The home is gorgeous. So tranquil and peaceful -- my family took a week-long vacation on Vashon and Brita's was the perfect jumping-off point. The location is super private, the home architecture is extraordinary, and the backyard garden is expansive. If you're looking for a great place to rest and recharge, this is it. There is a lot of great dishware, artistic elements in the home, and incredible views throughout the home, especially in the kitchen and upstairs bedroom.

Awesome location right by the lake. The back yard with the pool and hot tub were a great feature. Easy commute into the city.

Lovely house with water views right within a quick drive of many Seattle area attractions. We had a great stay for a May wedding in the area. Allison has put a lot of thought into the house, with fun games, comfortable beds, and clear instructions for everything. Nearby Poulsbo is high on our list of recommendations.

The place was perfect for our lacrosse tourney weekend. Thanks for the great hospitality!

We stayed just for a couple of days, but enjoyed every minute here - the view from the deck is breathtaking, the house is super clean and has everything we needed. Our kids spent hours watching all kind of crabs and fish at the beach during the low tide and could not stop talking about all the creatures they saw even after we left :)

I cannot say enough good things about our hosts but also to their cleaning team! House was very homey, lots of extra bedding and towels. All the kitchen things needed to cook big meals for my family! And wow! The games and being baby friendly was so nice! The scenery beautiful and private location! I would recommend anyone with a family to book this home and don’t look elsewhere!

Great view of the Seattle waterfront. Very comfortable and clean. Really enjoyed the morning walks down to the water.

Our stay was amazing! Although we stayed for only a few days, the experience would be unforgettable. The beach was small but productive- we got three buckets of clams in just a few minutes. The downstairs couch, which transforms into a usable bed, is useful for a big family. On its own, there’s already an exceptional amount of prepared amenities. Not to mention, waking up early enough, you can catch a glimpse of the amazing view of the sunrise. Sometimes just looking at the owner can change your view of the whole trip. In our case, Renee, the owner, was always in contact with us and communicating. She gave detailed descriptions of how to check in and check out. If we had any questions she’d always answer kindly. This changed our vacation, too. Having this vacation house for the weekend was an incredible opportunity, and I highly recommend this house, short stay or not!

This property was an excellent value. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to return sometime as we have family in the area and this is a great place to visit. The host did a great job and we really appreciate the way this property is kept. Had a great time.

This is a very nice, big roomy home. We were visiting family in the area so it was a perfect place for us (5 adults and a baby). This home is in a neighborhood so you are in very close proximity to neighbors. The only issue we encountered was the neighbors right under the master bedroom window - they have several dogs that bark. If you have a "white noise machine" you can drown them out and not hear them. Beds were very comfortable. House was extremely neat and clean.

The “light filled Lake house” was exactly that and more. Extremely comfortable beds and living area. We were able to have our family visit us and enjoy a meal together because the kitchen had absolutely everything you could possibly need to make a meal. This home is very private and peaceful so a vehicle is necessary to get out and about for daily activities other than spending a day by the lake which is right outside the back door. Kristine had coffee, trash bags, sandwich bags and other necessities available that we did not expect, which was a pleasant surprise. The Kayaks are not available in the Winter which is understandable, however our days were busy visiting family and sight seeing. Gig harbor (gorgeous!) 20 mins drive away. Seattle, one hour away with a thoroughly enjoyed Ferry ride. We highly recommend this home as your accommodations.

Josie’s place is wonderful, clean, great location, great view, and cozy. It was great to be able to have fires in the fireplace. Visited my son in the Navy, the house is close to base. Josie was very kind, professional, and the house was exactly as the photos and descriptions detailed in the listing. Josie communicated thoroughly and responded quickly. The house was very tidy and clean. Great find! Would stay again. Thank you Josie!

This home is beautiful and the property is amazing. You have the creek with the rushing water and wooded walking trails. The entire setting is magical. The hosts were so kind and welcoming I felt at home even before arriving. The bed and linens were so nice and comfortable, I was rested and ready for my cross country move. Even with the private setting, you are minutes away from restaurants, shopping, grocery stores and the highway. I would love to stay here again when I’m back to visit family.

Great place, awesome location on the bay. If you have larger dogs the stairs down to the water front can be a challenge. Overall awesome spot and quiet.

Spectacular home overlooking the water and Mt. Rainier from all three levels. Soothing and welcoming vibe in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Top caliber appliances and amenities with everything you would need – including Breville espresso machine and Sonos surround sound system. Lauren/Jeffrey were highly engaging with lightning-fast communication throughout our stay. It was bittersweet to leave this gorgeous place. We will return to this waterfront sanctuary or try Lauren/Jeffrey’s other oceanfront beach home in Westport next time.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this very comfortable home. It had plenty of space inside and out for us. The beds were also very comfortable and clean. I am picky about my pillow, and I had no issues with the ones there! Bonus: the water pressure in the showers-FANTASTIC! Sunny was an amazing host, accessible and quick to respond to any and all of my questions! We enjoyed it so much, we are going back in a few weeks for a longer stay.

Had a great time at this place! It’s not far from downtown or the ferry terminal. Grew location with access to many shops/stores nearby. My family are pretty heavy sleepers so having it as a corner house on a main road was no issue. They also offer ear plugs if needed.

We enjoyed our stay at the groovy lagoon very much! The hosts thought of everything from spices to having a big bottle or olive oil on hand, umbrellas, lots of beach towels. The kayaks were great but one doesn’t have a back rest which makes for a tougher time relaxing on it. The deck is lovely and we spent a lot of time out there, it could use an outdoor sofa but I understand it rains and might get moldy. The living room was a little smaller than the pictures and just has a small seat and the couch. If our whole family was there we wouldn’t all fit in the couch. Overall we loved our stay here and even when it was windy out the deck is super protected and calm. The heated floor in the bathroom was nice as well. The bedding was nice. It’s actually a 10 min drive to gig harbor but we liked being away from the hustle of the harbor to be honest.

I was traveling solo on business and was looking for a quiet place for rest and relaxation. Catharina's property fit the bill perfectly and I had a very enjoyable stay. The property is very unique, spotlessly clean, and in a quiet neighborhood convenient to Bremerton. I didn't get to enjoy the lake or the surrounding areas but I would not hesitate to rent this property again. The bed, bathroom, and cooking facilities (including a brand new propane grill) allowed me to make myself at home and enjoy my off hours. The WiFi was very good and I enjoyed the SmartTV in the evening. Overall, I can't think of anything that would have made my stay better.

An INCREDIBLE stay. Somehow, Olalla Forest Retreat feels like a quaint cottage, and a sprawling fantasy village. Charming, warm, homey, and quiet. If you are looking for a romantic, sweet weekend, please book it! Both Port Orchard and Gig Harbor are about 15 minutes away, and are both great coastal towns to shop, antique, thrift, etc. Bring a book or two, hop in the hot tub, and enjoy the adventure!
