Family-friendly holiday rentals in Manitoba

Chris was an incredibly gracious host. We connected after our family had a really rough time with another host. He went out of his way to ensure our family of 6 felt comfortable and welcome. I deal with a consistent amount of intensity in my career, and Chris' place gave us the escape and serenity that our family needed. He was always responsive and available when we had questions, yet very professional and kind. I would highly recommend this vacation home due to equal parts the accommodations themselves, but also the level of service that Chris adds to it all. I would absolutely stay again! Thank you Chris for having us in your lovely home!

We just spent 2 wonderful weeks at the Storm Bay cottage. Mark and Faye are great hosts. Mark gave us easy driving instructions, met us on arrival and took the time to show us around. He was also easy to reach when we had a question. Everything about the place was great - the location (close to Kenora for supplies but also private), the house, the boathouse (it's spectacular!), the view, the fishing and especially the sunsets. It's so peaceful and quiet and the fishing was great. We came with a couple of boats but we even caught fish from the dock. When on shore we lacked for absolutely nothing. The kitchen was the best equipped we've ever seen. We didn't use the hot tub or the sauna but I enjoyed having the piano. We were a small group of 4 but there is plenty of room for a very large group on shore and on 2 nearby islands, King and Sunset. We've been coming to LOTW for 40 years and THIS WAS OUR BEST STAY. We can't wait to come back to our favorite place on our favorite lake.

We felt like we were having a family experience as the cabin reflected family gatherings. Lots of places for smaller groups to gather whether inside or in the veranda. The hot tub was great.

I stayed for a stretch after having surgery and the house offered everything I needed. I, as well as my mother, were very at ease while staying here. The neighbourhood feels very safe and the yard is nice and private. The house is exactly as advertised, nice and cozy, but has everything you need for your stay. They were prompt to answer any time I messaged them and never left me hanging. I will definitely be booking back with them.

I had an amazing stay at the Cottage for my 40th birthday. The cottage is a perfect retreat, nestled in nature, offering peace and tranquility. It was incredibly well-equipped with everything I needed, from a cozy indoor fireplace to an outdoor shower that added a touch of adventure. The surrounding area is beautiful, and I enjoyed taking in the stunning sun and moon -rises and walks along the beach. The hosts were thoughtful and provided detailed instructions, making the stay seamless. The cottage was clean, comfortable, and the little details, like a hammock by the lake, really made my experience special. I felt completely relaxed and at home during my stay. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway, and I hope to return again soon!

Nice spot right on the water, would be great any season but we had a blast staying there during our snowmobile trip. Could skidoo right onto the river to meet up with the main trails. House is very spacious with lots of games and DVDs but you won’t want to be inside too much with such a lovely property. Hosts were helpful and easy to deal with. Highly recommend!

Tony’s place was better than expected. The charming home is on a lovely quiet and safe street. The instructions throughout the home were helpful and also hilarious. Tony was easy to reach and helpful with providing advice for the area. Thanks for a great weekend! We would stay here again for sure.

We had a fabulous Easter long weekend at Tummel House. Her place is very close to the Duck Mountains and to Lake of the Prairies. Her house is the perfect home base for a great country side getaway with access to nature right next door. We also loved that we could watch movies on a VHS and explain the technology to our 8 year old daughter. We felt right at home and were refreshed by our visit. And, we were happy that the Easter Bunny was able to find us.

It is a very nice cabin with a beautiful view of the lake. Mike is a super host, making sure we have everything we need. We have stayed here for a week the last 3 years, and we will be back next year.

Wonderful location, great house, overall I'm really satisfied of this weekend trip.

We had a long term stay at Jordan's place. He was extremely communicative and addressed any concerns we had. The home contains many belongings of the homeowners so there was a lot of stuff in the house but enough room was made for us to comfortably keep our belongings. There is no bathroom on the main floor and a lot of stairs but we knew this going in from previous reviews. The front porch was a nice extension to the house and you can't beat the neighbourhood. Jordan even went above and beyond to return items we had forgotten at the house.

wonderful stay, would recommend if someone is looking for a small, cozy cabin in Gimli. comfortable place, wonderful host, and left a gift for my fiance and myself!!! would definitely recommend to a friend or return ♡

A great place for our family to stay, loved walking to several of the local restaurants, would totally recommend Stella’s for a meal and La Belle Boulangerie for amazing croissants. We visited BOTH places several times, live music at Stella’s and eating outside in the enclosed courtyard was a highlight. We loved hanging out in the evening listening to D’s records and playing games. Great vibe, great location!

The cabin has a modern and rustic feel in a secluded setting. It has all the amenities as listed and more. Very comfortable and roomy space, indoors and in the porch. Perfect for a family retreat. Jac is very helpful and responsive. We loved the limestone cliffs and caves along the shoreline, which are a must see.

Our family with a baby and 5 year old had a great time :) we love gimli, and staying somewhere so close to all the action was great for us. We were able to walk everywhere, see the lake, this would be the perfect place in the summer being so close to the water. The absolute one and ONLY thing I would suggest is maybe adding in a foldable crib/ playpen for babies, because this place is the perfect place for families with kids. We had to bring our baby’s bassinet with us which wasn’t 100% ideal. Other than that Nancy and her husband were so nice, the house is so cozy and clean and they literally had everything you’d need! Even condiments in the fridge and spices for food! I loved the cozy throw blankets as well, so perfect for a movie night in :) would definitely stay here again and for long periods of time. Great for a couple ‘s weekend escape. Highly recommended!

Nice stay.We stayed the end of August/beginning of september. Don't forget to pack jackets because it may get a little chilly while fishing early/late hrs of the day. Caught pike, bass and small crayfish( that we released) from the dock using worms, minnows, weiners as bait. My family members were able to swim and kayak/conoe during the day. ( the water is 10 + feet deep) There was occassional boat traffic in the middle part of the lake which sent waves our direction that made me a little nervous) The house felt comfortable and was adequetly furnished and had good storage. Areas to improve: - I forgot to mention this to Joy because we brought out own, but in the shower there was no shampoo but only liquid hand soap. - One of the picture windows and the window in the dining room didn't have curtains so I covered them with sheets - Dishwasher didn't drain fully so we hand washed the dishes after the first load. Overall it was a good stay. Owner was very responsive and helpful

We enjoyed our stay in this cozy and warm suite with my daughter during her tennis tournament. Ruth is a very nice, friendly, and flexible person who can help you with any question related to your stay in the house. I really appreciate her hospitality, and I am sure we will return to this place next time we visit Winnipeg. Thank you Ruth for your support and for encouraging my daughter in her matches!
