We loved our stay in Wakefield. Lynda's place is so lovely and full of charm and character. Located right on the main street in Wakefield you're steps away from local restaurants, the boardwalk along the river, shops and walking trails. We visit Wakefield often and stayed here while our house was getting some work done. The apartment was clean, cosy and comfortable. Really enjoyable stay.

Der's place is very peaceful, perfect for either a single person or a couple. It's also super close to Ottawa, just a 10-minute ride away!

We have stayed in dozens of Airbnb in the US, Canada and Europe. Peter’s apartment is our all-time favorite—Spacious rooms, two bathrooms, well appointed kitchen and baths, and easy access. Peter is friendly and helpful, and the neighborhood is lovely—right on the Rideau River. 10 out or 10!

Just as described, this is a very good place to stay if you're spending a few days in Ottawa. Clean space with all amenities in tip top condition. Having the microwave and the toaster around was really helpful since I was bringing home food almost every day to consume the next day. Used the bath tub a couple times without issue. I did not like the organic coffee capsule available but the coffee machine works fine. Also, there is a heating tower in the room which came in handy since it can get cold in the room. As for things to do, I mainly went to Ottawa to watch the VNL games which were a 13 minutes away by foot (at TD place). However, I walked along the canal going all the way to parliament hill and back. If you like walking/biking/running, this place will fit like a glove. All in all, an excellent experience. Would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely stunning setting and a very clean and well appointed rental. Charming vibe and super cozy set up. Amazing master suite and also very comfortable secondary suite. My family all felt “right at home” and we would definitely consider returning on our next visit to the Ottawa area. Jumped in the Ottawa River on May 18th and can attest to the cleanliness of the water and the nice sandy beach! Exceptional place to relax, refresh and recharge! The house was very beautiful and the environment very quiet. Everything is well equipped and well appointed. The only small thing that displeased us a little was that there was hair in one of the beds when we arrived. The dishes were also sometimes dirty, but I think it's the responsibility of the former tenants. The location is great, close to amenities.

This cabin was an absolute dream for our mothers' first visit to Canada! We were looking for something special, and this place exceeded all expectations. The location was ideal – a perfect blend of natural beauty and proximity to the city. What truly amazed us was how much more beautiful it was in person compared to the already great photos. The serene lake view, the perfectly stocked kitchen, and the immaculate cleanliness all contributed to an unforgettable stay. You can feel the warmth and care in every detail. The hosts were also fantastic, with quick and kind communication. They even helped us retrieve keys we'd accidentally left behind! We can't wait to return and highly recommend this incredible retreat.

We had such an amazing time. Never a moment of "what to do next". The house was very clean and well equipped. Really all you need is a toothbrush, and you're good to go. 😆 Our nights of sitting around the campfire, playing pool, board games, and paddle boarding will forever be a memorable vacation. The amount of board games is incredible! Though to me the paddle board was everything. Laying on that board out in the middle of the water in complete silence..there's nothing like it. Such a peaceful spot. Highly recommend, and will absolutely be visiting again. Also, downtown being close, was key. Our first day was spent walking throughout the city enjoying all of the amazing architecture, Museums and visiting the ByWard Market. The amount of food and shopping is fantastic. Another must see is the Diefenbunker. We spent 3 hours touring the 4 underground levels. You have opened our eyes on just how beautiful Ottawa is, and we look forward to our next journey there. Again, ty. 💕

Some places are just houses. Others hold space and pause. From the first moment we walked in, "The River Retreat" welcomed us like a warm hug. My siblings and I came here to honour the one-year anniversary of our mother’s passing, and it ended up being exactly what we needed. Peaceful, cozy, and full of thoughtful touches. Every room, view, and amenity gave us a chance to breathe, reflect, and spend quality family time together. We tried all the amenities, including the hot tub, canoe, kayaks, fire pit, and pool table. But our favourite pass time and location was definitely the home cooked meals around the round table overlooking the river. We left feeling full in every sense. Thank you Marlene and Morgan for being such fantastic hosts! We’ll absolutely be back.

The house was very nice and had everything we needed. The host was also very kind and helpful and even left us a welcome gift. Be aware that the stairs and doors make a lot of noise, as it is an older house - but I imagine if everyone in the house goes to sleep around the same time, this wouldn't be much of an issue. The surrounding neighbourhood was beautiful. We enjoyed our stay!
