“We had a wonderful experience staying at Vinods Eco Home Stay. We booked the place for 8 nights and thoroughly enjoyed every day of our stay. Although the weather was humid & hot we stayed indoors during daytime which was cooler owing to the natural materials used to construct the house. The nights were pleasant and cool and we enjoyed having our home cooked meals sitting on the verandah and listening to our music and chilling. Village life is different from staying in urban centric locations, you have to pace yourself, wake up early, enjoy the sunrises, drink fresh Toddy and just relax. The biodiversity around the property is rich with various birds, flora & fauna. We visited some amazing places around the property, for sunsets, ancient caves and long drives around the hills. We definitely coming back when the weather is cooler, we can go for long hikes around the forest reserves. Vinod is a super host, always asking about our well beings and being physically present whenever we had a query.”

“An escape from the concretes into the greens. I wanted to go to a place which isolated me from the rest of the world and make me feel like I'm a part of some other land. This short trip to Kudiyanmala did exactly the same for me. A homestay in the midst of a forest and a language unknown. It was a beautiful experience. We checked in on a summer morning on 28th of April 2018. Mr Joseph and his family were constantly in touch and ensured everything was taken care of. There was a caretaker, Deepu who got us traditional home cooked Kerala food. The food was very satisfying. The home stay was very safe and private and my friends and I weren't disturbed at all for any reason. Mr Joseph was kind enough to offer a visit to a stream adjacent to his residence. It was again a beautiful and isolated place. We decided to just stay at home and spend time together gazing into the forest and the beauty of nothingness around us. But one could trek into the forest with Deepu's help. Though I felt that it was expensive for what it had to offer, I had a good time.”

“We had a brilliant stay at the Palavayal Farmresorts. Deepak was an awesome host and was kind enough to help us with an itinerary and menu during our 2 day stay at his property. We arrived at Payannur station, and upon our request we were arranged a pick-up. We were greeted by Francis and Joseph uncle. After we freshened up, we had a Kerala style breakfast - appam with chicken stew. After the breakfast, we were taken to the adjoining river for kayaking. This is organised with a local operator. The kayaking was a brilliant 2-3 hours experience. We were taken care of by 4 professionals who ensured our safety all along. After the kayaking, we returned to the Farmstay and we were then offered an elaborate Kerala style lunch on a banana leaf - rice, fish fry, sambhar etc. Post a short nap, we were driven to our next activity - the Palakayyam Thattu viewpoint, which is an hours drive away. After we returned, another sumptuous meal awaited us - ghee rice, beef fry, pork roast, dal fry etc. The next day, post our breakfast of puttu and beef masala, Francis took us for another lovely experience - a river trek. A former army man, he was proficient in helping us wade the waters of the river. This was a 2-hour affair and ended with us floating through the river, overall a fantastic experience. We were then taken around the lovely farmhouse, where we were also offered fresh coconuts. Our trip ended with another great meal - rice, squid fry, smabhar etc. Upon our pre-placed request, we were dropped back to Paynannur station later in the evening. I would strongly recommend the Palavayal Farmresort to anyone who is looking for the perfect weekend getaway.”
