Cottage holiday rentals in Montalcino

Davide and Annalisa's cottage was absolutely gorgeous, exactly as the pictures showed. It was the perfect place for us to relax and enjoy our last week in Italy. Breakfast out on the patio with the birds chirping and surrounded by nature was a great way to start the day. Davide lit the heater for the hot tub for us and we were able to enjoy a wonderful evening relaxing. Davide and Annalisa were full of good recommendations for restaurants and local places to visit. The cottage is within driving distance of so much - Pisa, Florence, Siena and of course San Gimignano just to name a few. All the amenities we needed were included, the WIFI was great and the cottage was very comfortable. I would highly recommended staying here and if we are ever in the vicinity we would certainly stay here again.

Lovely, peaceful, spacious place with a kind and generous host in Simone. He met us as we arrived and used his wagon to help move our luggage into the cottage. Big rooms, lots of space, many handy supplies in the kitchen. Good shower, comfortable bed. Enough bench space in the bathroom to put your things. Simone was really helpful with local recommendations for restaurants and where to park the car. One day he made a delicious tart and bought us in half. Would recommend staying at his place.

We stayed at the wonderful Fontanaro villa in the village of Paciano, and it was truly a soul-refreshing experience. Lucia is an incredibly caring host, and Pam, who looked after our stay, was a real treasure. She not only provided excellent recommendations on places to visit but also took care of reservations, ensuring we had nothing to worry about. This was not just an ordinary stay; it was a unique experience. We had the opportunity to participate in an olive oil tasting and a cooking class—both activities left an indelible impression. The villa we stayed in was not only stunningly beautiful but also boasted an impressive wine cellar with an extraordinary collection. Overall, our stay at Fontanaro villa exceeded all expectations. It was more than just accommodation—it was an experience we will never forget.

What a great place to stay. Everything we needed during our stay was available, from a cot for our baby to an iron and a full kitchen etc. The location was great for Tuscany, with Siena, Montelpulciano and others an easy drive away. The pool was just what we needed in the afternoons to cool down and relax after spending our mornings out and about. We hosted a dinner with family in the large dining table overlooking the pool, a lovely end to our stay at a superb family spot.

Dreamy and beautiful place! You can't ask for better. A breathtaking view, nothing is missing inside, comfortable bed, etc. Not to mention Elena's warm welcome and the good wine 🍷 she left us as well as a large bottle of water.

This place is truly a 10/10. I’ve stayed at dozens of BNBs over this year and I have to say that this is one of my absolute favorites. Every detail, from the decor to the cleanliness to the nature to the spaciousness, is phenomenal. I cannot recommend this place highly enough! One thing to keep in mind is that it’s nestled quite far into the mountains so whenever we went on day trips like to Pienza or Pitigliano, it was always around an hour drive or more.

If you want to experience the Tuscany of your dreams, then this is the place to stay! The pictures are accurate but do not do justice to the beauty you will experience. Birds chirping and bees buzzing around the fragrant jasmine and roses bring peace and calm as you gaze out over the olive grove to the surrounding hillsides with views of Pienza, other towns and a retired monastery. Frank and Phil are incredibly gracious hosts and will not steer you wrong with recommendations, including wonderful restaurants, beautiful churches and abbeys, and wineries. The garden cottage is quite private and you will have no intrusions. Sitting on the patio with a glass of wine, some local cheese, and a good book was our favorite escape.

What a fabulous place - if you want to escape from it all, this is the place to come! Love the private pool too! Air conditioning in the bedroom was very good and appreciated. Olga and Max were very accommodating and answered questions very quickly. Maybe consider installing a BBQ outside the house otherwise could not fault it and we cannot wait to return!

Beautiful typical stone house in the quiet olive trees close to Tuscan nature. the village is 10 min walk. unforgettable stay!

The Lakehouse is even better than the pictures, it’s a perfect place to relax or as a base to explore the local area. The villa also has kayaks and paddle boards to explore the lake. The hosts David and Chrissie are the most accommodating organised people I have come across on air bnb. I highly recommend.

What an absolute oasis - we greatly enjoyed our stay here. While it was a bit far from some of our Tuscan destinations, we didn’t mind at all. It was well worth the trip and still close to some other towns that were lovely to visit. The weather wasn’t warm enough for us to enjoy the pool but would be a perfect getaway during a hot summer! The bed was so comfortable we missed it when we left, we slept better here than anywhere else in Italy during our trip.

The place is as described. It is definitely worth the price. Emi is very nice. We will stay again!!!!

My husband and I stayed two nights in the Chestnut Dryer of the Podere di Maggio. What can I say? A real paradise: nestled in a wonderful valley with Mount Amiata in front of it and the beautiful medieval village of Santa Fiora. We could not ask for more: wonderful structure, well cared for, in detail, priceless peace. The hosts were great, hospitable, and really made us feel at home. In short, everything is perfect, nothing is missing, of course you have to love bucolic life like us ! The only downside? Two nights were too short and we'll definitely be back . The view is stunning. The place is very private. Leonardo is very responsive. Definitely worth visiting La Pace, a lovely restaurant 5 mins walk away. 10/10 recommend

Beautiful place in the beautiful Tuscany country side! Romantic landscape and idyllic atmosphere for a great getaway from daily stress. Natasha is a super friendly host and provided lots of good tips for great things to do around. Very recommendable!

Our stay at Gabriele's place was great and we enjoyed the week we have with him. The house has a cinematic sweeping view of the Tuscan countryside and the pool just like that. The pool is perfect for cooling off on the hot summer days. The house is beautiful, rustic, clean and cool. Air conditioning also helps. We have been a family of 4, with children of 4 and 7 years. We have enjoyed it every day! Gabriele and his wife were very friendly, welcoming and always easy to reach if needed. They helped make our stay just perfect. Thanks to them! We can only recommend a stay with Gabriele and his “Le Capannacce”.

This was one of the most relaxing holidays we've had in a long time! Everything was fantastic, both the location of the property and the property itself. We would have loved to stay for several weeks!

This was the favorite part of our trip! We felt that Eva went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and welcomed! It was evident that she wanted us to love the place as much as she does. Her warmth and kindness made this house a home for us! It is beautifully decorated and the view is like a picture. The house was very clean and had everything we needed for cooking our own meals. We had a pleasant stay at Vito's. The house is very well arranged and offers many amenities. The place is idyllic surrounded by olive groves and high up allowing exceptional views of Tuscany. The pool is simply fantastic, spacious and extremely well maintained thanks to Vito's right-hand man who takes great care of the entire property. This is a property to remember that we highly recommend.

We had the privilege of staying a month in this beautiful stone house nestled in a forest with outstanding views of the Umbria hills and the medieval village of Rotecastello. Tranquility itself taking long walks in the woods with the birds chirping throughout the day. The house is centrally located to quaint local villages such as Orvieto, Assisi, Spoleto as well as many others. Florence is only a 2 hour drive. The town of Marciano is a few kilometres away with all the amenities needed to make delicious meals at home and if you like fish, on Tuesdays and Thursdays the truck in the centre of town is excellent as is the homestead pasta shop. Gabriele and Valeria, a sophisticated couple who show their dedication to their guest from the interior cleanliness and decor to the gorgeous flowers surrounding the house. Very welcoming couple always with a smile, yet still honouring your privacy. Arturo, their dog is an absolute joy. This is a 100% recommendation all around!

A very nice and complete house with great views. Every day delicious breakfast in the sunshine in the garden. Furthermore, a beautiful area for hiking and a great base for visiting beautiful places. In short, recommended!!

The cottage was spotlessly clean and exactly as described and perfect for a peaceful hideaway in the beautiful Tuscan hills. You can hit all the major sites fairly easily or just relax on the south-West facing private terrace watching the sunsets. The view seems almost untouched by humans except for a few olive groves, vines and the odd farmhouse and is buzzing with nature and birdsong. The cottage has everything you'll need and is very comfortable and even has a rack of very acceptable and reasonable wine on tap! An ample welcome pack is provided which will definitely see you through the first night and probably more. The terrace and house are very private and have lots of outdoor furniture provided for relaxing and eating al-fresco. The hosts, Bob & Ally, have been doing this for a while and are fairly much perfect, they are there if you require anything and can provide lots of local information but will leave you in private if that is what you prefer. Very highly Recommended.
