Pewsey is situated between Stonehenge and Avebury and we are only 7 minutes walk from the railway station amid a wealth of outstanding countryside. Shops and restaurants all within walking distance in fact a car is not at all essential to your stay. Our little artists hideaway is a unique space full of quirky artworks in a garden of sculptures. It is very comfortable, warm and private and has easy access to all the amenities of the village.
“My wife and I are moving to a new flat and needed a place to stay for a couple of weeks. We randomly picked Pewsey because of the train links to London. Fortunately, we landed on Lucy's place: it's one of the best AirBnBs that we stayed at. Not only the space is great and decorated with an amazing sense of aesthetic (we spent quite some time admiring the big painting in the living room and the garden perfectly framed by the windows), but it was very comfortable and clean. Pewsey is a great little town, with a great Indian takeaway, a large Co-op and lots of walking routes, all walking distance from Lucy's place. Lucy is super nice, and she and her family were extremely respectful of our privacy while we stayed. We had some nice little chats about the city and life in general, but mostly felt completely at home with no one around and the only noise being the trees around her property (exactly what we needed after the last couple of years living in London). The bed was comfortable, good Wi-Fi and shower; she left some bread, butter and eggs for us, and the combination oven+microwave was our companion for all those days. If you don't feel like walking all the way down to some fields, there's a little garden in front of the studio where you can catch some sun at. If you're ever in Pewsey or planning to drive around the region, we definitely recommend staying at Lucy's place!”
The property is totally private and provides stylish self contained studio accommodation away from the main house. It comprises a well equipped kitchen area, a luxurious en-suite shower room and a south facing private patio garden which offers lovely views of the surrounding countryside. Situated just two miles from the beautiful market town of Marlborough and near the ancient sites of Avebury and Silbury Hill, it offers the ideal country retreat to relax and unwind.
“Little Langside is a wonderfully appointed studio in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside. Its perfectly located to serve as a base to explore the prehistoric landscape that takes in the renowned World Heritage Site of Avebury, Silbury Hill and West Kennet Longbarrow. The apartment is a self-contained annex and faces out onto the garden at the rear of the hosts house and the fields beyond. It is a cozy, quiet, private and exceedingly comfortable. Sheila is a fabulous host, extremely friendly and thoughtful. Her local tips and recommendations are right on the mark. We spent a lovely couple of relaxed evenings as Sheila's guests and would not hesitate to book again. Two thumbs up!”
A beautifully renovated, wonderfully positioned converted chapel with large private garden in one of the area's prettiest villages. Wootton Rivers is within the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural beauty, with beautiful walks along the Kennet & Avon Canal, the Ridgeway and Savernake Forest. The village has a 16th century thatched pub, very close to the Chapel. We are also on the National Cycle Network route 4 and near to great restaurants such as Stein's, and Dan's in Marlborough.
“Perfect just as the pictures and description described, lovely that the heating was on when we arrived on a cold rainy February day. The welcome basket was a lovely surprise and kitchen had everything we needed. The village was gorgeous with lots of thatched cottages, a bit like a chocolate box. Walking along the canal was an added bonus (even if a bit muddy at this time Feb-20). Would definitely stay here again if looking in this area.”
