Cottage holiday rentals in Nine Mile Burn

Probably the best Air B&B we have ever stayed in, and we have stayed in a lot! Fabulous scenery with wildlife outside your door. Welcome pack included roses, wine and the best home made lemon drizzle cake we’ve ever tasted. Unfortunately we had to leave a couple of days early due to my health, but we will be back at some stage, that’s for sure.

An absolute stunning break, our third time here. A quiet, comfortable home and a spectacular garden space for my autistic son to be himself, and my 3 Chihuahuas felt like they were in heaven. The hot tub was well used, even my elderly mum had a go. We had some lovely visits to the surrounding areas but mostly enjoyed the rest and relaxation that we all needed. We can’t wait to come back again.

We absolutely loved staying at the cottage. This was our third place during our Scotland trip and I am so glad we booked it. It allowed us to explore more nature scenes across Scotland and simply have a safe and comfortable home after exploring all day. If we are ever in Scotland again, we will certainly book again.

A tranquil and peaceful stay in this spacious and well equipped cottage. We were well looked after by Jenny and co. and felt totally relaxed. Enjoyed our interactions with farm life, which included birthing a lamb, petting the donkies and seeing the newborn kittens, it made our stay very special. The house is well located for trips into Edinburgh and Glasgow, or to enjoy nearby countryside. You won't regret it!

We had a wonderful stay for our mini moon!! Our hosts where friendly and helpful we invited them for a drink with us it was fantastic knowing how they designed the place and their lives and points of interest for us to look out for. We enjoyed the hot tub so much and using the BBQ!! Was tidy and comfortable perfect for a couples get away. I highly recommend staying here the bus stop was just a minute walk from the front door and so close to Edinburgh!!

I totally recommend going to this little cottage , Loved everything about , hottub was always hot , The bed is so comfy and the cortage is always hot enough . Shower is always hot . It feels just like home and I will defo be back again some other time

The location was amazing. It was incredibly peaceful and very close to West Linton where my family is located. There was enough space so the 5 of us weren't on top of each other. The cows were fun to watch and came up to the fence for a scratch. I would definitely stay at Susan's beatiful location again.

A haven in the Scottish countryside, this cottage was completely charming. Loved that the resident sheep come and go from their pasture at their pleasure. Very friendly hosts provided everything required. Fairly convenient to Dunfermline for groceries and trains into Edinburgh. Thank you!

Beautiful, peaceful cottage next to a working farm and only a 20 minute drive to local amenities. Was exactly what we needed, perfect for a long weekend get away with the in-laws and doggo. Very clean, all as described including the fenced garden, picnic bench, selection of board games and supplied linens. We really appreciated the bottle of Cows of Covington milk, tea /coffee and cookies when we arrived! Would highly recommend if you're looking for peace, countryside and interesting walks, although very drivable to a load of different attractions.

What an absolute gem of a place. Peace and tranquility, with easy access to walks in the area and easy enough to get into Edinburgh if you want to. Cosy and stylishly decorated with absolutely everything you need for a comfortable break. Would highly recommend.

We were three adults, retirement age, in the Borders for the Melrose Sevens Rugby tournament, and stayed 6 nights. Dairy Cottage was a really excellent choice of accommodation, equipped with everything we could need, and really comfortable. The setting - in the grounds of an estate with a "grand house" - was delightful: green woodland with what seems like miles of paths and loops for limitless choices of walks. The gardens are really well-kept and tended, and the lake is beautiful. No doubt it is a great habitat for all sorts of wildlife, and indeed I have never heard such LOUD and varied birdsong! It's a very short walk (typically 6 minutes for me) into Selkirk town, where we patronised 5 different places for evening meals, all of which were very good. I would not hesitate to stay here again. We had a lovely stay at this farm cottage. The place was just what we needed, peaceful and comfortable. Communication with the host was easy and smooth throughout, which made everything really straightforward. It’s a great spot if you’re after a quiet countryside break. Would definitely stay again!

Terrific hosts and a great location to explore Edinburgh.

Walstone Bothy was perfect for our needs as 4 adults and a toddler. It was clean, quiet, very comfortable, well equipped and the courtyard seating area was very pleasant. We stayed in unusually hot weather (27 degrees) so the shade in the courtyard was welcome. Downstairs was beautifully cool though the upstairs bedrooms certainly needed the fans provided. John was friendly and helpful recommending walking routes. We look forward to coming back.

From initial contact to final handshake Wasim was open and friendly. Set in private parking area next to his shop this cottage was immaculate with just the perfect amount of fixtures and fittings to ensure plenty of space. Welcoming pint of milk, biscuits and a note were excellent and appreciated personal touches. Undoubtedly recommend for anyone planning trip in the area!

The property is amazing, the house is a little gem filled with charm. The gardens and the architecture is a treat for any foreigner or national. It’s far from everything but quiet and secluded. If you are looking for city activities look somewhere else. Will come back if we head back this way.

What a beautiful spot! Very quiet. We all slept very well! Wish we could have stayed longer to appreciate the beautiful surroundings. It is a little remote so if you don’t have a car (which we didn’t) may end up being a little expensive going in and out of Edinburgh, but we always got an Uber when we wanted one. Perfect for walkers and cyclists. Wish we had time to explore the area more. We may be back! Thanks, Kerry!

That was probably the best stay we've ever had or ever will. The place is beautiful and the cottage was lovely and comfortable. It is in a calm place, but if you have a car everything you need is at a 5 minutes distance. Last but definitely not least, the host is exceptional. She was forthcoming, considerate and welcoming, but never intrusive. She gave us lots of helpful tips and recommandations. Most of all, she added a special touch to everything. She even got us a cake for my girlfriend's birthday. Truly a blessed soul. We were almost sad to leave and would stay there again if we come back in Scotland.

We stayed 5 nights the end of May when all the flowering shrubs were in bloom. Its was truly a beautiful scene. We liked the quiet nature for walks on the property. We did some cycling trips from there also using the local train and cycle shop rental. The kitchen was great though we didn’t cook much. The local golf course had great food(vegan too) so we ate there several times. Everyone was so friendly in West Calder. We enjoyed a cosey fire one night. Nicola was very friendly, quick to respond for small stuff she rectified. I would love to return.

From check-in to check-out, Johanna's communication was quick and helpful. The house was spacious, spotless, peaceful and beautiful. It offered complete privacy even though it adjoins the main house. We arrived to find milk, eggs, bread and treats in the kitchen, which I greatly appreciated. The attention to detail, from the binder full of brochures and recommendations to the fresh flowers to even the first aid kit, the attention to detail was thoughtful and professional. The house overlooks farmland which feels remote and private but is only a short drive to the Ingliston Park and Ride that takes you to city centre. We attended Hidden Door, which took place just 3 miles down the road, so it was an especially convenient location for us. Pulling out of the driveway was a little dicey for me but I managed. Streaming and wifi were flawless and the sunroom and patio were inviting. I look forward to staying here again when I return to Scotland. Thanks for being such a gracious host, Johanna
