Holiday rentals with a kayak in Northumberland County

My absolute favorite airbnb ever ! This was the 3rd time I've stayed here, and if I could afford it, I'd go monthly. The location is perfect, right on the water, small private beach, lots of privacy and soooo incredibly relaxing. The house is very well laid out, super clean and comfortable. Keri provides more than most hosts, from the kitchen and bathrooms, to beach gear, movies, books, games, and the kayaks ! I love love love this house and location so very much. It feels like "my" home away from home and I'll continue to go back as much as possible. THANK YOU again Keri, for another amazing getaway !

5 stars! We have stayed at a number of Airbnbs in the US and Canada over the years. While we have never had a negative experience, this home exceeded ALL our expectations - a tall order indeed when traveling with 3 generations! The property struck a rare balance of serenity and fun. This was our first trip to the Chesapeake Bay and the home was a perfect example of hospitality and beauty we enjoyed around every turn of our adventure.

Very private, peaceful place. Exceeded expectations of description. Very comfortable. It had a gas grill which made it great for preparing meals. Kitchen was very thoroughly stocked with wth everything needed. Comfortable beds. 4-5 Kayaks were great for the back bay (pond) area. It is quite shallow in spots for kayaking, but enjoyed seeing the bald eagles, blue heron, and ospreys. both water areas are tidal. Beach area was great for fishing and sitting in out. Kilmarnock was a 30 min drive. it was a nice area for eating and shopping. Would love to stay again. Great place if you want to stay put and unwind.

The location is easy to get to and very well maintained. Everything seems brand new and the house is well furnished, clean and very comfortable. The house is surrounded by lots of amazing trees and feels like you’re staying in an amazing tree house. There are plenty of kayaks, fishing poles and water activities to keep everyone happy. The dock is amazing and hours were spent fishing, crabbing, and playing cards and enjoying time with family. Would 100% recommend it to anyone who is thinking of staying here. It is a wonderful, private and quiet location. Kayaking, fishing, crabbing, and all. Kristie was super responsive and helpful. I will be definitely returning.

We had an amazing stay at Ryan’s place for our Father’s Day weekend fishing trip! Ryuan was a fantastic host—very accommodating, responsive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Thank you Jim and Megan for making this beautiful home available for our vacation. I was impressed with the cleanliness and because I'm a fishermen I loved the bait house by the water. It literally had everything you needed to fish or do some crabbing. We really needed nothing other than our cloths to wear and books to read. I did bring my own kayak but I really didn't need to everything was provided. We really appreciate your thoughtfulness in things like the coffee bars in the kitchen and upstairs as well with also providing k-cups, flavoring etc. and extra tp:) This location was what we needed to rest and recharge. Once again, thank you.

We had a wonderful relaxing vacation at Paws & Reflect! The pictures really do not do it justice! Dawn was very informative and responsive! The house was comfortable, beautiful and so clean. The game room was a blast and we enjoyed relaxing on the dock and the back patio. My little girl said this was the best vacation house ever!

This was an amazing trip. We are going to make this a yearly trip. It was private and peaceful. It stormed a little bit but that was nice to watch out of the bedroom upstairs or on the screened in porches. We both really enjoyed the house!

This past weekend, my partner and I celebrated our wedding and needed a welcoming space to host my adult children, their families, and one of our officiants. The Pearly Oyster proved to be the perfect choice. From the moment they arrived, they were captivated by the home's thoughtful layout, breathtaking views, immaculate cleanliness, and the delightful abundance of board games. Lindsay and Randy’s communication was impeccable—keeping me informed every step of the way, allowing me to seamlessly update my group without ever needing to follow up. I cannot recommend The Pearly Oyster highly enough—an exceptional experience all around.

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely home. The home was extremely well- equipped and very comfortable. The property is very private, and the grounds are beautiful. We had our dog with us, and we all enjoyed the outdoor spaces. The kitchen has everything you could think of, the beds were comfortable, and the master suite with screen porch was a wonderful place for morning coffee. Highly recommend!

Cannot say enough great things about Lacey’s home, we loved everything!! From the location to the decor and amenities. The home was SO cute and clean and all the notes with tips/tricks/info around the rental were incredibly helpful, there was no guessing about anything. The additional access to the nearby dock for fishing was the best! We visited early June and there were lots of jellyfish the first day, not so many the next. We were able to catch croaker, spot and a crab! We are so looking forward to booking another stay, too 5 Airbnb’s we’ve found over the years. Thanks for much for a great stay Lacey!!

We had a great day wonderful views of the river. Love the screened in porch and the swing and the beds were super comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed in my family loved fishing off the dock.

We had a fantastic stay at this charming cottage on a private beach! The peaceful setting and direct access to the water made for a truly relaxing getaway. We especially loved the Adirondack chairs and firepit overlooking the Chesapeake Bay—perfect for amazing views and cozy evenings. The master bedroom and living spaces offered beautiful water views that made every moment feel serene and special. The owner was incredibly accommodating with check-in and shared thoughtful, personal tips that made our stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to unwind by the bay!

My group of 10 had a wonderful stay at the Rivah House! We could have fit several more people quite comfortably - we felt we had plenty of space in both common areas and rooms. Lots of fun, bright decor livens up the space and makes it feel homey. The house was clean, linens were nice, and beds were very comfy. We appreciated that there were different room configurations that could fit a variety of group types. The kitchen was extremely well-appointed, with plenty of dishes, utensils, and some pleasant surprises like a Crock-Pot! Our group had a great time cooking and eating together around the big table. Our stay was early March but if the weather had been warmer, we definitely would have spent more time sitting out by the dock watching the birds on the water, playing with all the outdoor toys (kayaks, etc.), and enjoying the spacious fire pit. Francesca was an excellent host, giving us clear check-in/out instructions, local advice, and responding promptly.

We enjoyed our stay here. Very quiet area, nice comfortable space. The gravel road leading in (maybe a half-mile long) and driveway gave us a good area for morning and evening dog walks. We did not end up doing any fishing but the pond looked like a great place for kayak fishing. Not specific to the house but in the area: Rita's Cafe in Weems was great (food truck on a small road)--Chef Craige usually has a special and some regular menu items. Leadbellys (at Fairport Marina) had good oysters and hush puppies and was convenient for our first night. River Market in White Stone has good food to be ordered at the rear counter and prepared items in the coolers. Out of the Oven Bakery (White Stone) had great bread Miss Mary's seafood, also in White Stone had great fresh fish and prepared items. The three places in White Stone are very close to each other so convenient when running out.

This Airbnb truly felt like staying in someone's home. There were lots of items provided in the house -- from toys in the cabinets, to records to listen to and the kitchen was very well stocked with pans, plates and seasonings. Outside we loved using the crab pots (though we came up empty and didnt catch any crabs) and lighting a fire at the fire pit at night.

We are two families that met up for a relaxing getaway after celebrating a high school graduation. This was the perfect place. The downstairs had lots of games and a big screen for them to hook their switch up to. We watched movies upstairs. And use the well-equipped kitchen each night to make a big dinner. The kids took the kayaks and canoe out one afternoon as well. Although I would say they definitely wouldn’t swim there. Compass entertainment complex is very close and they enjoyed their time there. We also went to a movie there one night. It is a beautiful home in a peaceful setting. Especially down on the dock at night. It was very quiet. We would definitely recommend this home.

We piled 5 adults and a toddler into the house on Kelley Neck Drive, and it worked just fine! Bathrooms, AC, kitchen, appliances, etc, all worked perfectly, the furniture was comfortable and in good shape, and the house was spacious. The yard was perfect for us, but might have been small for older kids, and I wish there had been more than one kayak (but even one kayak was a bonus!) The heron was fishing at the mouth of the our private lagoon every morning, and an osprey and eagle visited as well. We barely heard any neighbors, and the nights were quiet and peaceful. Thank you!

Pizza Friday was an amazing find! We spent a family reunion on the porch making pizza's in the oven. We obtained crusts from an Italian restaurant in California on our way and it proved to the perfect choice for us. We also enjoyed the dock and even caught a few crabs to show the kids. In addition we sat around the fire pit in the evenings. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean inside although we spent most of our time outside on the porch.

Great place! We really enjoyed all of the outdoor amenities. The kayaks, paddle boards, fishing, hot tub, hammocks were all great. Have two teens who very much enjoyed. Was relaxing but a lot to do there also. Lots of jellyfish so we did not swim at all. Definitely a lot of fish and crabs that can be caught right at the dock. If more serious and knowledgeable about fishing then us, may want to bring extra hooks and tackle box. Definitely some size-able fish. Bait shop in town has a lot of supplies but very limited hours. The house had tons of towels, washcloths, etc. which was nice. Kitchen had oil, spices, plenty of cooking utensils, pots / pans, dinnerware etc. Blackstone was nice. Made it very easy to cook. Very few restaurants open M-F. Of those that were, most closed by about 3. Newsome’s was a great local place for lunch. Crab cakes were outstanding. Definitely would stay again. Had a great time!

Ted and Jen couldn’t have been nicer and more accommodating. It’s a great spot and I’m hoping to return soon!

This cabin was the perfect getaway for my family. The waterfront location is absolutely stunning, and my sons had a fantastic time playing in the water. The cabin is exceptionally well-equipped, providing everything we could possibly need. It's a true escape from civilization, offering a profound sense of peace and tranquility.
