Waterfront holiday rentals in Limpopo River

We have just come back from spending nine unforgettable nights at Penzhorn Rest Cottage and it exceeded all of our expectations - even better than the photos! Zonja, our host, welcomed us warmly on arrival and was so accommodating to make sure we were happy throughout our stay. Her hospitality has honestly blown us away! The highlight of our stay was the daily sight and sound of the river with nightly hippo visitors which added such a magical touch to our stay, immersing us in the beauty and awe of the African bush. Whether enjoying a coffee while reading by the river or relaxing in the ‘bosbad’ every moment felt really special to us! Zonja’s meticulous eye for detail was evident in the small touches around the cottage which made us feel right at home. This is a haven for nature lovers seeking a luxurious yet authentic escape. If you decide to book this listing you won’t be disappointed! We left feeling rejuvenated and are already looking forward to returning!

Too many things to mention so I’ll get straight to the point: -Location is great, view of the river from patio. Looks exactly like the pictures -Yes you can see hippos from your balcony, yes its 100% safe -Wi-Fi is fast and works -There is a designated braai/BBQ space -Really peaceful, great for get-away in nature -I’ve been to so many airbnbs, this one is my favorite!

grate place down by the river. Quiet, clean and off grid ( no signal, no wifi) just the brake we needed. thank you 5 star's from us. hope to come again soon

Getting to the place was easy. Upon arrival we were met by a lovely lady by the name of Veronica. She did the house tour and the place is really lovely and beautiful. Prior to my booking I asked Jordan if there is fishing seeing the pictures on their place she said yes there is. Even on arrival Veronica saw our fishing equipment and nothing was said about the rules of fishing. We took our fishing equipment to the river and caught about 5 fishes. While there the Owner by the name of Eric came to me and told me that the rules of fishing are that it’s a “catch and release policy” we were not supposed to fish out to keep for ourselves.Nothing was said prior about the policy even on their rules in the house. I contacted Jordan and she said to the fishing was only a favour to us so we should abide by the rules. Usually most establishments make rules known to their guests before they book. They said fire wood available and no fee was mentioned. We paid for the firewood. This put us off.

My family has stayed at many AirBnB properties over the years and across the globe. Joey and Vaughn were the most gracious hosts we’ve ever encountered. Truly wonderful people and beyond generous. We arrived at night without thinking of breakfast the following day - when we asked for recommendations for where to buy something, they instead marched over a giant tray of food from their own kitchen (hero status in the eyes of my two teenagers). A wonderful stay and even more wonderful hosts! Thank you!!

A beautiful off the grid and peaceful place in beautiful surroundings. Close to all main attractions on the Panorama route. A friendly welcome by Charl and two dogs, Bella and Eva. We will return.

Great space with everything that you can wish for. Extremely friendly staff, helping where ever they can. Very close to Phalaborwa gate!

The place was very beautiful. Had access to a game drive car that we could use anytime. The place has all utensils for a self-catering trip. The best part was the view into the mountains and trees. Enjoyed being here, the host was also very helpful anytime you had to communicate. There’s no network but there’s Wi-Fi and gas stove when there’s loadshedding.

Spacious place that gives you a classic African feel. The aircon's in the heat was amazing! So close to the Kruger gate makes it so well located.

There are few words to describe this beautiful and tranquil Guesthouse. A little piece of heaven. Joey and Vaughn are fantastic hosts.
