Fitness-friendly holiday rentals in Polk County

This was a great place to stay in downtown Des Moines. It was close to the Civic Center where we saw Hamilton, and had a variety of restaurants and activities within walking distance. And don't forget the Hy-Vee that was just down the street. We never needed the car during our 2 night stay. The apartment was roomy and exceptionally clean. The view from the living room window included the river, plaza and Civic Center - really beautiful! Mac had lots of thoughtful extras like toothpaste, floss, coffee, and simple check-out procedures. He was a very responsive host. We would gladly stay here again. Thanks, Mac!

Perfect location to visit Drake. Very clean, modern and well-appointed studio with everything one needs. I hope it is available next time I visit!

After a long trip into Des Moines we easily found a parking place, and with the instructions pretty much just walked right into the apartment with no effort at all. The apartment was awesome! Simple retro furnishings combined with the industrial construction gave the place just the right vibe to relax in and just felt, 'right'. Any time I thought I needed something, I opened a cabinet or looked in a closet, and there it was. And the view of downtown... wow. Everything else - parking was easy and felt safe. The apartment was right there after coming in - no long walks. Just a short walk down the hill and across the beautiful bridge to downtown. Lots of night life and great food just a few blocks away, yet distant enough that no noise followed you home. Looking forward to the next time I can take Diego up on his hospitality! Cheers!

The place was conveniently located, very good size, and the price seemed reasonable. It did indicate that the evenings were loud with a bar/restaurant across the street, but we knew that going into it. We were very pleased with our stay. Thank you so very much.

Very friendly host. The apartment has a lot of space, is very clean and easy to live in. When we come back we would love to rent this apartment again. Around the corner several good restaurants and a hyvee to get groceries.

Crystal clear instructions on how to get into the building and once you get in, it’s easier the next time. Had a small hiccup with parking, because of a race that had all the streets around the building closed, but Kyle gave us an alternative suggestion that worked out just fine. Everything was clean and exactly as described and shown. One of the most comfortable bed/pillow combos we’ve had!! Great location and walkable to everything we were in town for.

This unit was as described and very comfortable. The instructions on how to get into the building and then into the unit were excellent. So glad that the unit had a washer and dryer. The free assigned parking space in the parking garage was priceless! So safe and secure. Very quiet area and attached to the Des Moines Skywalk. Walkable to a large grocery store, restaurants and entertainment. Could not get the online "guide book" to open up. Could have contacted Josiah, but didn't really find a need for it. You might want to make sure you will have access to it before arriving. Highly recommend this unit and renting from Josiah.

Great place! Stayed for the 70.3 Ironman. Exactly what we needed! Super close to everything we needed to get to. Walked most places, farmers market was right outside the door and breakfast was a short walk, and Ironman village was one block away. So thankful for a private parking spot downtown! Everything was clean and well kept. Would definitely stay here again. Instructions to get in were a bit intense but we followed it exactly as laid out and were able to get checked in just fine.

A good place to stay for lots of adult children. Would stay again if we were coming through Ames.

The perfect space for our family gathering. The downstairs entertainment kept everyone busy for hours. Very spacious and plenty of bedrooms and beds for everyone. Will most definitely stay again.

This home was by far the most well equipped AirBnB I've ever stayed in. Every detail was covered, from Qtips to board games for the kids. It truly felt like home in so many ways! Bedding was sooo comfortable (I may have even went home and ordered the same comforter set and throw blankets 😂). Highly recommend this home.

We had three couples split this abnb, and had a wonderful weekend! It’s close to downtown, drivable. And within walking distance a a couple good places to eat. The hot tub was an amazing amenity and was spotlessly clean and in fantastic working order.

Loved our stay in Des Moines! My brother in laws and I came in town for a half Ironman. Debbie was amazing to work with through the entire process and it turns out she had done some herself. So in addition to a beautiful home, with great accommodations, we also received helpful tips and words of motivation from her as well. Race weekend turned into a full family affair and l can’t thank her enough for her flexibility in working with us to make the stay as comfortable as possible for everyone involved. Some “on the fly”adjustments were made and she was extremely helpful and gracious throughout. Thank you for making such a special weekend that much better! “Iowa Nice” was experienced in full effect!

The Garden Home was perfect for our family! We had 8 adults and it was a great space for all of us. Clean, cozy, and in a good neighborhood. Kitchen had plenty of amenities, house was well stocked with everything we needed. Pictures match the space, and listing description was all spot on. We would definitely return!

We used Doug’s place to get ready for our wedding, and it was a perfect place for us and our guests to get ready. There was so much space for everyone, and the outdoor area is phenomenal. We wish we had more time to enjoy the outdoor amenities. Everything was clean and transparent upon arrival. Doug was very friendly and easy to communicate with.
