Our self-contained studio is situated away from the main house and is ideal for a couple, solo adventurers, and business travellers. We provide a comfy bed and continental breakfast. The studio has beautiful views across farmlands to the Tararua Mountain Ranges and sea views the other side. A 10min stroll takes you to our picturesque beach, via scenic walkways. Peka Peka Beach is great for swimming, walking, or just sitting and relaxing. There are masses of tracks and trails accessible from here and within the Kapiti area, for biking and walking or tramping. A trip to Kapiti Island from Paraparaumu, is a must for nature lovers. For those wanting a more relaxed stay, there are really good cafes and restaurants nearby. Harrison's Garden Cafe in Peka Peka, is great and there is a good variety of eateries at Waikanae Beach. The Shoreline Cinema in Waikanae Township, 5 mins drive away, also for coffee and cake, or well selected wines.

The Gecko Bach, Tiny Home Accomodation

Continental breakfast provided for first 2nights of your stay. The Bach is small but big on comfort- hopefully there is everything you need! An outdoor bath & use of our spa. Only 2min walk to coffee & walking tracks; 8-10 min walk to train/bus station, supermarkets, library, restaurants, cafes. Raumati Bch & shops are a 20min walk or catch a bus -bus stop outside the gate We are a smoke/vape free property. Listed for 4 using pallet couch as double bed. We hope you have a wonderful stay :)

The guest suite occupies the downstairs portion of our house. It is self contained with a private entrance from a deck leading to the garden. It has a large master bedroom, a lounge with kitchenette & separate bathroom. The bathroom is bright, light & has modern fittings with shower, WC & vanity. The lounge includes a sofa bed, window seat, dining area & kitchenette, with facilities to self cater if required. There is a garden gate which gives access to the nature reserve, river and beach.

Once you have finished relaxing you can go for a mountain bike ride and choose from 20 tracks. Cold? No problem, the fire will be set up ready to light upon arrival. Cheese board and wine supplied when you arrive and a breakfast basket of locally sourced/ NZ made produce all included in your stay. Don't forget your togs for the hot tub with an incredible view.

The studio is self contained and independent from the main house on a 2.5 acre lifestyle property, with your own separate driveway. The studio is modern and comfortable and the furnishings picked out to create a restful, comfortable space. There is a small separate bedroom with queen bed, bathroom, large lounge and dining, and small kitchenette. The property is pretty with many large trees, a stream, boardwalk, pergola, chickens, and native birds.

In the main living area there is a double size pull out sofabed and comfortable seating and dining plus a 75 inch smart TV and Sky TV. The bedroom has a small TV with a chromecast . New purpose built studio. Clean, fresh and light, double glazing and insulation. Private with own entrance and off street parking. Popular Raumati Beach ( safe swimming, surf casting, water sports) is down a shared driveway one minute away. There is a small deck and sunny outdoor seating area. The studio is accessed up stairs so not suitable for guests with limited physical ability. Short walk to Raumati Village.

I really loved my stay. I just wanted a place to rest and write in beautiful surroundings and that is exactly what I got. Because the unit is situated in this lovely big garden, set way back off the street, yet within easy walking and driving distance from shops, it suited my purposes perfectly. Russell and Louise were very welcoming when I arrived and made me feel right at home. I would happily stay there again.

An absolutely lovely little getaway. The house is beautiful, warm, modern and cosy and has everything you need. The garden is private and lots of options for sitting outside and taking in the great view! We could hear tui and the beach from the garden. Great location, 3 min walk to the beautiful Otaihanga domain and river walk down to the estuary and beach or up to waikanae. Great for the dogs! Really handy to paraparumu, pubs, cafes, and shops. Lucy was a dream host - super helpful and kind. Thanks for having us, we will definitely be back!

I really loved staying at Jo’s place. It was super cosy and very well kitted out. The place was spotless. Jo gave tonnes of local recommendations and offered an earlier check in that day. She clearly takes great pride in this property. I would definitely recommend to a friend for a beach retreat/ peaceful getaway

Our second stay, was lovely and warm as gets all day sun. The addition of an induction cook top was great. Love the location and views. You can’t beat a winter sunset in Otaki! Our first evening/next day was very windy and the windows got covered in salt spray but there is a hose on the deck so was easy to rinse the windows and have the beautiful view restored in no time.
