The space is a newly renovated, tastefully decorated, one bedroom basement area, in a 1927 character home. Complete with all modern appliances, as well as some antiques added to enhance its charm. The ceiling is 6 '4" ( 1.93M) so if you play basketball this may not be a good match for you. Very centrally located on a quiet street, 2 blocks from the seawall and marina, walking distance to DT shopping, restaurants, pubs, Art Gallery, Port Theater, etc. 1 block to bus stop, 2 min. drive to ferry.

Carriage House on the Rock is a two minute walk to Westwood Lake Park that offers world-class mountain bike trails and hiking. A cozy one bedroom carriage house that is fully appointed. A 6km walk around the lake, or if you are feeling adventurous, a 3 hour hike up Mount Benson and its amazing views are nearby. Only three km to downtown, & float planes to Vancouver. Walking distance to VIU, Aquatic Center, and Nanaimo Ice Center. We are centrally located but offer a quiet remote getaway.

Five minute drive to Departure Bay ferry (or 15-20 min walk); 15 minute walk along beautiful seawall, (directly across the street and down the hill), to seaplanes and downtown, where you'll find shopping, the Nanaimo Art Gallery, Nanaimo Museum, The Port Theatre, Nanaimo Conference Centre, as well as several restaurants, coffee shops, and pubs. Welcome to your home away from home! Enjoy your stay in the private studio of a house that was built in 2017 and is well looked after and loved. Close to Vancouver Island University, Nanaimo Aquatic Centre, Nanaimo Ice Centre and Nanaimo Harbour. Central to both major ferry terminals with driving time of approximately 12 mins to each and approximately 15 mins to the airport. There is a shopping complex nearby that features Quality Foods, Coop Gas Station, liquor store and pharmacy.

1 Bedroom suite with 2 double beds, a full kitchen, living room with a 40 inch TV and a dining table. A washer and dryer and a full 3 piece washroom is in the suite. EV charger available for additional charge. The location is in south Nanaimo. We are a 15 minute drive from downtown and the Airport, 10 minutes from Duke Point and about 10 minutes from VIU. Nanaimo River Park is a short drive away. Cedar is 10 minutes away. There is transit near by with a walk from the bus stop.

Your room has a covered entry and is accessed by 4 outside steps. You will have your own private washroom with a tub and shower, outdoor seating space, and free parking. Owners live upstairs. Washer/dryer available for longer stays. No pets.

Old City Quarter Miners Cottage

Private small one bedroom miners cottage in quite downtown neighborhood. Close to many amenities, VIU & hospital. Easy walk to the seawall, shopping and many restaurants. The cottage is set in a lovely garden with seating under the gazeboor under the grape arbor. Both hosts John and Marc are artists and have a small show room on the property that we a happy to open if our guests have a desire to see more of our art. Sorry we are unable to accept same day guests.
