Ideal for the Pennine Way the South Tyne Trail and the C2C cycle route. A short walk to Ashgill Force and within a 20 minute drive of High Force and Low Force.
Traditional 18th century Cottage on a working farmThe Old Smithy was the original farm house built in the 18th Century. Completely renovated from derelict in 2002 and freshly redecorated in 2021, it boasts many of its original features; including the old fire range which will keep you warm on those winter nights (an initial basket of logs is F.O.C.) Downstairs, sandstone flag floors and oak beamed ceilings are throughout. A biomass boiler heats the cottage with timber sourced from the farm. Includes laundry, towels, heating and electricity.

The garden is abundant in wildlife throughout the year, and has a lovely terrace to sit out on. It’s a great base for relaxing, enjoying wildlife, adventuring, or being creative.
