Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Nordland

The views for this place were even better than the pictures can portray! There was a view outside of every window! The host was easy to communicate with and made it feel so welcome! This cabin feels like it's loved and part of a family. Such an incredible spot!

Stein-Ove and Marita are the best possible hosts, as they do their ultimate best to make sure that their guests have a phenomenal experience, in their fabulous house, in the unique environment of Lofoten. What stands out the most, from my view, is that the guests get the real experience of real life in such remote area of the world. This was my and my wife's intention, totally fulfilled beyond expectations, and we will never forget what we saw and how we felt. The house is situated in a magnificent location, between splendid mountains and coastline, and still easily accessible via a road where there is very little traffic, which ensure total peace. We felt what it means to have a family life in Lofoten, basically the experience cannot be more authentic, truly. Needless to say, the house was spotlessly clean and had all facilities to feel at home, e.g. we could use the kitchen to have a peaceful dinner overlooking the ocean. In brief, if you want the real experience, do book this house!

Elin's house was very cozy and very clean, I totally recommend it, Hans greeted us with these words "Welcome to paradise", and the truth is that it was, a very quiet and cozy place, the house has a dock and we had a Kayak to use, thanks to Hans for the fish he gave us, it was very tasty.

Very good and pleasant stay at Gima's. Accommodation as described, clean, tastefully decorated and the view is just wow😍. Large, warm living room. Spacious kitchen with plenty of dishes. The exchanges with Gima were simple, friendly and fast. The train passage did not bother us. (a few trains in the evening that pass quickly). Bus stop for the airport and the center of Bodo where the university is very close. Small details about the rooms that did not disturb our stay but may be useful to travelers: 1 bedroom with 2 single beds, the other 2 are smaller but perfect with 1 single bed. If an extra bed is added in 1 of its rooms to allow 5 adults to stay, it becomes really small and the storage of things is less easy for a stay exceeding 1 week, which was our case. In summary, very good stay at Gima 😉

Our trip to Bodø was a resounding success due in no small part to the comfortable lodging in Christine’s and Aleksander’s home. The home features 3 bedrooms (2 double beds and 1 single bedrooms), modern bathroom & kitchen, and access to indoor garage parking. The second level has an amazing, picturesque view of the mountains across the fjord. It is also minutes walking to Nord University and the main road is accessible for a 10 min drive downtown.

We had a lovely stay at Beatte & Håvard's cabin. They made us feel right at home including special touches like having a few toys for our 6 year old. The location was magical and our only regret is that we only booked for 4 nights instead of longer. Everything is set up to be cozy and peaceful. They had great recommendations for local hikes and went above and beyond to answer our questions. Definitely recommend!

Per was an exceptional host! Out of 100 stays, he is by far the best host we have had. Per made sure everything was perfect for the stay. The kids loved the snow on the farm and Per sorted out a sledding hill for them along with all the bits and bobs needed to enjoy the cold weather. He went above and beyond and I am grateful for the hospitality and love that he showed myself, wife, and three kids. Thank you!

Jonathan’s rental house in Fjordgård was simply wonderful. Right on the water in a small town in Senja. Hiking trails to Hesten mountain and other locations are literally right outside the door! A floating sauna, which can be rented by the hour is a few doors down. The house is comfortably furnished with modern and extremely comfortable design. Four bedrooms upstairs were just right for our party of six. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful and peaceful surroundings . Lovely and cosy house. Felt right at home. Well located - close to Leknes (just 15 mins away) and most tourist spots are within 30 minutes. Host is responsive and has an efficient streamlined system. Instructions are crisp and direct. We recommend :)

Very friendly and accommodating host couple. We spent four wonderful weeks in this very nice accommodation. The service was perfect. The hostess even took us on her dog walks. Not only were we thrilled, but our dog Buddy also felt at home from the start and picked up his treats day after day. The personal excursion tips were also particularly valuable. Perfect place to stay especially if you arriving into Senja via ferry since it's very close to it. This airbnb is also about 15-20 mins to the trailhead for Barden, Hesten, and Segla, two of which I got to do. There's a 24h convenience store also close to the trailhead for Segla / Hesten. The place is huge and I was traveling by myself, I appreciate the cleanliness and the availability of kitchen utensils and spices (although I wish there was sugar). The place also smelled nice, they picked the right scents. Host is very responsive, I felt assured cause I was arriving late, so it was good he is very quick with responses. Would love to stay here again if I get to visit Senja again.

If you’re looking for a place to relax with family, this is a perfect fit. The rental is spacious and well appointed. Everything you need for cooking is available as well as a grocery store just a few minutes away by car. Sven is helpful and responsive to questions. The environment is quiet, scenic, and peaceful.

Very cozy and spacious apartment. Individually and tastefully furnished. There was everything you need. The toilet and the separate bathroom were very clean. Beds are very comfortable. Check-in was hassle-free. The hosts respond quickly to messages and are very helpful and friendly. A wonderful place to relax after the whale safari and the hikes in the area.

Anne Lise is a wonderful, responsive and available host. He helped us with all the information we needed. Nusfjord is a paradise on earth. I couldn't recommend staying in Nusfjord and at Anne Lise's accommodation any more. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, we felt at home. The fact that there is a private parking space at the door is incredible. The local population in Nusfjord is very friendly and helpful. The bakery is wonderful, the best in Lofoten. We were also lucky enough to be visited by a friendly couple of rabbits, who happily hopped through the forest behind the house. Everything is wonderful there! I totally recommend it. Very nice apartment, with everything you need. Wonderful view on all sides from the apartment. Let us show you the hike into the mountains. From above, you have a gigantic view. Definitely recommended!

Helpful and kind host.

The stay was really very nice, unfortunately only a little too short, as we only used the accommodation as a stopover. We would have liked to stay longer to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere right on the water even more. The apartment was very clean, lovingly furnished and extremely cozy – you immediately feel comfortable. Would love to come again anytime.

The accommodation is located outside of Svolvær. But it can be reached by car within a few minutes. The location is quiet and is adjacent to a forest and lake. The apartment is furnished with a lot of love and you feel very comfortable right away. Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted by Peder and his cat. He took the time to show and explain everything to us. The apartment also has a terrace, incl. Grill. Top, we would definitely book this apartment again.

We had the pleasure of staying 8 days over Easter at Roger's apartment in Ballstad. We have traveled home incredibly happy and satisfied. The apartment is lovely and central with walking distance to everything from shopping to hiking routes to bus stop. Check-in was super easy and no problem. The apartment lived up to the photos. The bed and duvets were great. The bathroom had a great shower and was clean and tidy. The kitchen lacked nothing and the living room invited for coziness. Outside there was a table and bench we had lunch by and enjoyed the view. It was a great luxury that we didn't have to clean the head, just put the towels in the laundry basket. Thank you for that. All in all, we felt incredibly at home, and could have easily taken another week. We would recommend the place and Roger as a host to anyone who would like to visit Ballstad. Roger was a great host who helped us get home as no buses drove from Ballstad. 100% worth a visit and a place we want to come back to.

Good and easy communication, cozy basement apartment ideal for 3 people, very clean and enough storage space for luggage. Overall, highly recommended would book it again.

Practical and cosy stay in Henningsvær! Easy to find and self-check-in to. Compact yet well-designed apartment in a peaceful private area. The place was modern, sparkling clean, and had everything we needed for our short stay driving around in Lofoten (parking right outside, kitchen with dish washer and bathroom with laundry machine were especially appreciated). Would stay again and recommend to everyone. The host was also very kind, helpful and fast to respond when we booked at short notice. Thanks!
