'The Cwtch' at Dan y Coed is set in a small village 3 miles from Crickhowell and 3 miles from Abergavenny. This is a 200 year old cottage which is set in a quiet country lane surrounded by greenery in the heart of the Brecon Beacons national parks. The Cwtch is a separate and private part of the house, it does however share the main entrance and the stairs. It's semi self catering with fridge, microwave and toaster only. Comprising of two double bedrooms, private shower room and lounge.
“You will get a warm welcome From Barbara. The accommodation shares a front door and stairway, but elsewise is self contained, and Barbara is happy to let you decide how much contact, if any, there is. There is a fridge/freezer, kettle and microwave which we found perfect for our needs. There are local pubs that serve food, more choice is available at either Abergavenny or Crickhowel. The canal that goes through Gilwern provides a relatively flat walking surface and way to enjoy the countryside as an alternative to climbing the many local steep hills.”
A private ground floor apartment set in the heart of the Brecon Beacons. A perfect country escape to recharge those batteries. The property looks directly onto the sugar loaf mountain from the sitting room window. The property enjoys its own private landscaped garden. Ideally situated for access to a number of popular mountain bikes routes. The property also enjoys door step access to numerous scenic walks for both the seasoned walkers or those who enjoy more gentle strolls in the countryside.
“Lizzie’s place in the welsh countryside is a delightful peaceful retreat within a stones throw of some of the best attractions in the Brecon Beacons including the big peaks and the four falls trail (worth a trip!!). Very close to crickhowell in which The Bear was a wonderful pub with excellent food (Make sure you try the lamb rump- it was to die for!). Very secluded but excellent instructions will make sure you get to the property even in the dark. Very warm, cosy property with everything you might need to cook for yourself. Only slight downside is it is a downstairs flat, so it can be a bit noisy from the upstairs air bnb habitants even just walking around. Having said that it is in an incredibly peaceful location so other noise isn’t an issue.”
The Studio is a quiet and cosy detached retreat on an exclusive development yet it is situated just a few minutes walk from the centre of Crickhowell with its tourist office and many interesting shops, pubs, restaurants and takeaways. The Studio was newly let in late 2017 with fresh decoration, kitchen, fixtures, fittings and carpets. All continuously refreshed and updated to keep things fresh. The mezzanine bedroom has a comfortable King sized bed.
“The Studio is perfect for a couple visiting Crickhowell. It’s exactly as described and pictured - cosy, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The Studio is only a couple of minutes walk from the centre of Crickhowell - ideal for pubs, cafes and country walks.”
