Shepherds hut holiday rentals in Northamptonshire

This is the third time I've stayed in Katherine's 'shepherd's hut'. It is a beautifully situated, cosy and peaceful retreat from which to explore Oxford. Katherine is a great host, friendly and helpful without being at all intrusive. I'm sure I'll be back for a fourth time soon.

The hut was absolutely beautiful, in a stunning location, very peaceful, dog and child friendly stay. Jonathan and Jenny were lovely hosts, and always very helpful. Highly recommend!!

We had a lovely stay in the shepherds huts with our daughter. She loved the bunk beds to sleep in and enjoyed the camping like experience. We played scrabble in the evenings in the kitchen and she had lots of fun doing lots of handstands on the grass out the front of the huts! We then had a lovely walk along the foot path just down the road. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for something wholesome.

Everything was just perfect. Very easy checkin, clear instructions on how to use everything, beautifully furnished with great amenities, loved that we could buy local produce too. Highly recommend staying here if you want to be at one with nature and have a few days to switch off. We will definitely be back!!

Very close to, just 15 minutes, but out of the sprawl of Oxford; in beautiful farmland with fabulous walks and charming pubs, rivers for dipping into. Beautifully decorated space with everything one needs, quietly located in the corner of a field. Really comfortable bed with cushions, perfect place to read, with good light and a window. Recommend local-ish Mason Arms for relaxed coffee and papers. Good shower and thoughtful makeup mirrors in communal bathroom. Very quick response (booked hours before!) and kind and welcoming welcome.

I booked this for my parents in law and Sue was brilliant. Very warm and welcoming and was happy for us to visit them as much as we liked. Beautiful garden with beautiful views, will definitely be booking again.

Catriona was a superb host! we really enjoyed our stay at the beautiful shepherds hut, the picture don’t do it justice. It’s full of character right down to the last detail and it’s so well equipped you have everything you could possibly need and more. We loved the fact it was dog friendly and had the little things you could need for your furry friends! The hut is so private and had a fantastic garden space (very secure if you have dogs), including a lovely outside dinning area with a BBQ and pizza oven. We will definitely be back!!

A true hidden gem! This off-grid shepherd’s hut is the perfect place to switch off and relax. The hut is absolutely beautiful inside and out- and the wood burner hot tub was incredible! We had an amazing weekend here, it was totally private and just what we wanted. Ideal for anyone needing a proper escape. The extra touches that were included such as mini bottles of bubbly and fresh milk in the fridge just made it. Can’t wait to return- thank you so much!

A perfect countryside escape! My partner and I recently stayed at the sheep shed and had such a fantastic experience. The hut was cozy, clean and thoughtfully designed - everything you need for a peaceful and comfortable stay. The bed was super comfortable, and the little touches made it feel extra special. The location was perfect for a quiet getaway. Surrounded by nature, it was incredibly relaxing to sit outside with a coffee in the morning or stargaze at night. It felt remote and private, but still accessible to local walks and nearby villages/pubs. The hosts were very helpful and check in was smooth and easy, you could tell they’d put a lot of care into creating a warm, inviting space. Highly recommend for anyone looking to relax and unwind in a beautiful rural setting. We will definitely be coming back!

A fantastic stay, accommodating even though we booked the hut at the last minute. Very welcoming and made us feel right at home, was always responsive when we had a question to ask. The shepherds hut was brilliant with amazing views and a peaceful setting! Getting to see the lambs when you first wake up is a real novelty. Bed was very comfortable and fire warmed the hut up instantly! My 6 year old had a fantastic time I was worried she was going to not have much to do but she loved having the open space all to her self and having the entire the field for my bulldog was great and she had a great time too! The hosts welcomed us with a great smile and waved us goodbye with a bigger one. They didn’t make us feel a hassle at all which really put us at ease. Thank you guys for a brilliant stay.

We absolutely loved our stay! The hut has everything you need, beautiful and private surroundings and is spotlessly clean. We loved the fire pit and marshmallows! It is within driving of lovely towns and villages and was a lovely and relaxing break away! Would recommend highly! Thank you

My partner and I booked to stay as a mini-celebration/staycation and would have happily stayed longer if we could! The space was beautiful, peaceful, cosy and comfortable. We arrived to homemade marmalade (delicious!), eggs and sausages, a loaf of locally made sourdough and some milk & biscuits - all were delicious and it was a really lovely treat to have - especially after a drive from Edinburgh! Bed was comfy, the space has been beautifully curated and organised with every need considered and taken care of. We are hoping to be back some point in the future, it was exactly what we were looking for and were very sad to leave!

Had a great stay. Loved the welcome basket! Had an issue with the hot tub and Chris came and fixed it straight away. Only suggestion we have is some sort of airer, maybe under the shelter by the door, to dry the hot tub towels when it is raining. Would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay, it was so peaceful and private. We would 100% recommend to anyone to visit! We loved that we could let our dog roam around with the peace of mind that she was safe while we enjoyed the hot tub. James was incredibly helpful and answered all our messages so quickly! We loved that there was a list of things to do and places to eat, it made it so easy for us to narrow down what to do. The shepherds hut itself was spotless and had everything we needed! We loved the added details of coffee and logs for the fire being provided. Thank you so much for an incredible stay!

The Shepherds Hut was amazing, so cozy, clean and comfortable. Trish has thought of everything. The table and benches turn in to the bed base, with space underneath to store your bags. The bed was really comfortable and we both had a great nights sleep. The shower was great, towels provided. It's in a really quiet location and we had the added pleasure of seeing a glorious peacock on our arrival ! Trish is a really great host, lots of attention to detail such as: fresh free range eggs, cans of gin and tonic, chocolate biscuits, milk and a bottle of cold water in the fridge. Plus marshmallows for melting by a fire and a jar of sweets. Games to play, a folder with details of local pubs (all dog friendly), maps for local walks and booklets of places to visit. We recommend the Red Lion at Castle Eaton, a really friendly and welcoming pub, with very tasty food. We really enjoyed our weekend, so much to do and right in the heart of the Cotswolds. This place is lovely! Steve is great, so friendly and really helpful. My girlfriend particularly loved the goats, but the entire experience was just lovely. Highly recommend

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! Ros and her husband have clearly gone above and beyond to make this shepherds hut lovely. The hut is fantastic - very comfortable and very well stocked. The breakfast was tasty. The area is very beautiful and there is lots of information in the hut about local walks and pubs with clear instructions. Thank you!

We had a great stay at Shepards View. Super cosy and in such beautiful surroundings - watching the horses in the morning was lovely! The location was perfect aswell, so easy to get to all the places to visit in the Cotswolds. Our dog loved the enclosed garden. Hosts were very helpful, not that we really needed anything but all instructions were helpful! Would highly recommend a stay!

Rachel is an amazing host. Let us know that we could check in early and greeted us with some delicious cake and milk. The hut is beautiful and the outside space is great for dogs. The land is great and you don’t feel like you are staying on someone’s property it feels very secluded and we could walk the dog around Rachel’s field which was great. On a hot summers day the hut can get quite toasty which is something to be mindful of if you have a dog but Rachel does provide a fan which is great for cooling down. Kitchen was well equipped with a hob, oven and microwave. Great fire pit and BBQ. Overall amazing stay at Rachel’s Shepherd Hut!

We absolutely loved our stay at ‘The Bibury’! Only a short drive from Burford, it was a wonderfully peacefully escape in such a gorgeous setting. The facilities were fantastic and the welcome basket was a lovely treat on arrival - the wood-fired hot tub was an added bonus! The hosts were really friendly and helpful. We would definitely reccomend to others visiting the Cotswolds :)
