The place is perfect with a beautiful view of the Kalang river and close to the beach as well. With the kayaks at the property, it was so much fun to paddle around on the river. There is a shell gas station right across the street which makes it easy for any immediate requirement. Overall, my friends and I had a great couple of days. Thanks Sarah!!

When we turned into the street at the top of the hill the view took our breath away, and when we got inside and stepped down into the cozy sunken lounge dining room and saw the view we would be soaking up for the next few days we were absolutely so glad we booked this place. Everything was there for us to enjoy our stay, the kitchen was amazing and we did a tonne of cooking. Walks from the house were so good and amenities were all very close by. The house is kept beautifully and the yard although steep is an enchanted mini rainforest. We definitely talked about revisiting. A beautiful part of the NSW coast.

Misty River Lodge - Spacious Riverside Retreat

This was our fourth stay at Misty River Lodge and won’t be our last. My family, including our little Jack Russell Terrier, loves Helen and Craig’s place. I especially love seeing how the gardens have evolved. We enjoy visiting the beaches up and down the coast — Scotts Head is a favourite — and we love to find new places to eat. Coffs Harbour is only a 45 minute drive north and South West Rocks is just 30 minutes south, so it’s a really central location and close to the highway but so quiet and peaceful. The bird song is relaxing and if you’re an early riser, you might even see the local swamp wallaby down near the creek. We were treated to fresh quail eggs, deliciously sweet tomatoes and tasty vegetables from the garden. As Helen said when we arrived… “Welcome home!” … because it does feel like a home away from home.

The place was clean, comfortable, and just as described. I traveled with my daughter and our dog, and we all felt right at home. Unfortunately, the heavy rain limited our outdoor activities, but it was still a nice and relaxing escape. The hosts were very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and well-kept spot to unwind!
