Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Orange County

Loved my stay at Justin's! He was such a kind and friendly host and helped me feel at home. The rental was really cute and quirky and had lots of interesting art pieces. The yard was beautiful and private. The screened in porch was great and there were multiple other patios to hang out on. He had pet peacocks that were awesome to watch! Beds were comfortable and there were plenty of extra linens in the closet. Justin even left us some breakfast food in the fridge! Only thing to be aware of beforehand is there are a lot of stairs you have to climb to get to the rental and it is another family members apartment. Fantastic time overall!

We loved staying at Justin’s beautiful house and definitely hope to come back someday soon! The home itself is bright, spacious, and comfortable—perfect for our family of 4. We also really enjoyed spending time in the yard and on the deck, eating all of our meals out there, hanging out in the hot tub and sauna, and enjoying the peace and quiet of the surrounding woods. The house feels very private, even though you’re close to the road and have easy access to Hillsborough. We were very happy with the location. Justin and his family were also great communicators/super nice people and easy to coordinate with. I would definitely recommend this place!

We had a wonderful stay in Dogwood Acres! We loved the location and how close it was to downtown. The scenery was beautiful, creek on property and even lake nearby. We even saw fireflies on every night. We appreciated the personal touches and how comfortable the house was. Would come again!

We were looking for a place for a friend reunion before a wedding and this space was perfect. It comfortably fit 7 adults. We loved how peaceful it was. The host was very responsive and helpful during the whole stay.

Perfect experience! The house is exactly as described with great extras - toiletries, coffee, filtered water ready for us! Everything was very clean and comfortable, very peaceful setting and super comfy sheets! Erin was highly responsive throughout our booking and stay process. Maybe the best all around Airbnb experience I have had!

Our family was very comfortable during our stay here! The house is appointed with many thoughtful touches, from snacks and drinks provided upon check-in, luggage racks ready to go in our rooms and plenty of toys and games for children. We felt at home while staying here.

My husband and I had a six night stay at Matthew's place while in town visiting our daughter, who has settled in the area. The location is lovely, a beautiful, woodsy area, but close to all amenities (driving distance, not walking distance). SO QUIET--loved the neighborhood! The home was quite comfortable. Master bathroom and kitchen have been upgraded . Heating and A/C worked well. All rooms were well-lit. Several games, spanning a range of ages/abilities were available, as was a Bluetooth-enabled speaker . Wifi worked well. The home is in good repair. We cooked several meals there. I would note that measuring cups and spoons weren't available, but everything else we needed was. We had zero problems, but did reach out to Matthew to let him know that some niceties (plastic bags/foil) needed to be replenished and he responded immediately. The kitchen table and the living furniture have been used and are well-loved. I highly recommend Matthew's place and would stay again!

I am one of those people that like to “live” at my Airbnbs - cook, option to do laundry, and hang out comfortably. This place fit the bill. Very well thought out details - well placed plugs for devices, soft towels, comfy bed, bottles of water on bedside tables, pots and pan that were well taken care of, washing machine pods provided, etc, etc. It was quiet and very peaceful situated at the back of the lot surrounded by beautiful trees. Location is perfect for UNC or Carrboro. Hosts were responsive and accommodating concerning specific requests. Highly recommend.

Great apartment--tons of natural light, comfortable beds, and a well-equipped kitchen. Lots of thoughtful touches that are uncommon in an airbnb rental--tote bags for shopping, reusable water bottles for walks, period products in the bathroom. This place is an easy walk to coffee shops, bars, restaurants, and Weaver Street Market, a nice grocery co-op that's also a kind of community hub. We had everything we needed for a reunion of grad school friends. I would definitely stay here again

This was a great little Airbnb. It had a family of deer right outside the door. The bed and bathroom were very comfortable. Had lots of amenities, including a replacement toothbrush after I realized I had forgotten mine.

Great spot in dowtown Carrboro, can walk to everything. The place looks just like the photos, the bedroom and living room were very comfortable, the bathroom was spacious and has been nicely renovated, and the kitchen has all the basics for cooking at home. Its a bit loud being right on Main street, but ear plugs were thoughtfully provided (although I didn't need them). Only downside is no outdoor space (e.g., balcony). The host (Amanda) was really friendly and even accommodated an early arrival at the last minute.

This is a charming, comfortable, convenient and well appointed accommodation from the washing machine down to the Q-tips. I particularly appreciated its proximity to the university making for easy walking and a completely carless week. The host was excellent-- very solicitous of my comfort.

Kathryn's place is cozy, quiet and very clean. Perfect place is you are visiting UNC. Kathryn was very responsive and kind. Highly recommend.

This was absolutely perfect. Only bummer was we couldn't stay as long as we'd hoped and it was super rainy so we didn't get to swim much. overall an excellent stay, will definitely be back!

Cute and comfortable place, close to downtown. Great for a short stay in Durham!

The home was beautiful and had a lot of space. It was just two of us, but we could have easily split it with at least two more people. We especially loved the lake view patio. We enjoyed our morning coffee out there every morning as well as a few night caps. It was so peaceful. Jim was very easy and quick to communicate with. We would definitely stay there again.

It’s an incredible stay. The swimming pool so close to my apartment is the best part for me.

Great place near a ton of fun and interesting places in Durham!

As others have said, the location here can’t be beat, especially on weekends when the parking deck right behind this unit is free. We easily and safely walked to restaurants and the Durham Bulls game. Rachael’s unit is exactly as pictured and we were comfortable inside. The only negative is also an echo of other guests’ comments: outside noise is easily heard in the bedroom. Rachael helpfully provides foam earplugs and for us the train was no issue - the last one was ~midnight and the first at 7am so we were good. But it was graduation weekend for many local universities and for sports fans both the Carolina Hurricanes and the Durham Bulls won their home games. There was lots of celebrating going on until very late/early. We’d happily stay at Rachael’s place again but probably with an eye for what’s happening in town.

Pearl Mill is a unique place with a great pool and gardens. The people there are super friendly, I felt so welcome. Easy parking, feels very safe. The condo is as described and very comfortable, perfect for one or two people. The outdoor environment, the inner courtyard, is beautiful and full of things to do. Very walkable to great restaurants, the Ellerbee trail, and the farmer's market on Saturday. Robert and the Trianglebnb folks were super responsive when my flight was delayed and I needed to stay an extra night. I'd definitely stay again. Thanks Robert!
