The place was exact as described. It was quite spacious and we felt right at home. Considering we had a small baby, we didn’t have any issue during the stay. The check-in and checkout process was straightforward. The neighbourhood was quiet and had good commute options. Highly recommend this place.

Staying at the Gion house was an absolute treat. It was the best airbnbs we have stayed in. Curtis and staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They gave excellent recommendations and were very responsive to any questions we had. The atmosphere was beautiful and we appreciated the attention to detail of the historic home. We would highly recommend staying here and we would definitely return!

We enjoyed our stay in the impeccably maintained apartment on two levels. Location is pretty good about 10 minutes away from the train station, south. Lots of good buses nearby. Bus system in Kyoto works great and is easy to use. No western style chairs or sofa, so be prepared to sink to the ground after a day of exploring Kyoto.

The apartment is in a quiet neighborhood, yet it is close to some very interesting places to visit. Kaz is very responsive and friendly. The apartment is a little small but given the location and price, I think it is good value for money. The apartment comes with all the amenities a traveller would need. Overall, a great place to stay a little away from the busy downtown.

Great location and perfectly sized for 2!

When ever in kyoto , we recommend this place, because this location is very close to JR railway station. Straight road to railway station. So easy to find. From kyoto station only one stop to this location. We used our JR PASS for near about all main attractions in Kyoto. Kitchen is very nice and full equipped. Rooms are nicely decorated and very beautiful. The host is very nice person. Great deal for staying in Kyoto. Thanks lot.

Nice place, very clean and good location

My family of four stayed together.The room was also clean and comfortable.There was a supermarket in front of me, and there were many other restaurants, so I had no trouble eating.It is in front of the station, but it is also a little down the alley, so it was nice and not noisy.I would definitely use it again!

The place very convenient for tourists. Everything is there . Accessible to tourist spots ( walking ,train stations, buses). Will surely get back to this place .

Really good place to stay. Only 2 minutes walk from Gojo station and 1 stop to Kyoto which leads everywhere for your adventures. Close by to some temples, river and good restaurants and bars. Host is super nice and very helpful.

I stayed at Obataya for three weeks, and it was an absolutely exceptional experience. The home was immaculately clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the location was perfect—peaceful and quiet, yet conveniently connected to Kyoto’s historic sites by public transport. What truly made my stay unforgettable was Yoko-san, the host. She is warm, thoughtful, and incredibly kind—a true superhost who goes above and beyond for her guests. Thank you, Yoko-san, for your hospitality. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Obataya to anyone visiting Kyoto.

This place is small but has everything you need. Great location near the station and a huge mall so supermarket and lots of restaurants nearby. Clean and full stocked. Highly recommended

Place is a gem, quiet and cool at night. Washing machine on the balcony, easy walk to the Nishiki market and metro stations to Osaka. Henry and Phoebe are gracious hosts, and their English skills are impressive. Very informative and helpful. We had a great 5 days in their place.

We enjoyed our stay, a quiet and convenient little room - traditional Japanese style. The host was friendly and very communicative, we had no troubles whatsoever.

The location of this stay was perfect, within walking distance of many of Kyotos must-see places and great restaurants. The apartment was small (like most Japanese apartments), but incredible value for the price. Taiyo was helpful and responsive.

was an amazing and unique home, great area and good views of the temple next door. Host was very responsive and accommodating. not many garbage bags stocked, so be sure to save yours from shopping. The single complaint I had was that it was a bit dusty around the vents and high places. Overall I would highly recommend this Airbnb!

This is a great place to stay while visiting Kyoto. It’s very close to a popular bus stop and not too far from Kyoto Station. Seizai’s instruction booklet was very clear and gave lots of great information about both the bnb and the neighborhood. The only issue is that the bunk bed ladder does not attach to the bed well, so be careful when climbing up and down. Otherwise everything is great and clean and it’s a nice space. Highly recommend!

K/H did an amazing job as a host and making me feel welcome during my stay in Kyoto. Their clear directions made the stay seamless. Noise around the bnb was not as bad as expected ( rail line by the apartment), and it didn’t impact my sleep at all! Thanks again!

Absolutely loved our stay here! The place was spotless, with both indoor and outdoor bathtubs that made for a truly relaxing experience. It’s incredibly cozy and well-designed, with a perfect location—just a short walk to the subway and the river. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Kyoto!

We stayed at four airBnb‘s in Japan and all have their good points, but this was by far the best. Located in a quiet suburb so not walking distance to the main sites of Kyoto, but with some lovely sites that we would not have seen otherwise Close by. It was as simple Uber ride or train ride to get into Kyoto for main sightseeing and it was lovely to come home to a quiet un bustling local with a wide choice of excellent restaurants to choose among. The apartment itself is spacious, by far the most spacious we stayed in And it’s part of a an apartment complex which has a small gym. Nori and Fumi even served us breakfast all three days we were there in another upstairs breakfast room. To top it off, they picked this up and dropped us off at this train station three days later. All in all it was a really welcoming and comfortable place to stay, well worth the price we paid

The location is excellent, it is very easy to get to the points of interest in Kyoto easily.
