The Stables Parwich - Time for two

MartinRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Fabulously homely, supremely cosy, well appointed cottage located in the peaceful Derbyshire village of Parwich. Ideal location for walkers, hikers and like me, cyclists. Spotlessly clean and providing everything you need for your restful stay this is a wonderful base from which to explore the countryside of the Peak District. Alexandra is a wonderful, five star host who communicated quickly and effectively before and during the stay and went out of her way to be extra helpful (picking up some basic shopping I asked for given the shopping options within walking distance of the cottage are very limited). She also provided some additional welcome goodies and was extremely helpful during my stay. With the Sycamore Inn nearby (5 mins walk), which doubles as a small village store, you won't go hungry but book in advance as they are normally fully booked especially at weekends. I'm already plotting a return visit later this year. Highly highly recommended.

Farm View Cosy 17th Century Cottage for 2 Parwich

We had a lovely stay! This was our second time at the cottage—we visited two years ago and loved it just as much this time around. The village is idyllic, the location is perfect, and our dog absolutely loved all the walks (we did too!). Highly recommend for a peaceful countryside escape.

Stunning & romantic C17th village Barn, Derbyshire

NadineRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a wonderful weekend staying at the Barn. Tracey was so helpful and informative, even being flexible with our check in as we were coming by train. The walks were calm, quiet, and gentle as we are not big hikers, but could definitelyhave been made more challenging had we wanted. Everything we needed was in the Barn, including maps and local brochures. We highly recommend staying at the Barn in Hognaston, and going for a meal at the Red Lion

Rocking Stone Cottage - Idyllic Rural Retreat

EdwardRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We had a wonderful stay at Rocking Stone Cottage near Bakewell. The location was ideal and just a short drive to places like Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, and right on the doorstep of the Peak District countryside. The cottage itself was beautifully kept, warm and welcoming, with spacious rooms and generous en-suites. It felt like a real home away from home. Rachael and Gerry were fantastic hosts. Rachael sent through lots of helpful information ahead of our visit, and every one of her recommendations hit the mark. One of the best things about Rocking Stone Cottage was how quickly we could get out into nature. Within minutes of leaving the front door, we were walking through open fields with sheep and cows, and could stroll from one village to the next across the peaks. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend both the cottage and the hosts - truly a special spot.

Picturesque Rose Cottage in Winster

We’d absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing countryside getaway. The cottage was cozy, clean, and full of character—exactly what you’d hope for in the heart of the Peak District. The host was fantastic: warm, responsive, and made sure everything was just right for our arrival. The cottage had everything we needed and more, with thoughtful touches that made us feel instantly at home. The location was perfect—peaceful and picturesque, with beautiful walks right on the doorstep and charming local pubs nearby. It was the ideal base for exploring the Peak District.

Entire house with hot tub

JaneRating, 5 stars5 days ago
we have just enjoyed a 4 night stay at this beautiful cottage. it was everything we wished for, clean, private and stunning views. The hot tub was amazing and we spent most of our time thanks to the amazing weather outside on the patio. it is the small thoughtful touches that make the difference, washing up liquid, laundry capsules, cooking oil, milk, bread and amazing eggs! The owner introduced himself when we first arrived and was very friendly but didn't intrude at all. We do not have a bad thing to say about this cottage, could have stayed longer! Thanks so much.

The fact that this was our second time here speaks volumes. Superb place, ideal for a 'get away from it all' break. Host lives quite close and responds immediatley to any queries. No cellphone coverage but superfast wi-fi. Can't wait till next year.
