Holiday rentals in Montalvão

Where do I start. Well first off, we arrived in the middle of the nationwide blackout. I could not text Paula that we were on the way nor did we have service to find the place. BUT we did!! And oh my, the place is gorgeous, right in the middle of the mountains. There was no electricity because of that national blackout but Paula was a star, sheltering us the best she could in a crisis! She’s such an incredible host. We drank wine and ate cheese, slept in the most comfortable bed and woke up to the miracle of electricity. STAY HERE. Even without electricity it’s the greatest Airbnb I’ve ever been to.

Second time staying in the little house which is conveniently situated in the centre of the village with bars,a couple of shops, atm and nice public garden. It has all that's needed for a stay, including a great shower and a comfortable bed. The bread delivery each day is very helpful. Paula is a friendly host with good communication. I would definately stay again and recommend it.

O espaço é excelente para uma escapadinha a dois, muito tranquilo e bem decorado. A D.Rosa esteve sempre disponível para atender aos nossos pedido, com.um pequeno almoço delicioso todas as manhãs, sempre com variedades de pão diferentes e deliciosas. Recomendo o passadiço do Alamal e da Barca da Amieira, muito próximos. De notar apenas que a casa não será adequada a quem tenha alguns problemas de mobilidade, e recomendaria um forno/microondas para aumentar as opções faceis na cozinha, não há muitos restaurantes na zona (mas há supermercado em Envendos e Mação).

A casa é um sonho! Tem tudo o que é preciso! o terreno à volta e as vistas são incriveis... Fora que tem tradição e pormenores muito atentos! Acodar com o som dos passaros e rebanhos de ovelhas é de outro mundo! O espaço cá fora também está muito bem cuidado e é agradável para se estar em família ou com amigos!

A casa correspondia com as expectativas. A anfitriã Ana, muito simpática e acessível. Zona muito calma com bichinhos nas redondezas super queridos. Adoramos a nossa estadia!

I can’t express how grateful I am for this unforgettable stay. Nestled deep in the woods, the place felt like a peaceful retreat straight out of a fairytale: quiet, surrounded by nature, with the soft sounds of birds and leaves in the breeze. Every little detail was thought through with care and love, making the space not only cozy and beautiful, but also deeply welcoming. And then there’s the host, absolutely extraordinary. From the first message, they went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Warm, thoughtful, and genuinely kind, Mariana made us feel more like guests in a friend’s home than travelers passing through. Their recommendations, attentiveness, and generosity added so much to the experience. If you’re looking for a special escape, this is it. A place to breathe, to slow down, and to feel truly taken care of. I’ll carry the peace I found here with me for a long time.

Just blown away by our stay at Casa dos Galegos. Daniel was so friendly and helpful and the little touches he brought such as the welcome basket and sweet treats and cherries from his land during the week really made it feel extra special. The space is beautifully designed and super comfortable, inside and out, the inside has high end hotel touches while the outside is the perfect place to relax all day in such beautiful surroundings. I’m a cat lover and absolutely loved being surrounded by such happy, friendly cats mostly sleeping sweetly in any shade they can find! The surrounding area is stunning and we loved exploring all the nearby villages and popping over the border to Spain for tapas! We started most days with a hike of which there are plenty of well marked trails and perfect sized routes of 5-7km as well as longer ones for the more adventurous (and less hot days!!) Oh and - if you stay here you must visit their Michelin starred restaurant in Marvão, Fago. Such creative, del

An oasis of calm and beauty. Nestled in the tamed but still wild-ish rural surroundings, Quinta Solar is a perfect setting to relax and chill. Jocelyn is a very attentive host, friendly, engaging and inclusive. Jocelyn and Alex are very interesting people who clearly value their guests. Relaxing by the plunge pool in the afternoon warmth was exceptional. The grounds and the facilities are mostly off grid but that doesn't mean anything is lacking. The annex is perfectly self contained, comfortable and shares many common areas with the hosts. I was made to feel very welcome.
