Villa holiday rentals in Litsarda

We had a very pleasant stay at Villa Galania for 5 nights in May 2025. The facilities were excellent and clean. The location is peaceful, with beautiful mountain views. If you are looking for a place to relax and forget the city's hustle and bustle, this place is worth considering. The host's guide app on the phone is invaluable, providing good instructions and tips both inside and outside the villa. The mattresses were too firm for our taste, but we bought a new thicker mattress topper for the master bedroom, which made sleeping much more comfortable for us. We left the topper on the master bedroom bed for future guests to enjoy. This was our choice, and I do not want to criticize the host for this. However, if you are used to a soft mattress, the beds might feel hard. The villa is in a remote area, so I recommend renting a car. Follow the host's instructions to reach the villa, as Google Maps or other navigation apps will likely get you there via smaller and narrower roads.

We've had the most amazing week at villa Keronia. We fell in love with the village of Gavalohori and the villa was just perfect for the whole family. Friendly and welcoming locals, amazing food on the doorstep, 3km to the sea, incredible views all around. We are definitely coming back next year 😊

Beautiful accommodation, the view is breathtaking! Everything is as in the pictures, quiet location, only accessible by car. Plakias is 10 minutes away, there are many restaurants. In the evening, unfortunately, many insects are out and about, as it is in nature, but really quiet and relaxed from the location. Clear recommendation!

Loved our stay in this remote villa. Amazing views with sunsets from the pool. Beds were very comfortable with quality linens and towels. Nice having the pool heated! House is remote so bring all the food needed. Rather close to Elifonisi beach which was well worth the 20 minute drive. Driving is not for the faint of heart of heart. Many tavernas in the area within 15 minutes drive. Would stay again. Thank you Theoni!

Sunset Villa - it’s peaceful location and surroundings, amenities, cleanliness and views - oh the views - ticked every box. We had the perfect stay. Doron was easy to communicate with and was very helpful and flexible. We hired a car and visited Chania, Rethymno, Kalyves, Vamos, Lake Kournas (hired a pedalo and saw the turtles) and had several lazy days on Almyrida beach. So many great places to eat down in Almyrida plus several tavernas easily walkable in Plaka. Highly recommend Elpis. Everywhere we ate the food was wonderful and the people so welcoming and generous. Complimentary bread, wine, dessert, coffee, Raki.. The villa offered everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the pool, and having breakfast and relaxing evenings on the terrace. Beautiful villa, lovely layout and pool. Nice taverna 200m away. Good spots in the local village including a great bakery. You do need a car but the location is handy for visiting the main attractions/cities/beaches. Its only 35 minutes or so from the airport. Its a quiet location with good views of the mountains and was ideal for us. A very cleverly designed villa with floor to ceiling sliding windows that work perfectly, including mesh screens for any bugs. The entire main kitchen/living room opens out to the outdoor area and there is plenty of good quality furniture inside and out. Quiet ceiling fans in the bedroom for those that are not too keen on cold air conditioning. We had max temperatures of 27c but the inside of the villa remained quite cool due to the design. Lots of kitchen equipment so making meals is no problem. Host was very helpful and gave good local recommendations. We also had a lovely box of home made cheese pies on arrival, very tasty!

Outstanding views, 5* accommodation with hosts that go above and beyond and can’t do enough to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Recommendations of local places to eat. If you can, take use of the local chefs to come in and cook for you. Family of 7 cost us €280 as a guide without drinks and was beautiful food. The villa is spacious and relaxing and perfectly placed to walk into plaka and short drive to almyrida beach with beautiful fish tavernas and water activities. Party of 3 boys (15,15 and 12), my husband and I and his parents it was the perfect house to have our own spaces but still come together. The photos do not do the house justice at all. The outdoor kitchen, outside bath and jacuzzi plus all the outdoor terraces to each room are spectacular. Enjoy, you won’t be disappointed. Hope to be back again one day. The villa is stunning and looks exactly like the listed photos. The area is very remote, peaceful, and private. We had a lovely stay and would be delighted to come back again.

The villa was absolutely stunning and had been designed with such an eye for detail. The villa was also immaculate and cleaned regularly throughout our stay. The villa itself had everything you could possibly want, the pool and hot tub were exceptional and the facilities were just as pictured. The games room was a particular favourite of ours. The host was also fabulous! He met us upon arrival and made us feel very welcome. Providing everything we needed to get settled as well as for our little one! We cannot wait to stay again! An amazing villa, host and holiday!

The house is simply gorgeous. Our family had a wonderful Christmas holiday here. The host was very generous with items in the refrigerator and a well stocked kitchen. Lots of recommendations of places to eat in the area. Michael met us in the driveway upon arrival and showed us everything in the house, that was very kind. Especially loved access to the washer and dryer because we were traveling with kids. It was too cold to use the pool, but if you are here when it is warm, it would be such delight.

We cannot have asked for a better place to stay in Chania. The house is a gorgeous villa perfect for a large family vacation. The location is on a breathtaking hill overlooking the city and old Harbor. There are tons of windows letting in natural light. You can be an old town in eight minutes by car or about 45 minutes walking. There are plenty of local mini markets and restaurants nearby. Michalis was a model host, and gave us plenty of recommendations for day trips, restaurants, treats, activities, and gave us very kind gifts throughout our stay. If we ever return to Crete, we will be staying here again!

This is the best Airbnb we’ve stayed in, like a 5 star hotel. The villa is beautiful and luxurious. Everything is new and works. Christina the host is amazing, very helpful. Each room has a well sized bathroom with a great shower. A breakfast basket was left outside at 8:30 am each morning - delicious! The kitchen is spotless and has all the tools you’ll need. There’s a BBQ. The villa was cleaned midway and the cleaners did a great job. It is quiet and secure. We slept well. The outside space is stunning. The pool is a constant 1.5 metre depth so perhaps not suitable for very young children. The local village is small and very friendly. There’s a great shop 10 minutes walk away, and next to that is a good restaurant (taverna). You definitely need a car here but I’d recommend you have a car anyway to explore Crete. The coastal town of Almyrida is 10 mins drive away with restaurants and shops. Chania and Rethymno are approx 45 mins drive away. Both have lovely old towns.

My partner and I had the most incredible stay at this villa — it truly exceeded our expectations in every way. We fell in love with the peaceful, secluded location, the beautifully designed space, and all the thoughtful touches throughout the home. After the whirlwind of our wedding, this was exactly the kind of calm, relaxing retreat we needed. It felt like a private paradise. One moment that really stood out was how responsive and attentive our host was — after a dust storm rolled through, the pool needed a little love, and they had it cleaned and sparkling again in no time. It made such a difference and allowed us to fully enjoy every part of the property, inside and out. We grabbed a couple of their cards on the way out because we already know we’ll be back — this place is truly special, and the hospitality was top-notch. We’ll absolutely recommend it to any friends or family heading to Crete. Thank you again for an unforgettable stay. We’re already dreaming about our next trip

Lovely villa with sun on the balconies and pool almost all day. Beautiful view, well equipped and plenty of room. Mark was extremely helpful and responsive. The villa is in a lovely, not too touristy, village with great tavernas, two little shops and very kind staff who work there. A great location to explore Crete from!

I’ve given four stars for the price as we usually spend our vacations in the states and Villa’s are much cheaper. Villa Arda more than met or needs, spacious and clean. Two lovely ladies came and did a mid week clean including bedding and towels. There were nice touches on arrival, bottle of wine, local olive oil and honey etc. On a personal note a guest book would have been helpful so we knew where to eat and have some recommendations on the local area. The village and surrounding villages offer excellent food (pizza at Vamos) and the bread at the local mini market so delicious. We highly recommend a visit to lake Kournas where you can hire boats etc. jumping off the cliffs into the sea at Kalami and when the sun has set take a lounger to the back garden and star gaze- perfection. We’ve already recommended this villa to friends so yes we would recommend, however you must hire a car. Thanks to Richard and his wife.

This place is absolutely amazing. My wife and I spent our honeymoon at Aikaterinis apartment and we were completely satisfied. The inside provides everything what we needed. The description was absolutely accurate. The fridge is very spacious and there is a freezer as well. We cooked quite a lot therefore this was very helpful for us. The pool outside is very clean and also the temperature was perfect for the hot days in Greece. You can really relax at this place because there is not a lot of tourism at this area on Crete. Also the beach in front of the house is quite nice. We put our hammock under some trees and were watching the sunrise over Paleochora. I can totally recommend this apartment, especially for couples who want some relaxing time and together.

It would only be appropriate to start with Manousos, as a host simply incredible, so friendly, attentive and genuinely couldn’t have done enough for us. His location recommendations were some of the best spots we have ever been to. Between the 5 of us we couldn’t speak highly enough. The villa certainly matched every picture and more. As we drove up the driveway the ‘wow’ factor hit us all and from that moment forwards it set the tone for the week. On behalf of us all, we want to say thank you for making our holiday what it was and we certainly hope we decide to return again soon.

I cannot recommend this beautiful villa highly enough. We had a wonderful week long stay and it felt like home from home. The villa is very private, set back from the road and has the most stunning view and surroundings. It is very well equipped, and we had everything we needed. The pool is absolutely amazing - our children practically lived in it! There is also the dining area and sofa under the veranda, where you can relax in the afternoon heat and take in the amazing views. Mike was an exceptional host - he was very responsive and helpful and gave us lots of tips of places to visit and restaurant recommendations. Nothing was too much trouble. The villa is located a short drive from Almyrida, which has a beautiful beach and several fantastic restaurants that are right on the sea front - amazing views when enjoying your evening meal. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and we definitely hope to return one day!

We stayed for 4 nights in late April. A wonderful place in a fantastic location. Everything was as described. It was well appointed with lots of nice touches. They were very helpful with directions, local suggestions, etc. The outside area is large and beautiful. Only minor point to note is that all three bedrooms are on the ground level and there is only one bathroom on that level. The other is small and upstairs by the living room. We would definitely stay here again.
