Gainford village is an ideal location to start a hike or bike ride from and the river Tees is a 2min walk. Bus stops are 20m from the front door to get you to town.

The outside area of the cottage includes a raised platform & fire pit for your own use. Whilst it appears to be set in a remote rural location, it is in fact incredibly well-situated to be able to visit local attractions whilst being easily accessible from the main road: A1M . “A hidden gem definitely worth staying here!”

Immaculate property - even bigger and more stunning than the photos represent. So luxurious. Everything that you could need and more. The comfiest beds that I have slept in when staying in rented accommodation. Great location, quiet and safe neighbourhood. Darren is extremely responsive and understanding. I would easily pay double what we did to stay here - couldn’t have asked for more.

The house was perfect for us to use as a base for visiting family nearby. It was spacious, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed! Big comfy bed, great shower, fluffy towels, very well stocked kitchen. The garden was beautiful and we enjoyed sunny breakfasts on the decking. We’ll definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at Clearwater cottage. It’s a beautiful place to sit and watch the river from the window, so peaceful. The property is well furnished and has everything we needed and more. The host was there at all times to recommend local restaurants and anything else we needed. We look forward to visiting again
