Kid-friendly holiday rentals in North Yorkshire

We booked this for friends to use for their honeymoon. Charles was very accommodating and helpful when booking and the space was just perfect. Particularly appreciated was the wood fired hot tub and lots of useful local information helping them to make the most of their stay.

Helen was an excellent host. The location was perfect, just a 10 minute walk to the centre of Harrogate. The house was spotless and very well equipped. 100% will stay again.

Great little place to stay. Comfy beds, peaceful surroundings, and David is a lovely host. The house is a really good example of a historic building which has been converted with imagination, style and class. It was really fun to learn about its previous uses from the books provided. Everything in the village is walkable, and they do good fish and chips at the Cod & Lobster.

A wonderful cottage in a beautiful location. We had a great stay as a family of 4 and the kids especially loved having the horses in the field out the front. Lucy was a great host! We would highly recommend.

lovely setting, period house is what it is. The children loved the little bits of history like the writing block that they had learned bout in school. Easy to find, quality bedding very comfortable. We were staying for a wedding so didn't spend a lot of weekend there. Garden was great to sit out in. Welcome pack was a lovely treat, 😋 The homemade cake sustained us all whilst making up all the wedding flowers at Danby church nothing too much trouble for Trish, I asked for full length mirror and there was one provided. All round a pleasant stay

Juliet’s place is absolutely beautiful. So peaceful, beautiful and very easy to get to Ilkley and surrounding areas! Juliet and her husband have been amazing always making sure I’ve got everything I need. Very knowledgeable and friendly made me feel very welcome and at home. I’ll definitely go back next year and hopefully they will host me again Thank you both

Perfect spot to relax and unwind. The Spinney is beautifully furnished and plenty of room for 4. Rosie and her family are lovely.

A fantastic stay with Graeme & Gloria . The house and surroundings are so eco friendly. The chickens are very quiet and we loved having the use of tge garden. Top quality products were provided for breakfast and the presentation of the products was so nice. Attention to detail was exceptional and the book of recommendations was so helpful, including maps. Great Ousnourmevis a beautiful village. We ate at tge Lime Tree Inn and it was exceptional. Walking distance as well. We will definitely return and highly recommend. Fantastic hosts who work hard to make your stay perfect.

lovely stone annexe to Penny's house, in the pretty village of Carperby which is on a minor road so only local traffic. Very well appointed, all neat and clean. Penny is a great hostess and I really enjoyed my stay there. Thoroughly recommend.

Fantastic location overlooking marketplace in Masham with its beautiful Georgian buildings and independent shops. The apartment is spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. Good centre for visiting Ripon, Harrogate, Fountains etc.

We had a great week in this flat and would definitely return , Pubs & restaurants on your doorstep and a great balcony to sit out on and watch the world go by. Also Nick our host is a nice guy .

This is my second stay here. I cannot fault anything about the apartment. The bed is extremely comfortable, everything is exceptionally clean and there is plenty of hot water. It is in a great location within easy walking distance to Harrogate town centre and all the restaurants and bars. I would highly recommend staying here.

Lovely and clean. We only stopped 1 night as this was a stop off so we could get to our next destination. We arrived late after a long journey so didn’t explore the area. Instructions were clear to get to the property and how to access the key. Alison responded to our messages quite quickly.

We've already made 2 further bookings - that's how pleased we were with this property! Tim & Michelle are super hosts & easy to deal with. The apartment is comfortable, modern & imaculate. Great location with secure parking. Shops nearby & easy walking distance from the city centre.

Loved my stay here. The accommodation was clean and the photos resemble what the accommodation is like. The accommodation is in a peaceful area and I loved seeing the deer first thing in the morning. Graham gave excellent instructions as to how to get to the accommodation but was able to figure this out pretty easily by looking at the satellite feature on Google maps. Graham is really friendly and it is clear that they are passionate about the area that they live in. The breakfast spread is on another level of greatness! The fresh eggs are delicious! I hope to be back soon, it was absolutely wonderful. Thank you!

Janet and Mark were lovely hosts, their apartment was beautiful and they had all kinds of recommendations and local spots that helped us enjoy our stay - would definitely stay here again

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay , Ray very welcoming and helpful then left you alone to enjoy your stay , everything you needed and safe enclosure for my dog , very good butchers in the village lovely walking and Cod and Lobster in Staithes highly recommend , all in all very enjoyable very quiet , private and peaceful would definitely revisit and recommend

This really is a gem, fantastic value for money and in our opinion ticked all the boxes. Would not hesitate to recommend it to any one.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Shambles Secret. Jenny proved to be a first class host, who went above and beyond to make her guests happy; we cannot thank her enough. The flat was exactly as depicted in the pictures, lovely and cosy and a real home from home. We slept really well, and although the flat is right in the centre of York, it was remarkably quiet. We enjoyed our time in the flat as much as we did sightseeing in fabulous York. Shambles Secret really is right where you want to be, EVERYTHING was within walking distance. We had the most amazing time in your home Stuart and Angela. ❤️ You made us feel so welcome from the moment we stepped in. The views were breathtaking and the peace and quiet at the cottage was just what we needed. The views of the village, the sun set and the full moon were all beautiful gems we got to experience at Top of t’hill. You really have made it a cosy and comfortable stay, and it was a perfect getaway, away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The gym and sauna were great facilities that we benefitted and enjoyed too. Your eco environment friendly home and surroundings was an inspiration to us. Finally, your hospitality and kindness, and lovely chats with us made us feel like old friends! We loved our stay … the apartment was comfortable, light & airy with a pretty view out to the garden and the walls of York. Very easy walking distance to everything you would want to see & do in York. Great local restaurants. Could not recommend this apartment enough!!

Fabulous place to stay. Calm, peaceful and a beautiful view of the sea. I stayed with my husband and two children and we loved it. Lovely walk to pub down the road and only a short drive to Scarborough, Robin hoods bay and Whitby. Would definitely like to visit again!
