Cottage holiday rentals in Ontario County

Cozy Clark Cottage was all we could have wanted for a long stay at the lake. The location was the perfect mix of privacy and convenience. Set far back on a secondary lane and not visible from the main road, but only a couple minute drive into town for groceries, a pharmacy, a huge wooden playground, a library, bank, post office, bakery (amazing!), the quaintest brewery, and more. The region itself is breathtaking with tons to do! We thoroughly loved playing in the large yard. The lake is beautiful and we went to the water’s edge every single day - rain or shine - to skip stones, wait (& wait) for fish to bite, and search for tiny shells and “fairy glass.” The fire pit provided welcomed heat on chilly evenings, as did the wood-burning stove inside. One of our favorite features was the climb up nook with a double bed where my kids rotated who would be the designated occupants. Beds were comfortable and we all woke well-rested for each day’s adventures. This spot is a gem!

Nice setting easy to get to all activities we were looking to do like Watkins glen and wineries. Tony provided detailed instructions and gave good recommendations!

We have stayed at this house multiple times. It is our home away from home at the Finger Lakes. You can’t beat the location! The house is absolutely perfect. It is a wonderful getaway. I can’t recommend it enough.

Jennifer’s place was so special. We needed somewhere close to a wedding we were attending and this place was a gem. Super private, well stocked, easy check-in. Beautiful home the decor was out of a magazine.

The house was absolutely beautiful with an even more beautiful view, the kayaks and paddle boards were easily accessible and were a ton of fun on the lake, Mary was a great host. We had some weather related incidents and she responded within minutes. The only negative thing I could say is, we should’ve booked it for longer, we didn’t want to leave. It was very fun weekend!

We had a blast! The tram was a lot of fun, as were darts in the basement and grilling on the deck!

Was a beautiful place. Quite had plenty of good fire wood and very clean place. Neighbors were great enclosed front porch was great to eat and be able to look at lake. Nice air conditioning though out home. Will definitely visit again. Steve was a wonderful host. 5 stars I.n my book

This was the perfect place for a much needed getaway with friends and family. it had the right amount of space for 6 adults to relax, chill and cook meals together. The weather wasn't ideal but the outdoor space was great when we could be outside. Thanks for offering your home!

This lake house was the perfect weekend getaway for our group! The whole house was clean, and had beautiful views everywhere you went. Our weather during our weekend was a bit rainy but having the sauna and all of the games provided still allowed us to have an amazing time! We will absolutely book this house in the future :)

We are glad that Scott and Diane decided to host us — we had a great time away from busy NYC. We didn’t luck out with the weather, but still had lots of fun exploring Canandaigua. The cottage was very clean and very homey, with every little thing thought of. It made for a very cozy time during the stormy weather. We highly recommend and plan on staying again!

We had a phenomenal time spending Memorial Day weekend at Bryan’s lakefront property. We were traveling with a group of 5 humans and one pup, ranging in age from baby to senior and everyone had a great time (especially the pup!). The space is clean and the dock is gorgeous. This is our second time here and likely not our last!

A wonderful place to relax and enjoy some amazing sunsets! The place was incredibly well stocked with everything you could possibly imagine to enjoy the beautiful lake.

We really got a lot out of being right on the lake - the access was unbeatable. Rented kayaks from Canadaigua Sailboards for a week, though the cabin also has a canoe, and ate many meals and made smores and watched the sun set and ducks swim by. Swam ourselves on the hot days. Great day trips: waterfall hikes near Canadaigua (Grimes Glen then Naples for lunch), Ithaca (downtown shops and gorges hike), Watkins Glen, Corning Glass Museum including glass-making activities. Cute local towns (Geneva, Candaigua, Hammondport) have along-the-lake walks and ice cream options. Enjoyed 'Moonlight Stroll' and live music at Sonnenberg Gardens, plus Good Life Tea shop in downtown Canadaigua. Found a ton of waterfall hikes on AllTrails. Had fun at the Pageant of Steam. Noted concerts at the CMAC nearby but we didn't catch any. The private road that the cabin is on is nice for a walk too, and neighbors were friendly. All the basics are covered and we made breakfast/dinner often. No microwave but everything you need to make meals. Local Wegman's has everything you could want.

We loved our stay on Honeoye Lake! This is a cozy cottage with everything you could need. And the waterfront is absolutely beautiful! Nancy was a great host - very helpful & responsive. We hope to stay here again next year!

Loved our stay! Sleeping in the boathouse is totally worth the stairs to the main cottage. You can feel and see the family history in the main cottage. Elfi is a great host and we got exactly what she described. will totally stay again when in the area.

My husband and two adult sons stayed with me. Plenty of space! Charming cottage. Chabby Chic decor very cute. Full laundry. Master bedroom located behind galley bathroom. We mostly alerted each other when we needed to block off access. Quirky and no problem for a family. Small breakfast nook in kitchen w 3 chairs. AC units and box fan kept it cool in July. Huge field of chest high wildflowers right next door! Grace helped us adjust our stay quite easily. Great fast communicator! All cottages on Seneca Lake have occasional spider or beetle, and this no exception, so we coexisted. It *is* in the country! We were visiting family but if you want wineries this is PERFECTLY sited close to many. ADA: Step up into kitchen, two bedrooms up flight of stairs. 3rd bedroom (queen) only accessible through 2nd bedroom, must leave door between open to get AC. [2nd bedroom (single bed) really a loft w no door so please note if you have small children]. Highly Recommend!

This was our second stay at Our Happy Place. We like the location right on the lake, and that restaurants and attractions are nearby. This is a great area and we enjoy it. We look forward to coming back.

We had a very relaxing weekend at Thomas’ place! Loved the simplicity and age of it. Very cozy and nostalgic. Some great fishing off the dock. There are rods, but you need to bring your tackle box! Can’t speak for the twin beds but I had some very good nights of sleep in the master bedroom! Would definitely book again!

We had a great girls weekend at the cottage! Beautiful views from the deck and cozy living area! The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes and utensils and clean. The weather didn't cooperate so we weren't able to use the dock or yard, but we'd love to come back for kayaking and the fire pit! Definitely recommend!
