Stordalen is the gateway to Stølsheimen and has many great hiking opportunities. Peak trips up to 1000 meters nearby. All year round road from E39 Matre Stordalen ski center and prepared ski trails. Mellom skogen og fjorden finner du hytten "Stokkely" i Stokkevika rett før Modalen. Her kan man fiske, bade, grille eller rett og slett bare slappe av. Tomten er på 6 mål med parkering rett ovenfor. Merk at det inntil den nye veien ned til hytten er klar er masse trapper gjennom skogen. Det er totalt 80 trappetrinn. Vannet i hytten kommer fra en nærliggende elv og bør kokes.
