You will have full access to your own private, sandy beach (directly behind the home) with amazing sunset views and great fishing. We provide 3 adult kayaks, one double and one child (under 150 pounds), and a pedal boat. Great outdoor fire-pit for s’mores and memories.

Oakbrook Akers Lakeside Cabin Retreat

Located in the heart of the country, Oakbrook Akers Cabin is an absolute retreat! Relax on the many porches overlooking the pond, take time to meander to the docks to fish, enjoy s'mores over the stone fire pit or spend the evening at the grilling station in our covered patio. In the winter, tuck yourself away in the cozy cabin complete with a wood burner, having a movie or game night (with popcorn of course)! Built by my father, we hope you cherish your time spent here just as our family has.

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. This rustic retreat is located on the Illinois river and adjacent to the 5,255 acre National Wildlife Refuge. Whether you fish, watch wildlife from the back deck, relax by firepit or go duck hunting on the bay, you are sure to enjoy this peaceful stay with your family and friends. Wildlife includes bald eagles, whitetail deer, fox, herons, egrets and over 100 species of songbirds. Native prairie trails adjacent to property as well.
