At a 3-minute walk from the beach and the art college, this is a beautifully designed house and easy-going place to stay. The house has a hexagonal, high-ceiling living room and original mosaic floors that will definitely put you in a 'good mood'...! The compound is shared with us as your host family (and some dogs and cats), but you have your own house and backyard. A small kitchen with fridge and stove allows you to cook your own meal, to be eaten on your private terrace if you so wish!

The place is only 7 minutes walk to Mbweni Beach. It's airy with a lovely sunset breeze. The rooms are cozy with a homey atmosphere. The premises are kept safe with electrical fence and a night guard. Neighborhood is safe and quiet. Roads are paved for those interested to jog or walk in the evenings. If you don't wish to take a stroll, there's a small gym where you can exercise and do yoga. The owners are lovely and flexible people that you will enjoy every minute of your experience!

We enjoyed our stay at Lilian’s place. The apartment is nice and comfortable. We felt right at home and decided to extend our stay. Getting around was easy by Uber and we love the community atmosphere. At the bottom of our apartment is a supermarket and across the street is a nice bar and lounge. We often hang there making friends with the locals. Walking the neighborhood also felt like home as we greet and interacted with the neighbors. Our housekeeper washed and cooked some delicious meals for us that we truly enjoyed. She’s such a lovely person. Lilian was always responsive and flexible to our needs. I would return here and recommend this place to anyone.

Miriam is a lovely host offering amazing coffee in a fully equipped kitchen. The house is very spacious, perfect for families and so quiet. It is the perfect place for hot Dar es Salaam weather. The compound has a big private garden. It's opposite a big forest, which offers a cool breeze. I love it and will definitely come back!

Ally is a kind and pleasant host. He does not live on-site, but is easy to reach by WhatsApp or Airbnb. The apartment is what we call a duplex in the US. A one floor, two family house, with separate entrances. All the necessary items were available, with AC and ceiling fan in master bedroom. The location is close some small shops where you can buy snacks, fruit and vegetables, soft drinks, drinking water, beer, and some liquor. There is a small outdoor cafe, a barber, and an outdoor pub just a 3-4 min walk. All the neighbors are kind and friendly, and all spoke English when I was there. There are two hospitals close by, one large new one 5-10 min walk, with Ambulance. Boda Boda are easy to get. Bajaji are not as easy, even though there are many going past on a main community road. Because, they always seem full, until you get in to village. There is a large outdoor bar and grill (Hilton) a 10 minute walk. The closest supermarket (small) is 1.7km, with the closest milk and ice cream I could find. There is a swimming pool within 2km, located with another bar and grill. Not many ATMs in the area. The easiest way to find it is by putting Dalarna Lounge (closed) into Google Maps and it will take you straight there.

Secelela and her staff are warm, welcoming with the upmost professionalism.. the place is sooo accommodating and homely with all the amenities listed totally accurate.
