Cottage holiday rentals in Oscoda County

I booked this beautiful home after my first reservation and host cancelled on me due to the storms. Well, I can say… we are so happy with our stay. It was exactly as described and even better than expected. April really is a one of a kind host, so good that I had to take notes for my own Air bnb adventure. She thought of everything! I’ve never had a better stocked kitchen. We always cook and make a big meal and we sure did not want for anything. We were even greeted with a local baked good and extra sheets and blankets for the dogs. These hosts were the best I’ve had in Michigan, if not the whole country. I’m thankful for people who truly consider someone’s stay and thinks of it all. Thank you again to the hosts. The Cabin was spotless and one of my favorite features was the deer lights.

I have been coming up to hubbard lake for 15+ years, first time staying here this is by far one of our favorite spots now. This place was beautiful, thunder bay river was perfect . Neighbors were nice area was very relaxing. House had everything and more for what we needed . Only thing id say is it was a little uncomfortable how much the cameras turned on especially with kiddos and you know somebody is watching you every few minutes cause the blue light keeps activating. Multiple people in our family pointed it out. Just something to keep in mind most people are use to one out front but this is first time ive seen them on the whole property .

We had a great time at Stacey’s place. Her home was very relaxing, a quick walk to the lake and dog-friendly—which is huge. Everyone in the area was friendly and respectful. We enjoyed spending time at the maplehurst dock, in the backyard at the bonfire pit under the tall trees and bistro lights, and relaxing inside playing games and watching shows. From s’mores ingredients and condiments to paper products and bath essentials, the house had all the extras that lots of other rentals ask you to bring. If you’re going to be staying during a hot week (above 80), we recommend bringing an extra fan for the main space. Otherwise, the windows kept the place cool and comfortable. We’d definitely stay here again.

Our family has stayed at many Airbnb’s, but this was one of our favorite stays! We kayaked, used the hot tub, explored Higgins Lake, and cooked all of our meals from the house. Kari’s home has every thing you need- felt just like home. The homemade breakfast and popsicles were a hit with our family! Our stay exceeded our expectations!!

My family and I had a lovely stay! The house was so clean, the yard was well maintained, and she even left a jar of jam for us! I was so happy to have stayed here and would definitely stay here again.

Had a great time with the kids at Edwards place. Definitely off the beaten path, 20 min drive to property driving on gravel and then dirt/sand after the gate, was a little tight between the vegetation on the path with my truck but no damage done(couple minor scratches). You'll get used to the solar power and learn to conserve, make sure to charge during the day. Amazingly beautiful property, crazy quite. We didn't see much wildlife during our stay, mostly a wide variety of birds. we rented the small boat and made it to the sandbar on Hubbard lake, if your not too familiar with boats I would rent a boat in the surrounding lakes before trying to make it by river to Hubbard lake. River is GREAT for kayak, canoe or paddle board plus you won't scare off the wildlife with the sound of the engine. Overall, we had a great time in this secluded setting and spending quality time with the kids without wifi/internet.

This was a very peaceful place to stay on a beautiful lake. Be aware that there is no WiFi, or cable so be prepared to unplug!! Cell service is spotty also. We had a great time kayaking and fishing.

The cottage was lovingly cared for. They paid attention to details. Everything was comfortable, one felt at home. Dennis and Tina were very responsive. I would definitely stay here again. The location was terrific for the scenery and the water.

We had the best time staying at Renee and Claudia’s, there was an insane snow store and it was difficult to get in the night we arrived. Literally within the hour they had the drive to the cabin plowed and the cabin driveway plowed. It was a peaceful and wonderful week. Will definitely be back next year!! Thank you!!

We felt right at home and was the perfect place to take our dogs for their first vacation. Beautiful lakefront and walkable to the local bar/restaurant. Can’t wait to go back.

Loved the cabin!!! Super cute and homey, loved how pet friendly it was. The hosts were super responsive and went above and beyond for welcoming. Will definitely book again as we come up often!

Hello, my husband and I stayed 5/8-5/11 2025. Sherrie's Place was everything we hoped it would be. Beautifully done inside, everything we needed. The home has 2 bedrooms, we only needed the master bedroom and the bed was very comfortable!! The master bathroom is private in this bedroom. The second bedroom has the 2nd bathroom just next to the it, giving two full bathrooms in the home. Main living room/open floor plan had a large mounted TV. We brought a smaller TV for our bedroom, we like to watch our shows before bed. 2 decks, both have a beautiful lake view, off main and side door. Large yard, with a great fire pit and fishing dock. We saw 2 beavers, MANY jumping fish, SO many turtles on logs across the lake. We had an amazing fire one night. The lake would be great for kayaks!! We saw Pontoons... row boats or canoes would be great. Boat launch next to yard. Very close to West Branch, but private and away enough. Homes around, but it felt secluded. We had a great time!

This is our second time staying at Mark’s place for Memorial weekend. The location is beautiful and close to town. There is so much room on the property for trucks and trailers and to comfortably play with our dog. The inside is always kept nice and clean. Lots of room and storage throughout the house. Mark responds quickly with any questions we had. Look forward to coming back here again!

Melissa did a nice job and everything was as presented. She provides good communication and instructions were right on. We were golfing at Forest Dunes so the location was perfect. Local restaurants and pizzeria nearby as well as a nice grill for steaks. The place suited our needs perfectly.

As soon as you walked in the cottage gave a good impression. We arrived on a very hot day so we were grateful for the portable a/c unit and fans. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cookware to handle cooking dinners. The internet connection was strong! This was a working vacation so I had multiple hours of video conferencing, and the internet connection was flawless. There did not appear to be a beach to walk to, so the water access was off the little dock. Quiet neighborhood. Peaceful, up north cottage location.

The cabin was very clean and just as pictured! You can see parts of the lake from the front porch, the weekend was quiet and relaxing.

One of my favorite cabins we have had the opportunity. To get away for the weekend lots to do around that are for both him and her. Cozy place love the decor definitely want to come back.
