3 Railway Cottage is a fantastic base to explore the amazing beauty of North Yorkshire. The cottage is located a 20 minute walk from the centre of Pickering but is in a really quiet and private location. The only exception of course is the opportunity to wave at the heritage railway trains that pass at the back of the cottage a few times a day which is really amazing, especially if you wave from the comfort of the hot tub! I can’t recommend this location highly enough, it is a really comfortable and well equipped cottage in a fantastic location - what more could you ask for?

We had a fantastic stay here for 4 nights. It was beautifully clean and had everything and more we needed. Such lovely hosts, very responsive should you need them. Great location! Such an easy drive to a lot of places. We visited Whitby, Scarborough, Pickering, Thornton Le Dale and more! All under 1 hours drive away. Cottage is so homely and very welcoming 😊 Amazing that each room has their own en-suite. Beds are so comfy! Downstairs bedroom was great for us with someone in the party having mobility issues. Games room is a fabulous touch! Sauna and hot tub both very clean. Highly recommend to stay here. Thanks for a wonderful stay 🥰

Lovely cottage in a great location. Walking the surrounding area from the house was great and very near to a pub and tearoom which both served great food. The hot tub was an added bonus!

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely holiday home which is in a stunning location overlooking Robin Hoods Bay. It really was an unbeatable location. Steve was a fantastic host, giving us all the information we needed about the property and location. He also left us some welcome extras in the fridge 😊 The property was clean and well presented, and the hot tub and snooker room were enjoyable extras. We would happily return to this beautiful, peaceful spot in the future.

Really enjoyable stay. Everything was perfect, and I would return if I were back in the area. The location was peaceful, private, and surrounded by beautiful nature — exactly what I was hoping for. The space was spotless, cozy, and thoughtfully designed, with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable and relaxing getaway.

We had the most beautiful stay — the cottage was peaceful, private, and instantly felt like home. Everything was spotless and smelt amazing, with such a lovely, calming vibe throughout. The decor was gorgeous, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The hot tub was the perfect finishing touch for a truly relaxing weekend. The hosts went above and beyond with thoughtful details like fresh eggs in the morning and chocolates waiting for us on arrival. Communication was smooth and friendly from start to finish. You can really feel the care and effort put into every part of the stay. I’d absolutely recommend this place — it’s a little gem, and I’d love to return!

We have had a lovely holiday. We found the bungalow to be very clean, the sofas and beds were very comfortable and there was everything we needed for our stay. We couldn’t have asked for a better location , sitting in the garden or in the sunroom listening to the waves made for a very relaxing holiday. Lisa was a great host and we hope to return soon.

Excellent stay in Pickering, the house is exactly as described and more! Very well equipped and a real home from home. It is on one of the main roads but as others have said the thoughtful ear plugs made all the difference and we had no problem finding parking every day. This is a fantastic base for exploring the local area. Highly recommended

We’ve just returned from a fantastic stay and will definitely be returning. The house is beautiful and in a great location. Everything inside was clean and tidy and Jane (the host) was very prompt in communicating information about the location and check in. The house is very close to pubs, a restaurant and the beach. We didn’t bring our car down to the car park as we know RHB hill is very narrow, so we parked at the top of the bay and walked down. We have created some lovely memories here and will be back to create any more.

Winnow Cottage is a peaceful haven, nestled in beautiful surroundings and is a nature lover's paradise for watching the wildlife. The extra touch of fresh flowers and local produce provided by Sue was warm and inviting. Sue is an excellent host on all aspects. We travelled from Cornwall, which is a day's travel, but it was well worth the journey and we are hoping to return at some point in the future. We were somewhat emotional when leaving this beautiful home. Thank you Sue, for your hospitality and welcoming attention to detail.

I managed to book this at the hottest weekend with my dog that doesn’t do heat! Matthew and Jess were brilliant, they provided a fan, ice pops for us and the dog! They thought of everything and fabulous recommendations. Sadly my dog was not well and we had to leave almost as soon as we had arrived to get to my vets The place was gorgeous though, will definitely try to go back when it’s cooler!

Wow! What a fantastic place to stay. The cottage was a perfect haven for a relaxing holiday. The scenery was breathtaking, and we spent much of the time gazing out of the window at the dramatic weather and wildlife. We wished we could have stayed longer! Lovely stay in this lovely comfortable and very cute little cottage in the depths of Robin Hoods Bay very near to the pubs, restaurants and the sea. The host Richard was very friendly and informative as was his lady who looked after the cottage who owns the fabulous little pet shop - check it out if you have a dog! Thankyou to Richard and Cath for leaving us a bottle of wine and some delicious border biscuits. Would definitely recommend this little cottage to others ❤️

A lovely property with everything you need in an absolutely stunning area. This place really is an escape to the country. Everything is provided, you just need your food. Jess is a helpful host and very responsive. We all enjoyed our stay.

Jackie was a great host, the accommodation was lovely, clean and fresh, everywhere was clean and perfect liked being home from home, felt safe and has all you need. Beautiful and peaceful surroundings, shops not too far away that served great produce, great if you like walking and roads are great to surrounding areas.

We have thoroughly enjoyed an all too brief, relaxing stay at Tarrs Yard. From entering the charming cottage, to leaving, one can't fail to be impressed by all that Lizzie and Andy have so stylishly created. The helpful, informative folder inside the cottage provides for guests' range of interests and enables visitors to capitalise on the hosts' wealth of knowledge and experience of the area. We can't wait to return and anticipate discovering more of what this area affords, whilst assured of a restful, peaceful property to daily return to. Our second stay in this beautiful holiday home. Immaculately presented and lovely hosts. Great location, quiet but ideal for walkers and those on driving holidays. Also excellent for any one with mobility problems. Handy for Dalby Forest, Whitby, Pickering, Scarborough and the many lanes less travelled, fabulous scenic views and picturesque villages that North Yorkshire Moors has to offer. Also handy for the North Yorks Steam Railway. Our favourite and most perfect holiday haven and we will return again in the future.

First-class accommodation in a peaceful setting with great views. Fran and Andy could not have been more friendly and helpful. The brownies Fran left for us were the best we've ever tasted! We were lucky enough to see the owl on several occasions. Hope to return in the future.

Thank you for a lovely stay. Extremely tranquil and relaxing, very clean, not too expensive. The surrounding forest is breathtaking and the hosts extremely nice, we appreciate all the recommendations for activities in the area. Most importantly, couldn't imagine a better place to take our dog to. 10/10

Excellent stay at The Piggery. Molly made sure we had all the info we needed prior to arriving. The place itself is beautiful! The weather was quite cold while we were there so we couldn't really make use of the stunning balcony with amazing views! I imagine it is brilliant in the summer. Plenty of shops in Sleight village within a 10/15 minute walk. Train station to get to Whitby is around a 20 minute walk from The Piggery.
