Incredible Massai Mara getaway: room 2

I can wholeheartedly recommend Oscar’s place. It is a house from the 70s not modern and not luxurious but you get all you might need or want. A sparklingly clean room with a bathroom. A common space with comfortable coaches and a fireplace lit every evening. The kitchen is spacious and partially equipped. It’s not exactly for self cooking and would definitely could use a kettle. Lenoi will make your stay brilliant, she’s there all day to manage the property she will introduce you to local culture, translate if needed, help you make yourself a coffee. All in all really amazing place on the verge of conservation area so you get to observe animals without entering the park. Oscar was a great host.

Incredible Massai Mara getaway: room 1

Local experience for those looking to get away from mass tourism. The house is located in a privileged place in a conservation area which is less crowded, the rates are cheaper than in the national reserve and you can get closer to the animals. Oscar and Sylvia recommended different activities, cooked very rich local food and made it easier for us to contact Dominc, a very good driver, always with a smile, who made us the transfer to the airport and the safaris during the 2 days. With Dominic we saw the 5 big five and I was always attentive and communicated with the other drivers. Thank you Dominc. Sylvia and Oscar for this experience.

Thanks Oscar for being a great host and the prompt and extensive communication regarding stay, activities and transport. As described, the guesthouse is located in the heart of the conservancy with ample wild life surrounding the place. The room was clean, food homely and tasty, and Oscar was very helpful in sorting the transport and local activities. A special mention to Jackline who was my local guide, she also took me to her Masai village which was an amazing experience, given I got a chance to experience it from the lens of not a tourist but a visitor. If you want to soak in the authentic Mara experience, the people, animals and land- this is the place for you!
