Holiday rentals with a kayak in Orleans County

This home is so beautiful and incredibly comfortable. Everything we needed was easy to find and staying here was the highlight of my family and I’s Christmas. The photos do not do it justice because it is even more beautiful in person. Small confusion with check out times so last day was a bit of a surprise rush, but Brendon is easy to communicate with, he’s so responsive and very very helpful. We cannot wait to stay here again.

We had an amazing stay at this cozy cabin on the lake in Eden, Vermont. It was the perfect family getaway for us and our kids (ages 9 and 12). The cabin was super comfortable and had everything we needed, but the best part was definitely being right on the lake. We spent our days kayaking and fishing—non-stop. The kids had the best time and didn’t want to leave. It was peaceful, relaxing, and full of simple fun. Inside, the pool table was a huge hit with the kids and gave us something extra to enjoy in the evenings. The owner was incredibly kind, accommodating, and easy to communicate with, which made everything even better. You can tell they really care about making sure guests have a great experience. At night, we played games, relaxed, and just enjoyed the quiet. The whole place had a great vibe—cozy, clean, and easy to settle into. If you’re looking for a low-key, nature-filled escape with the family, this place is a total win. We’d love to come back!

We were so pleased with our stay here. It had it all! We were able to relax and completely unwind. The home is exactly as described and so much more. Our host was absolutely amazing. Everything was communicated and Rod and Lulu went above and beyond to make our stay special. This will be our first choice in Vermont to stay again.

Kevin's place is by far the nicest Airbnb we've ever stayed at. Everything far exceeded our expectations, and was even more beautiful than any picture could do justice. The house itself is large enough to sleep eight (we were only four), but still felt cozy enough that we never felt lost in it. The entire property is flawlessly clean and perfectly maintained. It's like staying at a postcard quality getaway. Lastly, Kevin is incredibly thoughtful in his dealings with guests, and doesn't overlook a single detail. Thank you so much for an incredible stay!

The White Owl Cottage is a wonderful and spacious location on a quiet road. It’s impossible to critique a lake front home with kayaks and canoes; space for s’mores; an expansive interior and a modern home. Hotel level water pressure. TV’s for rain. Toys for kids. We generally have a “one time only” rule to make sure we visit different places, and we may break it to visit the White Owl Cottage again - it’s that amazing.

We stayed here on a snowmobile trip. House is right off the VAST system. Parker Pie is less than 1 mile away by sled and has good food and trail side gas. Place was exactly what we needed; private cabin that could sleep a group of guys after a long day riding.

Cannot say enough about our stay at Patricia’s home. Beautiful, clean home, perfect location, well stocked kitchen, excellent and prompt communication. Could not ask for more. Highly recommend.

Wonderfully comfortable and well-appointed home that is large, but is cozy for two also! This is our second stay in past six months and that should attest to how much we like the place.

I had a great time staying here! This is part of the White Birch Lodge, which has four cabins on Echo Lake so you can book on airbnb or go to their website to email and book! There is a full-service kitchen including a stove, microwave, and refrigerator so it makes it very easy to cook all week and never even leave the place! A kayak, canoe, and a paddle boat are also available and shared between the 4 cabins. The cabins are warmed by a wood stove which was cozy at night and the breeze from the lake was more than enough with the windows open to cool off the cabin in the evening! This place is about 20 minutes from Lake Willoughby and 20 minutes from a town that has Walmart and other things needed! I would love to stay here again and hope to return soon! Linda was wonderful and very friendly! I cannot recommend this place enough! It's the perfect getaway!

This place was magical! I lucked out with perfect weather this time of year. The views and the lake were so peaceful and amazing. Laying on the hammock reading my book listening to the birds chirp was priceless. I brought my dog Lola who also enjoyed sun bathing and relaxing on the property. We felt completely safe, the cottage had everything we needed in the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. Can’t say enough wonderful things of all the details and thought put into this place. So grateful I had the opportunity to visit. I’ll be back for sure!

This cute lake cottage is the perfect place to get away and enjoy everything the lake and area has to offer. We watched sunsets, star gazed (saw the Milky Way), enjoyed the boats that were available to use and mainly hung out on the sun porch that had great views of the lake.

We had an idyllic weekend at this magical place! Tatebrook Cottage is perfectly situated right on beautiful Caspian Lake, with a lovely (sandy!) beach, kayaks to use, and fabulous views out to the mountains. The cottage is extremely well laid out and outfitted, roomy enough to stretch out and do our own things, but with a warm and cozy feeling. Things are pristine inside and out. We loved exploring the gorgeous area on foot and by kayak, then coming back to cook excellent meals. Jennifer was a gracious and generous host, very clear and very responsive. We feel grateful to our hosts for such a wonderful visit!

Ryan was a great host and communicated well before and during the stay. We had no issues during our stay but knew Ryan was only a message away and would address what we needed. Location was perfect for our ski trip to Jay. Restaurants in the area were good but the whole town closes pretty early. Not much of a night life but that was ok. Would recommend and stay again. The lake house was spacious, clean, and equipped with everything we needed. Convenient location and seamless check-in made it a perfect choice for a comfortable retreat during a ski trip. Steve and Kat were wonderful: super friendly, responsive and helpful. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a cozy getaway!

We had a wonderful stay right on the lake. The house was great and we especially liked being right on the water. A great place to relax with friends. We would definitely come back again. Marlana was very attentive and helpful.

The place was beautiful and a perfect place to be to witness the fall foliage. The cabin was very rustic which is exactly what my wife and I were after so it did not disappoint. The only thing I’d say to keep in mind is that there isn’t much heating on the second floor other than electric heaters so either plan to sleep on the first floor or prepare appropriately if you’re staying in the colder months.

This is a great location for a large group to gather! There are 3 private bedrooms (if you count the loft), plus loads of sleeping places in the bunkhouse. The kitchen is impeccable for an AirBnB with loads of space to cook for, serve, and do dishes for large gatherings - and it's well stocked! The deck and fire pit were awesome ways to enjoy the lake and night sky. It's fairly isolated from neighbors, so we had no concerns about our crowd causing any issues. Definitely a place I would rent again.

What a lucky find on ABnB! We loved the location. It couldn’t have been better- just a walk across the street to the public beach. We learned the history of the home and Claudia’s library filled us in on Lake Willoughby’s rich history . Little pricey but this home has been lovingly cared for. Family oriented space -great for kids! Comfortable beds for 8 with two full baths! In a beautiful location. Well worth it We found Claudia more than generous in offering chairs for the beach and kayaks/life vests for use. She even gifted a lovely book to our bookclub. We hope to come again and stay longer next time. WiFi fine. Some had cell service some did not but not huge issue as Claudia provided landline for emergency use if needed. My family (4 adults) spent a week at "Scout" It was what my family needed! Quiet, private and peaceful. I wasnt sure how the 4 of us would do being so close together but it was the absolute best time we have had as a family in a very long time! Andrew was an amazing host who was very fast to respond and amazingly helpful and understanding. we have been thru a lot recently. We had to leave our home due to an electrical fire and my brother (1 of the 4 adults) is very sick. Andrew went out of his way to lift a bit of stress and worry from my shoulders and I will be forever greatfull. The person who cleans the cabins was also very sweet and helpful. The cabin was clean and comfy in a homey way and we made some beautiful memories! Hanging out, playing cards and talking from our beds to each other for hours in the dark after "going to bed". If you are looking for a place to reconnect with friends/family/yourself Andrew's cabins are the perfect place! We may have found a new years tradition!

Second time staying at this property as it is truly incredible. We love the lake and trails and general privacy experienced at the camp. Cabins are well appointed and comfortable. This is a good escape destination as WiFi is not reliable. Additionally power and water went out for almost a full day which is common for the area but I would recommend this property add a generator for these situations at its premium price point. All that said certainly recommend and will be back to this gem!

This is a quintessential Vermont lake ‘camp”. Camps are a blend of fun and Yankee ingenuity with everything you need and nothing you don’t. We had a fun but fast 2 night weekend at Shadow Lake. Friday night arrived and brought the two chairs down to the dock from the storage area under the camp. Watched the water turn to glass as the sun started to set and the loons came right up to us. Then headed to Parker Pie for dinner, live music, and the best local beer selection in NEK. Saturday we had breakfast at camp (everything we needed in the kitchen and more) followed by Bread & Puppet museum, the Museum of Everyday Life, and Hill Farmstead brewery. We would have used Michelle’s kayaks around the lake after but it was quite windy and chilly. We hit the Busy Bee for breakfast and then a walk around the lake after packing up for check-out. We loved the amenities of the camp and the personalized welcome note from Michelle.

This was a very nice cottage for a stay in the area. The place has a lot of character and was very comfortable.

If you’re looking for a quiet, peaceful, secluded little get away this is the place to go. I truly miss it already. Everything was perfect and so much to do. The game room is stocked with more games than I even knew existed, and in the main house so many puzzles, books and more games. The kitchen has everything you need to make a home cooked meal. We stopped at Shaws and Walmart in Newport on our way to the cabin, and I suggest anyone else who visits this amazing cabin does the same because I can promise you once you arrive on holland pond you will not want to leave. The whole cabin is so cozy and welcoming with some of the nicest blankets to cuddle up in. Anthony & Toni’s cabin is truly a gem and the pictures don’t do it justice. You’ll have to go see for yourselves.
