail. The house is very well equipped and has everything you need. Among oleander and olive trees, you will be sitting and relaxing on this beautiful terrace, enjoying the breathtaking view on the sea or taking a dip in the infinity pool. Alexandra was so kind and welcomed us in person with homemade pastries, local vegetables, a bottle of wine and other delicious treats. Kefalas is a beautiful little village with a couple of taverns and small shops. Everything else is just a short drive away. We stayed four nights and honestly wished we had stayed longer. We‘ll definitely come back!

We had a fantastic time at the villa, it’s easily the best villa we’ve ever stayed in. It’s better than the photos - which is a rare thing. The view is amazing and it’s super peaceful. A fan base for exploring beautiful Crete. The owner Giannis met us at the villa and had even bought groceries for us including a lovely bottle of local wine, such a nice touch to start our holiday. He’s really welcoming and had plenty of good recommendations for us. The pool is fantastic and our girls really enjoyed themselves playing. Lake Kourna is a must visit and you’ve a beautiful view of it from the villa. Thanks for a truly memorable stay - We will certainly stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Kedria! Along with the amazing view of Chania and Souda, the house was incredibly beautiful, clean, and provided everything we needed for our stay in Chania. The hosts were extremely hospitable and responded to every question and request promptly. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was an extension of their home. They provided all of the necessary baby gear and essentials for our little one, who also had a great time enjoying the pool. We’ve never had more caring and responsive hosts. They gave us so many travel tips and food recommendations that made our stay here in Chania one of our most memorable vacations. HIGHLY recommend staying here!

We had a wonderful week at Lina’s villa. It really is a beautiful place with a fantastic view. Close to some fabulous beaches and countryside. Lina was super helpful and friendly and really responsive. The pool was gorgeous. Bedrooms really comfortable. It is about 3km from the village and the road does turn and wind but we got used to it pretty fast and it is not so narrow and mostly lit at night. It is semi detached and the other villa had visitors but they were pretty quiet and we did not feel disturbed. Very glad we chose it

Georgios and Tanja's place is beautiful - a tranquil haven in a lovely village nestled up in the hills but only a few minutes' drive from the coast. Our experience was exceptional from the outset, with Tanja being very accommodating of our late check-in (due to the late arrival of our flight) and welcoming us warmly on arrival. She offered us suggestions for things to do and places to eat during our stay and graciously allowed us a late check-out as well - again due to the late departure of our flights. The house itself is fantastic, beautifully appointed and with a lovely view of the valley. Kournas is a very picturesque village and the food at the local tavernas is fabulous, although the kitchen in the house has everything you need to cook should you wish to. I can't recommend Georgio and Tanja's place enough for a place to stay in Crete. Hopefully we'll make it back one day!

Maryellen communicated really well before and during the stay. The house is a fantastic location but you need a car or taxi to get to local restaurants and into Chania. Maryellen even booked the taxi for us to Chania. The house is fully equipped with everything. The views are amazing over looking the sea. The outside space is great with magical pool. It’s on a hill so probably not suitable for people who find it difficult with stairs and because the pool is an infinity pool you would need to be careful of children in the pool. The house is private and in a quiet location. We will be going back, one of the best Airbnb we have been to.
