Family-friendly holiday rentals in Lucerne

Wow, we booked this Airbnb quite spontaneously because we needed a weekend retreat away and this delivered! Admittedly, you do need to be prepared that it’s not the easiest place to get to - but we packed light and had plenty of hands to get the groceries brought over. In the end;however, with a bit of planning, it was no issue at all getting there with our toddler and baby. And the location absolutely delivered! It was just what we needed to be in an undisturbed, peaceful setting to unwind from the busyness of everyday life. And the views are amazing!! As disclosed, a few elements of this house aren’t renovated (bathrooms), so if this is ever done then it will help elevate the house as well. I wasn’t aware that it was a two story house - which for us was perfect as we stayed below and my parents stayed above and gave us each some separate living space. I’d absolutely recommend Carmen’s place if you are looking for a true Swiss retreat that’s off the beaten path!

We would give Thomas 10 stars if we could. Absolutely the best AirBnB experience. Such a kind and accommodating host that made us feel very welcome in Switzerland. The chalet was unique, sparkling clean, and the views simply cannot be beat. Would absolutely stay again!

Perfect for a large group of 15 people + 6 children! An escape from the daily life of the city, especially when it's a hot weekend on the plateau. It's not the North Pole, but in terms of isolation from civilization, you could almost believe it. The view is magnificent, the amenities (fireplace for raclette, grill/fire pit - both working with wood fire available on site - Nordic style hot tub - which we did not need to heat given the heat of the moment - and without forgetting the large canvas that can be deployed by pressing a button offering shade on almost the entire terrace). The kitchen downstairs has all the amenities and enough space if the group is well organized and tidy (which was not our case!) You have to live with two cows, the farmers next door who work there during the day (but don't sleep there) and the fact that the parking lot is a 3-minute walk away, at the edge of the forest. Would we go back? Yes.

This place was perfect for our family. There are two separate entrances so one room is private from the other two. The views are AMAZING. It does require some coordination if you want to go into town as the train only runs about every hour, but we found the surroundings well worth the effort. The hot tub was so nice in the evenings, just plan to start the fire early as it takes a bit to heat up. Also HIGHLY recommend getting farm fresh eggs/milk/butter. It was super reasonable and so convenient to have it dropped at the house. Host were also very communicative which I appreciated. Overall, I would highly recommend this place if you want peace and gorgeous surroundings.

Beautiful little apartment with a wonderful view! Ideal accommodation for guests with dogs. Thanks to a sliding door, you can separate the bedroom well, the winter garden is also very pleasant in summer and the kitchen is well equipped. Heinz is very friendly, but also offers privacy. We did not use the sauna, the fitness room and the laundry room in another building. Due to the current construction site and the location, we recommend doing the shopping before arrival if you want to cook yourself. All in all, we enjoyed it very much and would book again at any time. Thank you!

Looking for a quiet place to stay with that certain something, we finally spent New Year's Eve at Lamahof. Not only our dog Hope could enjoy the few days, far away from fireworks and firecrackers. My husband and I were also able to relax between wood-burning stoves, country house charm and many cheeky llamas and other farm animals. Thanks Karin and Family for the wonderful experience.

We had the pleasure of staying at Theres' lovely home for three days, and what a peaceful little getaway it was! We had to make a few changes to our booking, and she was super kind and flexible about it—something we really appreciated. She even picked us up from the station, which was such a thoughtful gesture! Theres is truly a kind soul, and her home reflects that warmth. The place is serene, surrounded by beautiful views that instantly put you at ease. The rooms were spotless, the furniture cozy, and the kitchen had more utensils than we knew what to do with! We felt right at home and are already looking forward to coming back again.

The location of the accommodation is in a place that fits the appearance of the accommodation expected in Switzerland, with a view of the lake. The milk, juice, and bread prepared by the host were excellent. It's a place I want to come back to again.

We had a wonderful week at the Rigi. The chalet is in a great location, quiet and with a great view, yet you are quickly in the village shop or at the train station. Sandra is friendly and easily accessible, as well as extremely helpful even with special requests! We will be happy to come back.

The best accommodation so far on our trip through Europe, absolutely magical! We stayed on the ground floor of the house, and although it was over thirty degrees hot when we were there, it was very cool and comfortable inside the house. Good kitchen, clean and nice, fresh bathroom with nice shower and very nice beds. Wirzweli was a small gem of a village in the Swiss Alps, and the winding roads up the mountain were easy to drive even though the driver was doubtful before, there were plenty of meeting places.😊 Wirzweli is perfect for families with children, there is a great playground with a toboggan run and pony rides. The fact that there were also at least three restaurants in the village was a pleasant surprise! I would gladly recommend Sam's accommodation to others and I hope I will be able to come back sometime! There seemed to be nice hiking trails, so if we travel without children sometime, I would like to go there to hike. Thanks for a great stay!

Quiet location in beautiful surroundings. Quick connection to Bern, Zurich and the Bernese Alps. Kitchen wonderfully equipped, host very friendly and accommodating.

We had a very nice time with Rita. My 6-year-old daughter was very warmly received by Rita and taken directly to the farm. There, she is allowed to drive a small tractor. There was also a small wooden farm and other small toys in the apartment. So, for a vacation with children, it's just really nice. I can therefore highly recommend it.

We loved Casa Husenfels and thought Carmen was a very helpful and responsive host! The views are unbeatable and it was special to see fireworks across the lake for New Years Eve. I’d also recommend the walk up the hill, which we didn’t discover until our last day - serene and beautiful views.

First of all, the place was flawless. Beautiful surroundings and fully equipped apartment. You can seen the lake at the terrace. The apartment was very clean and cozy. Want to visit again!

We recommend the place. The apartment is located in a quiet area. It is the same as the Airbnb description. The condo is well equipped. Kitchen is amply equipped with dishes. The apartment consists of a large room that can be separated into two "rooms" with a curtain. There is also a bath. Klara and Paul are very nice, gave us tips for things to do and even provided the children with a pool noodle / swimming board. The garden incl. swimming pond is beautiful, so we used it several times.

We (3 adults and two small children) had a wonderful time at Sven and Fabienne's. The two are very warm and uncomplicated - we felt welcome from the first moment. The absolute highlight was the fantastic pool and garden area, which we were allowed to use - perfect for relaxing and playing. The apartment itself is also very tastefully and comfortably furnished. The kitchen is superbly equipped and offers everything you need. Particularly pleasant: There is plenty of storage space in cupboards and chests of drawers, which is very practical, especially for a longer stay. As a welcome, we were even greeted with a bottle of red and white wine and a snack - a generous and loving gesture. Thank you for everything, dear Fabienne and dear Sven – we will be happy to come back!
