Cob Cottage

Channel the pursuit of pause in this one-of-a-kind earth house. The cozy retreat was hand-sculpted using local and sustainable natural materials, and features a central living space with cantilevered slab stairs leading to the loft bedroom. Guests have access to the entire cottage and surrounding property. We live in the neighbouring house, and are happy to give advice or answer questions to help you make the most of your stay. The neighborhood is quite rural and mostly agricultural with several farms and a small private vineyard. The home is a 10 minute walk from the beach and a 20 minute walk from a family grocery and deli specializing in local organic produce. Mayne Island has a small community bus. Times and routes are limited, particularly in the winter. It will stop at the driveway. We also have an official hitch hiking system with signed Car Stops where you can wait for a ride. Usually you don't have to wait long. We are happy to offer pickup and drop off at the ferry dock as a courtesy to encourage car-free travellers, on days when the community bus is not running. Please let us know ahead of time that you'll be coming without your own transportation, and we will make sure that either we or the community bus (which will drop you off at our driveway) are there to meet you when your ferry arrives. The BC Ferries terminals near Victoria and Vancouver are easily reachable via public transit from their respective airports and downtowns.

Water Front One Bedroom Suite with view and beach

A beautiful one bedroom suite, amongst the trees with stunning views down the harbour to Ganges. All rooms overlook the water. There are stairs to the private entrance, and also from the deck outside the suite to the dock, beach and boat house. Large open plan dining/lounge area, with an American Leather (extremely comfortable) sofa bed and mini kitchen. The bedroom has a Queen bed, two night stands and a dresser. Three piece bathroom. House is newly built and has a lot of character.

Comfortable and warm garden studio a 3 minute walk to the best beach on Salt Spring,a 10 minute drive to Ganges and a short walk to a beautiful forested area. Stylish furnishings, soaker bathtub and Netflix on the TV, makes this the perfect base for your island adventure. It has its own private entrance and covered patio. The suite is in a house where the host family lives, so guests may hear occasional footsteps. Paddle board rentals available and I transport to beach or lake for you.

Great access to walking trails, hiking, kayaking, swimming and beach combing. A 5 min drive or a 20 min walk will bring you to the arts and crafts studios, local grocery shops, gas station, realestate offices, insurance, bakery, pizza truck, restaurants, liquor store and the local pub.

Comfortable, private with loads of thoughtful touches and beautiful surrounds, this was the perfect stay for my long weekend bike trip. Skye and Maple made me feel right at home. They are such genuine, kind hosts. The sheep in the field nextdoor added cuteness and comedy. Highly recommend!

We had a lovely, relaxing stay at Jo and Mathew’s place. They were very welcoming, friendly, and made us feel right at home. Jo’s breakfast baked goods were delicious - so nice to stay at an actual BnB! The place was comfy, well-equipped and just a short walk from the beach. We would absolutely stay again. Our family of 3 enjoyed our 5 day stay at Michelle and Blair’s Airbnb. It was cozy and well equipped. It was in a very quiet and peaceful setting amongst the trees. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was a good size and the price reasonable. We had everything we needed for a wonderful stay on Saltspring.

While it’s listed as an Airbnb, it’s truly a healing retreat. From the moment we arrived, a profound sense of peace enveloped us. The property, nestled among towering redwoods and Douglas Firs, is a sanctuary for the soul. Joe, our incredible host, went above and beyond to make our stay unique and personal. His warmth, love, and attention to detail made us feel truly cared for. From the soothing sauna and invigorating cold plunge to the serene hiking trails just steps from our door, everything felt intentionally designed to invite healing and renewal. By the end of our stay, we felt refreshed, uplifted, and ready to return to the world with renewed energy. I wholeheartedly recommend taking time for yourself here. You won’t just visit—you’ll heal. The place is very private, comfortable and clean. The beds and linens were good and the kitchen well equipped. I loved sitting on the front steps in the morning sun with my coffee and around the fire at night. I loved that it was tucked away and private, but not in dark trees, like a lot of places on the islands. It was a great place to stay and a dreamy holiday on Galiano.
