Medieval Stone Retreat with Lake Views

Welcome in this unique and amazing retreat. Its cozy private mini-garden surrounded by roses, century-old stone walls, antique terracotta tiles, rustic chestnut beams, and spectacular medieval room transports guests into the past! An open space with a comfortable double bed, small equipped kitchen, living room with table, sofa and TV. Access to the bathroom behind the kitchen. A second tavern/bedroom with a double sofa bed, separated from the open space by a thick curtain (not a door). Private garden for meals. Perfect for one couple or a family with children (not intimate for 2 couples !) If you are a wine lover and love old stones and history, this place is for you! Imagine having your own flat with its own medieval wine cellar directly accessible from inside the apartment. It is truly a magical place to enjoy a glass of wine. Like the rest of La Maisonette, this appartment has been completely renovated whilst maintaining all its original characteristics. The floor lighting illuminating the stone walls and its pavement made of antique terracotta of antique stone slabs create a unique atmosphere. For your well-being and comfort, we have chosen only natural materials during the renovation and you will be surrounded by century old stone walls, terracotta tiles and chestnut beams. This ground floor apartment is made up of a living room with a couch and rocking chair, satellite TV, wifi internet, furniture for your clothes and belongings and a dining table with four chairs. This living space also has a small kitchen with fridge, kettle, stove, oven and mini dishwasher! It offers views of the lake and garden of the villa thanks to two large luminous double glass windows. In the same room there is a comfortable double bed. If needed there is a sofa bed in the cellar where two people can sleep. The apartment has a bathroom equipped with a fully tiled walled shower, two sinks, toilet and bidet. Being on the ground floor you will also have a little private garden area overlooking the orchard of the villa with its stone fountain, table and chairs where you can relax. We have taken special attention to every detail to make your stay comfortable and special. (furniture, appliances, lighting, decoration…) The apartment has an independent access from the street as well as private and secure parking on the grounds of the villa La Maisonnette is a dependance of my villa where I live. It has an independent access from the street behind my villa if you come by walk, or a second access by my garden if you come by car (free private and secure parking). Laundry service available on request. I am at your disposal for any further information, questions, advice you may need to make your stay in Stresa and its surroundings truly enjoyable (excursions,places to visit,restaurants, transportations). La Maisonnette is located in a residential and dominant lake view position on the hills above Stresa and part of a hamlet called "Binda". The villa is 5 minutes by car from the A26 highway (Carpugnino exit) and 5 minutes from the Stresa train station which has direct trains to destinations such as Lausanne, Basel, Geneva, Milan city center. Swimming lake with particularly clear waters. The water temperature is particularly mild and it is possible to swim from late May until early October. It is also ideal as a base for those wishing to visit the many tourist resorts in the area: Orta San Giulio, Lake Maggiore with Stresa and the Borromean Islands, Lake Mergozzo, the Ossola Valley, the Strona Valley, Valsesia and many others. An independent 2nd floor apartment in a small Liberty-style villa, with a splendid lake and mountain view, fire place. Luminous, functional, very peaceful and relaxing. Sleeps 2 (max 4): Bedroom with a double bed. (+extra beds available for studio corner). Town center + shops at 2 km. Stresa and surroundings are beautiful all year round, also in winter. Fabulous places for mountain hiking, skiing, golf. Check-in possible during lunch hours (11.30am-1pm) or in the evening after 6pm.

Lake view studio w/ terrace

Relax in beautiful and scenic Italy. Our humble studio apartment offers expansive views of Lago Maggiore and mountains. The area is quiet and peaceful. Private lake access is a 10 minute walk. If you'd like to walk to Stresa, we recommend first driving 3 minutes and starting up the hill (23 min total / avoids steps). Please note: You will have to walk through our upstairs living room (8m distance total) while we wait for approvals to build external stairs.

The appartment has a really great terasse with e stunning view towards Stresa and the three islands. Further the kitchen is well equipped so it‘s easy to cook your own dinner & enjoy the view. Only point: In summer it gets really warm inside because there are no blindes on the windows. But for us it was okay, we just left the windows open during nights & enjoyed the view.

We had a lovely stay in Stresa. The apartment looks just like the photos and has been beautifully renovated. There are many restaurants and shop close by, and there is a large playground with sandy beach that our children enjoyed. Sometimes we had to wait for a parking spot to open up at the public lot across from the house, but not too long. The elevator access to the apartment was well appreciated. We would definitely recommend.

Beautiful private residence with lots of green spaces, the homes are not on top of each other. Tennis court and 2 swimming pools: a 25m large for swimming and a splash pool. A caretaker is present and very available. The accommodation is large enough for a couple and 2 children with a terrace on the ground floor. The environment is quiet. Thank you to Cesare for hosting us! We had a great holiday in this charming area on the heights of Lake Maggiore.

Overall this is a clean and nicely renovated apartment with a gorgeous view. Very clear video instructions on how to access the place. Johnny was responsive and helpful during our stay - which was pleasant and enjoyable. Local recommendations and more specific instructions re: parking would be helpful prior to arrival. As an added consideration, especially if you have children: the apartment is up high and the walk to and from town is steep and on narrow streets with traffic.
