I highly recommend this location if you're looking to connect with nature or enjoy a peaceful moment with your family. Hoedspruit is an excellent place to immerse yourself in the tranquility of nature or experience some adventure. Susan and Per’s home is ideally situated in a secure estate monitored by security and surrounded by wildlife. We felt safe and well-connected. The home was updated, clean, and provided everything needed for a bush stay and more. We highly recommend this home for your next visit after exploring the wild. 5 stars!!!

Absolutely magical! Our stay at this incredible spot was nothing short of magical. The views are breathtaking, the space is beautifully and uniquely designed, and the entire experience felt like a peaceful retreat from the world. Waking up to the mountain view was unforgettable. Everything was just as described (if not better), and we felt right at home. Andre and Erna were wonderful, warm, and generous with their time and local knowledge. One of the most unforgettable experiences was feeding the zebras that wander right up to the house. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a special, soul-restoring getaway. We had a truly wonderful stay at the Black Eagle House in Hazyview with our family. The location is absolutely serene—nestled in nature and right near a peaceful lake, it offered the perfect escape from the city. The house itself was spotless and beautifully maintained, equipped with everything we needed to feel right at home. A big thank you to our amazing host, Sherilee, for her warm hospitality and for making the booking and check-in process so smooth. Also, special thanks to Ashton, the caretaker, who was always friendly, helpful, and ensured our stay was comfortable throughout. This place is a hidden gem—perfect for families looking for a relaxing, nature-filled getaway. We would love to return and highly recommend it to others!

A rustic, clean cottage. A few metres from an indigenous forest. A short walk to the ultra clear Stanford lake. A central location for all the atractractions in Magoebaskloof/Haenertsburg area.

This is a magical place to visit for a quiet getaway. All two and four legged travelers enjoyed this beautiful house on an even more beautiful land. The road getting there is a bit rough in spots so definitely recommend arriving during the day time. Highly recommend staying here!!

Josie is a lovely, communicative host. We checked in later than expected, but Josie made an effort to come and greet us the following day. The location is AMAZING! So peaceful, and we felt right at home. It’s even more special to us now, as we got engaged at this beautiful place, and it will forever hold a special place in our hearts. We definitely recommend Josie’s beautiful cabin to anyone wishing to get away from the norm and unwind. We absolutely plan to be back in the future!

A rustic cottage in the woods, with a beautiful view of the dam. Very old house but everything works and has a wonderful old world charm. Fantastic, huge porch. Wishing I had booked another night!

We loved staying on the farm- such beautiful forests, a lake to swim in and a short walk to pick blueberries and have tea at a café.

We were looking to retreat away from people and noise to get refreshed. This home met our needs perfectly. Nothing but nature on every side of the cottage, with the occasional animal strolling by throughout the day. The house itself was well equipped with comfortable chairs and beds to relax and unwind. Sean and Alex were close enough and very responsive when we needed something, but otherwise you wouldn't even know they whether they were anywhere nearby or not. I also really enjoyed being able to walk around and explore freely with no shortage of places or distance to walk. Highly recommend!

An Unforgettable Stay at Elandsvlei! We had an absolutely incredible stay at Elandsvlei! The entire weekend was peaceful and rejuvenating. We explored every waterfall we could find, enjoyed picnics all over the farm, and took long, scenic walks. The offroading opportunities were fantastic and added a real sense of adventure to our trip. One of the true highlights was stargazing in the boma by a cozy fire — an experience we’ll never forget. The sunrises streaming through our windows each morning were simply breathtaking. The house we stayed in was perfect — it had everything we needed and more, making our stay extremely comfortable. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding. We were warmly welcomed at the gate and personally escorted to our accommodation. Elandsvlei truly exceeded all our expectations, and we can't wait to return!
