Scout Cabin on Lake Wapanacki

KimberlyRating, 5 stars5 months ago
My family (4 adults) spent a week at "Scout" It was what my family needed! Quiet, private and peaceful. I wasnt sure how the 4 of us would do being so close together but it was the absolute best time we have had as a family in a very long time! Andrew was an amazing host who was very fast to respond and amazingly helpful and understanding. we have been thru a lot recently. We had to leave our home due to an electrical fire and my brother (1 of the 4 adults) is very sick. Andrew went out of his way to lift a bit of stress and worry from my shoulders and I will be forever greatfull. The person who cleans the cabins was also very sweet and helpful. The cabin was clean and comfy in a homey way and we made some beautiful memories! Hanging out, playing cards and talking from our beds to each other for hours in the dark after "going to bed". If you are looking for a place to reconnect with friends/family/yourself Andrew's cabins are the perfect place! We may have found a new years tradition!

Dream Cabin in Vermont

RebeccaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We absolutely adored our stay at the cabin. It is idyllic inside and out! It was amazing to come home to after a day of exploring. The bed was super comfortable and the highlight for us was watching VHS on the TV with snacks. It is so well equipped and cosy, also enjoyed a lovely bath in the claw foot tub. Just perfect for a rustic, cosy stay in nature. A highlight for me was stepping outside at night and listening to (I assume they were) frogs!! They were so loud and it was incredible to hear them, the trees were also surrounded by fireflies (I’d never seen them before!) and I’ll always remember that perfect moment of peace. Thank you for making our 10 year anniversary so memorable with such a lovely place to stay, if you’re thinking of it for a special occasion or just as a base to explore this adorable region of Vermont, look no further :) thank you!

Merle Cabin on Private Lake and 230 Acres

JustinRating, 5 stars8 months ago
Second time staying at this property as it is truly incredible. We love the lake and trails and general privacy experienced at the camp. Cabins are well appointed and comfortable. This is a good escape destination as WiFi is not reliable. Additionally power and water went out for almost a full day which is common for the area but I would recommend this property add a generator for these situations at its premium price point. All that said certainly recommend and will be back to this gem!

Owls Head

BethanyRating, 5 stars2 months ago
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Owl's Head Cabin for a long weekend skiing at Jay. The cabin is small and cozy, very warm, and the right size for two people for a weekend. In addition to the main bed, there's a loft with a sleeping area, but you'd have to be very small to get into it and enjoy it; I'd guess the cabin would be a bit small for a couple with children but maybe if you're out all day it'd be okay. Cooking appliances worked well. The one note of caution is that you have to drive on a somewhat rough, uphill dirt road for at least 3 or 4 miles to reach the cabin. We fortunately did not have to drive during a time when there was actively snow falling on the road, but the 2wd sedan we rented definitely would not have made it in those conditions; it was a little harrowing even with just the slush and ruts left after plowing. So be careful if your trip coincides with nastier weather! Jason was very communicative and left clear instructions. Overall, we had a lovely stay.

The Casita

CrystalRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Landing at the Casita was exactly what I needed. You can feel the thoughtfulness and love that’s been poured into the space. It's such a cute and cozy space to rest and slow down. I felt fully supported in disconnecting and simply being present in the moment. The lack of cell service and Wi-Fi was a perk. I’ll definitely be back. 💜

Vermont Scandinavian Chalet (B)

LynnRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This was our first trip to Paul's place. Although we had some trepidation driving through the sadly rundown town of Wolcott to get to the AirBnB, the google directions were very reliable, and we found it without an issue. This was a great location for a spring visit, but would recommend a 4-wheel drive vehicle for the winter months, and would give a heads up to anyone who cannot walk too far as a time. The location is a very pretty campsite with 3 pre-fab units that were extremely tidy and comfortable. If you're not traveling with family or someone relatively close to you, the accommodations might be a little tricky for privacy. There's no fan in the bathroom, and the pocket doors on all rooms have large gaps underneath them that do nothing for blocking out sound. Also, be prepared that there is no coffee/tea service and the location is not located within convenient distance to go grab a coffee. Other than that, this a good, clean, well-taken-care-of location for a weekend getaway.

Trout Lily Treehouse

AndreaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Although the road leading up to the rental is somewhat uninviting, upon arrival at Jason's treehouse nestled among the trees, it proves to be a distinctive space that is undeniably charming and affords a strong sense of seclusion! The property's uniqueness was precisely what we sought along our road trip, and Jason provided us with excellent local recommendations, which proved extremely helpful. Thank you for a fantastic stay!

Vermont Scandinavian Chalet (A)

SabaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Spent Memorial Day Weekend here with my family and absolutely loved it! This cabin was perfect for a nature getaway. It was comfy and cozy providing lots to do for my parents who prefer to stay indoors and provided great access to nearby hikes for my sister and I! The cabin was absolutely beautiful and incredibly clean with super super detailed instructions every step of the way. The host here even left small stickers around to place to help us find things as we went. The only downside was that we were hoping to light a fire and sit around by the fire pit that was advertised but there were no chairs for us to sit around it. Other than that absolutely perfect stay!!

Rustic Lakefront Cottage Derby "Paddles Lodge"

AnastajiaRating, 5 stars46 months ago
the little cabin on the lake was very nice. we enjoying fires in the mini fireplace, star gazed at night and took the canoe on the property for quite a few rides, while canoeing we saw big fish and small ones, ducks, Great Grey Egret birds, bison and elk I think on a property on the other side of the lake. it was so relaxing to sit down by the dock and read, relax and even run phone calls for our business Great wifi and internet. only a couple of gentle improvements... is it was hard to not have freezer for ice cubes and such and maybe a changing privacy screen lol for passerbys if your changing clothes. other than that it's such a sweet place. I am a woman of color and my husband is Caucasian. just a heads up there are some folks with confederate flags that's saw my husband and I together that made us feel a little uneasy, but nobody can control who your temporary neighbors are. to be specific they drove on atv's passed yelling and hollering, pulled in front of the cabin at night which made us nervous so we moved our car further onto the property and the next day drove pass again and another man with the the confed flag in a truck drove pass and honked at me when I was sitting on the deck. nonetheless it didn't deter us from enjoying our time, made us a little uneasy, but the local authorities are so kind and helpful if you have any concerns. they let us know there typically are not any issues..nothing else weird or odd happened, but just beware for future guests if you are a person of color. Edward was absolutely wonderful and everything was really awesome and cozy. Sweet spot!

Lake Willoughby Vermont Orchard Cabin

SophieRating, 5 stars9 months ago
Such a wonderful place to stay! Cozy and in the most beautiful scenery — a short drive to lake Willoughby and amazing nearby hiking trails! The cabin is as described: no running water and an outhouse a short walk away, but with plentiful water supplied and clean and comfortable amenities. Amy was very helpful in providing information on the cabin ahead of our arrival and communicating throughout. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!

We braved the polar vortex in January and I'm happy to report that the mighty Gypsy Wagon kept us cozy even as low as 0F at night. Lovely cozy space with everything you need for a quiet respite in the woods. Thank you Gwen & Larry for hosting us again.
