Holiday rentals with a kayak in Nelson County

Great space. Clean & had all necessities. Great communication. Loved the dog run for our little guys (but if your dog is tiny & doesn't listen well, they can go under gates & between hinge area). Porches were relaxing & stayed dry during the heavy rainfall. Lots of room to spread out. Although the front door is accessible, if you're wheelchair bound, the bedrooms & bathrooms are not accessible. Our wheelchair bound son used the futon in pool room, but once open you can not fit wheelchair between futon & pool table. We made due & had a nice stay. The kitchen table was large & nice for family meals, but again not wheelchair friendly (it's about an inch too low due to the trim along bottom & hit his knees). This is a WONDERFUL home, just want to be sure "wheelchair families" are aware that there are limitations. We enjoyed the gas logs, it was stormy & chilly, they made it cozy. Very dog friendly, no need to pack much more than their food. John even had dog toys! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We have stayed at many Airbnb's, but this one was by far the most special. We've had quiet locations, but no schoolhouses with a private pond. We've had friendly hosts, but none offered to show us around her art gallery. There have been attractions near the homes, but nothing like the serene hiking trails just up the road. Elise was an exceptionally kind, responsive, and hospitable host. From the food that was offered on arrival to getting to feed and pet goats (!), Elise really cared about our time there and made our weekend all the more special. For those few days, that Airbnb really felt like home. Thank you, Elise, and we can't wait to come back!

It was a lovely cottage. It was peaceful , private and had a nice screened in porch. I loved the beautiful pine wood and the windows. Connor was a terrific host. He was proactive and responsive to all my questions. If I was visiting Schuyler I would definitely stay at this Airbnb. Thanks for a memorable stay!

What a fantastic place to escape the hustle and bustle. Very relaxing. Beautiful view. I would highly recommend bringing food to eat on the patio so you can enjoy the view as much as possible. Hosts were very responsive . Just sit back and relax. We had 4 adult couples and had plenty of room. Very spacious. We will be back.

My family and I truly enjoyed our stay. My husband took our kids (ages 10 and 7) fishing on the property, which they absolutely loved. We spent time swimming in the pool and hiking the beautiful surroundings. We also visited the nearby Virginia Safari Park and Natural Bridge Park—both were wonderful day trips. The host was fantastic, and the property was peaceful and relaxing. We’d love to come back!

John's Cabin is even more beautiful than the photos. Came for UVA's graduation with my husband and our in laws and had an amazing time. It was difficult leaving the cabin because of how peaceful it was, but when we did we found delicious food and winery options. Totally would return!

Stay was great. Hike up to Crabtree falls was amazing. Definitely a great place to disconnect from the phone with no WiFi and connect to each other and nature . Beautiful property!

Words cannot describe the feeling of pure calm that comes over you when you arrive. This place is truly a treasure hidden in the woods. Once you cross the creek you leave the world and all your cares behind. The host pays attention to all the little details and it shows. We have stayed at quite a few places but this one is on our return list. We look forward to sliding up for a long weekend in the late fall or early winter. (Tip- be sure to spend 15 min reading the welcome package it is time well spent).

WOW! This was the nicest place we’ve ever stayed, it’s better than the pictures. It’s so secluded and peaceful, we felt like we were in our own world. The pictures also don’t show the various amenities around the property!! We enjoyed sitting in the sun by the peaceful ponds and enjoying the mountain views :) so amazing!!

Our group had a lovely stay at the cabin. We loved relaxing on the porch surrounded by the beautiful peaceful grounds and we enjoyed visiting the nearby wineries. Mary Stuart was very kind and responsive throughout our stay. Highly recommend and would definitely come back in the future!
