Holiday rentals with a pool in Makry Gialos

We enjoyed a fantastic four days in Aris’ place, the views of the plateau and mountains are just beautiful! We felt right at home, and it was lovely to have Aris and his wife physically there at check in, a rarity these days! The images really don’t do this place justice, it is up some winding roads but we were prepared for that having visited the plateau in 2012. We can’t recommend staying here more, we really wish we’d have booked a longer stay! Aris had a fantastic hire car recommendation too, which was also great, and we had some amazing recommendations from them too. Thank you very much Aris!

We had such a great time at Haven Villa! The location was super quiet and relaxing — just what we were looking for. The house itself was amazing: very stylish, very clean, and had everything we needed. The kitchen was really well stocked, and even though the rooms were a bit small, it didn’t bother us at all since we spent most of the time outside anyway. The outdoor space was a dream — pool, BBQ area, comfy loungers, a nice terrace and balcony upstairs… just perfect. The beach nearby was also super clean and really nice to hang out at. Marilou, thanks so much for having us! The only tiny downside was that the Wi-Fi was a bit slow and sometimes unstable, but everything else totally made up for it. Would definitely recommend!

We (a family with two kids, aged 5 and 2) really enjoyed our stay with Mpampis. The apartment is modern and has everything you need. The private pool and the courtyard were absolute highlights, especially for our kids. The beach is just 50 meters away. It’s a sandy beach in a quiet bay, which makes it perfect for families with children. Mpampis is a great host — he always responded quickly and gave us helpful tips for restaurants and beaches. We’ll definitely be coming back!

I was in a challenging situation when my initial booking was cancelled less than 24 hours before check-in. Due to a lung disability, staying in a hotel where smoking is allowed wasn't an option. In urgent need of accommodation, I requested this beautiful house at the last minute. Christine responded within minutes and went above and beyond to meet my needs. The house exceeded all expectations. Christine has created a tranquil haven with exceptional interior design, easy-to-clean tiled floors, and beautifully fitted furniture. Modern amenities, including a washing machine, dishwasher, and state-of-the-art hob, made my stay comfortable. The kitchen has high-quality cookware and spices, showing Christine's thoughtful consideration of her guests' needs. The saltwater pool and provided yoga mats made exercising in the sea breeze a delight. As a solo female traveller, I felt completely safe. Christine’s hospitality and the serene environment made this an ideal retreat- highly recommend it!

A charming 18th century house in a quiet area with a lovely view of the village and the city of Sitia. The host of these places is very friendly and has thoughtful touches during check-in and during the stay. It's a good idea to dine in the village taverns rather than Sitia as it's much more picturesque. Beautiful hikes, beautiful beaches and beautiful archaeological sites nearby. Ultra clean and warm house. We will definitely stay there again.

We loved this home. The huge terrace and view are so amazing. We spent lots of time on the nice patio furniture outside enjoying it. We also loved the pool. You can walk to a few spots in the area for dinner and we really enjoyed the patio bar at the hotel next door. Fun spot. Across the street was Pegasus Dive and boat rental. It was so nice to walk there and rent a small boat to see the town from the water. The town is really nice and the perfect size place to explore. We spent a week here and another week in Chania area. Thanks for sharing your home. I would highly recommend it

one of the best accommodations I have stayed in. a dream view, a fully equipped and comfortable villa. when you arrive there is beer, food and lots of nice touches. the host is exceptional and attentive, he towed my car stuck in a very difficult way when we were 1 hour away from the accommodation and we were really in a big mess… I don't know how I could have done without him. all Greek hospitality and wonderful memories in one place. if we can we will come back without hesitation. thanks again for everything !

The room was nice and big, view from the balcony was really beautiful, pool was great and the location was the best. You can find everything you need in Istro - shops, tavernas, beautiful beaches. We loved it and we can certainly recommend!

Very nice and beautiful accommodation with fantastic roof terrace. Good with intermediate cleaning and good with own pool in the area that especially the children liked. We had bad luck with strong winds a couple of days that meant we could not be on the beach, but then the pool was completely ok for us adults too. From our accommodation to the beach it was about 150 meters, which meant that we could go down and swim in the sea and then go back and sunbathe by the pool. Many smaller grocery stores, bakery and butcher right next door. There were many restaurants to choose from, especially west towards the harbor, about 700 meters.
