Guest House Agae is a renovated traditional house that can only accommodate one group at a time. It is in a very convenient location, about 550 m (about 7 minutes on foot) to Kumano Kodo and Kinkou Oji, a supermarket (A-COOP), a bus stop (Kodo Aruki no Sato Chikatsuyu), and restaurants (Shoji Teahouse and Tororo-ya). The owner is a local Kumano Kodo guide, so we will do our best to accommodate your questions and advice about walking the Kumano Kodo, as well as pick-up and drop-off when you need it. We can also provide personal guides, so please let us know. Prices do not include meals. Imai-cho, where the old streets from the Edo period still exist, is also a highlight. Kashinoki-an is a pure Japanese-style house built over 60 years ago, and you can also enjoy the garden. The kitchen and bathroom have been renovated for a pleasant stay. Reservation start from 2 person / 2 nights minimum. We only take one reservation everyday so house is yours to use privately.We have no meal service since corona pandemic 2020. Guesthouse is a typical old Japanese house, not like a resort Hotel or Ryokan for business. Mikiura village is surrounded by the clear blue sea and natural green mountains, and located close to the World Heritage of "Kumano Kodo" You'll enjoy real Japan such as rural life experience, quiet time and beautiful nature.

To reach it, climb about 50 steps (5 min) for a rewarding view. *Note: not suitable for those with limited mobility. There is no TV or clock—disconnect and relax. *Extra fee applies for 2+ guests. For safety, a motion-sensor camera is at the entrance; it only takes still photos when someone passes, never continuous video, ensuring privacy.

"Genki House", a house near Kumano Hongu-Taisha

It’s a house 8km from the Hongu Taisha. (about 15 minutes' drive) If you have a car it's more convenient, but if not I'll be happy to drive you to and from a bus stop or a tourism spot in Hongu area. My family run an organic farm, bakery, NPO offering long-stay for the youth, and an alternative school for children nearby. You'll have some loaves of bread from our bakery(^^)/ （If you don't eat bread please let me know beforehand)
