Holiday rentals with lake access in Nelson

Wow! We had such an amazing time at the Rusty Bear…we didn’t want to leave! The location is incredible, just a few steps from the water. The sauna and running down to the lake combo comes highly recommended! The trains were not a bother at all but glad of the warning as the horn is loud haha! There are amazing trails just down the road, the bakery is amazing - great pizzas on Fridays and really good coffee and baked goods (the famous cinnamon buns did not disappoint!). The house was super clean, and the little dog touches were really stand out - beds, toys, biscuits! It’s a great spot for dogs. There are neighbours close but you can’t see them at all from the property and hardly even from the beach. So wonderfully idyllic

The perfect lakefront escape! This cabin is the jackpot—a private beach, all the nature & cabin vibes, and enough space to fit my modern family of five plus our two fur babies. The cabin is spacious, comfy, quirky layout and everything you could possibly need from games, kitchen wear to towels & more. Great communication with Craig, easy to get into. If you’re craving a secluded, serene spot by the lake, this is it.

If I could give more than five stars, I certainly would. This place is fantastic, offering a beautiful house with all the necessary amenities. Situated in a picturesque location, it affords numerous opportunities for outdoor recreation. Our hosts were remarkable, always willing to go the extra mile to assist us, and they also had a lovely dogs with whom we greatly enjoyed spending time. I would be delighted to return as soon as possible. Highly recommended. 👌

We stayed at Kim's cabin over Christmas and it was a great choice. The cosy, wooden interior, the log fireplace, and the moody views across the lake really made it a special stay. The open layout of the main living area makes for a great group hang-out space. - the well stocked kitchen overlooks the living space, with an island with stools in-between - perfect for laying out spreads for people to graze! The dining area to the side, while removed slightly from the main area, is still very open and holding conversations between the 3 areas was seamless We only used the 2 downstairs bedrooms and the furnishings were good and in-keeping with the cosy and rustic feel. We made use of both the sauna and jacuzzi tub, and both worked well. As a group of just 4 we fit very comfortably, but even with 6 I feel there'd be plenty of room to hang out together, or spread out and have your own space if you wanted. Overall a very comfortable property than captures the warm vibe of the Kootenays.

Kat and Mike were amazing hosts! They made us feel so at home with personalized creamer for our coffee in the fridge and a welcome card along with a welcome basket! The house is even better than the pictures and the location is beautiful with a short walk to the beach!

Fantastic stay at the Hidden Half Mile Lake House! This is a beautiful home in a beautiful setting. We were blown away by the views from every aspect of the house including the hot tub! Attention to detail was amazing and everything was top spec. Despite being within walking distance of Nelson there is a feeling of peace and tranquility around the area. The hosts do a brilliant job of keeping the house in great condition and Jake went out of his way to come by and blow up the paddle boards for our use! It’s not at all surprising that this house was recently listed as one of the best AirBnBs in Canada. We would thoroughly recommend anyone to book this place and we would love to return one day! This is a wonderful property in a fabulous location overlooking Kootenay Lake. 6 of us including a 90 year old father enjoyed the spacious open plan living area making extensive use of the kitchen. All of us thought the mattresses excellent for comfort! We had a number of things to ask James and he was endlessly responsive. We would happily stay here again!

What a wonderful place to stay. The house was clean and pleasant . Loved having a wood stove for cooler evenings. Wade was very friendly. He met us when we arrived. He had a fresh loaf of French bread and butter for our arrival as well as eggs from his beautiful chickens. The beds were comfortable and each couple was able to have their own space to relax. Loved how the setting was in the trees. It felt like a nature hug every time we arrived back at the home. The porch out front was wonderful to hang out on. Lots of seating and a great area for eating or card games. The area has great walking trails and the beach is just a quick drive or small hike whichever you prefer. Had a wonderful time. Very relaxing and would highly recommend.

We had a great stay in Ainsworth. Spent two nights—nice and central to both Nelson and Kaslo, which made for easy day trips in either direction. The hot springs are right across the street, which was a huge bonus and super convenient for relaxing. The place itself was clean and well-equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed, and we really appreciated the BBQ outside for evening meals. The only downside (for an espresso lover like me) is that there’s nothing within walking distance for a good coffee. That said, they do provide a drip coffee maker, which was appreciated.

Maria was such a delightful host. She greeted us upon arrival and made sure we had everything we needed including some restaurant recommendations. The apartment was exactly how it is described and it was very well appointed with a lot of personal touches. We would definitely reserve this unit or another of her places if we return to Nelson. What a great little spot. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

Will stay again

This was a perfect place to stay for our week away. We had 2 dogs with us who loved the water. The hosts were extremely accommodating and we felt right at home. The place was immaculately clean, and we had everything we could have needed for a beach vacation.

We absolutely loved the cottage and will definitely be back. I love that it was fairly central and easy to get to Nelson (about 10-12 min drive) but felt like a cabin in the woods with beautiful views of water and mountains. The wood burning stove was amazing and made the place so cozy. We brought some games from home but there was a good selection there already. It actually felt bigger than the photos online, especially the kitchen. We can’t wait for our next trip.

The cottage was exactly what I needed for a long, relaxing vacation with my dogs! Very comfortable, spotlessly clean, and stocked with everything we needed. Natalie went above and beyond in helping and providing personalized recommendations. The area was great for exploring, getting away from it all, and truly getting the chance to unwind. We will absolutely be back!
