Holiday rentals with a kayak in Lake Rousseau

Andres's Home in Dunnellon was a wonderful place. There was plenty to keep us occupied. His place has a beautiful pool, lots of seating on the patio, grill, cornhole, pool table, spacious kitchen, and a nice bedroom set up for the kids that kept our daughter and her friends very comfortable. Our bedroom was a quiet oasis with clean comfortable bedding and a view of the pool. We had everything we needed in the kitchen to cook for a hungry crew. We were able to use a couple of Andres's kayaks at KP Hole, just minutes away. The kids enjoyed tubing and swimming at Rainbow Springs. Andres's home was the perfect vacation getaway. He has thought of everything.

The place is everything that we expected and more. It was like a resort. Everyone had a great time.

Kristen was a wonderful host. Friendly & accommodating. The house was lovely, comfortable, and well equipped. I especially loved the upstairs loft with the picture window that offered a great view of the surrounding marshlands from the upstairs desk. The outdoor spaces were great for cookouts & fishing too if you’re up for a little kayaking. There are set of wind chimes that sing the most beautiful melody creating an almost hypnotically relaxing atmosphere. I would highly recommend!!

This house exceeded our expectations. It was beautiful, spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed. We loved enjoying the wildlife in the yard, taking the kayaks out on the river, relaxing around the firepit and using the hot tub. We ended our evenings cozy on the couch watching movies on the projector. Megan's guidebook had some great suggestions of places to go in the area and she responded very quickly every time I contacted her. I would definitely stay here again!

House was great location- close to town and restaurants but far enough away to feel the country vibe. House backed up to a pasture which provided privacy and great view. The river activities were all close enough to spend our days on the river and have a house close by to come home to.

Christina’s Rainbow Cove was everything we were expecting and it had every single thing we needed. We were looking for a place to relax and unwind with family for our son’s graduation and her spot was the perfect place for that. Everyone was comfortable and had their own space. She has kayaks and paddle boards for everyone and you could not beat the direct access to the water right off her property. She’s super friendly and responsive and really cares that you have a great time. Her house is also just minutes away from Rainbow Springs State Park and down the road from the grocery store if you need anything while you’re there. There are also good restaurants really close by. Swampy’s is a really cool one right on the river, just to mention one. There was also the added bonus of having access to Rio Vista, a private park with picnic areas, a boat ramp, a volleyball net, etc. I definitely recommend Christina’s place and would certainly go back there if we are ever in the area again.

Loved our stay. Erin Ashley was super helpful, communicative and kind. The house was just what I needed, peaceful on the canal just off the main river. I enjoyed taking out one of the kayaks and exploring the river. Even made a long trip upstream to a nearby spring thanks to Erin Ashley’s recommendation. And the porch overlooking the water was a great spot to unwind. I’ll definitely keep this one on the list next time I visit!

This stay offered a very nice home in a beautiful location, with free access to a decent boat ramp and 'beach' shallow spot for the kids to swim just 3 roads away. Hosts were attentive and responsive. The home was clean and felt safe, the neighborhood felt welcoming, and the location was good for food, shops and water crafting.. lots if available water toys and bikes in the garage for our use. 10/10 recommend

Family of 5 (3 kids) and two dogs from VA. Felt the house was perfect with a great yard and cool trees. The dogs didn’t need leashed and could be at ease with pool access being safe. (My dogs can’t swim) The sheets were real cotton (this means a lot) and the beds were very comfortable. Plenty of bedding and pillow options. Kitchen had the basics to cook meals which was easier. The house had everything we needed to have a great vacation other than food to eat. Close to everything we wanted to do. A great trail that was not a commercialized walk where we saw armadillos, manatees, an alligator, bald eagles, snakes and we could hear two owls talking. It was perfection. The swing out back was a nice peaceful touch and I really appreciated the grill. We saw crystal clear water at three sisters while kayaking as well as dolphins at sunset. We took a boat cruise to an island and found more shells I’ve seen in my life. I’d come back again and again. No hoopla where tons of people were.

Shannon’s place was so cozy!! It was so clean and decorated so well. The location was close to restaurants and being right on the canal was so convenient. We were able to paddle Monkey Island. Shannon was a phenomenal host. She made sure we were taken care of and was very responsive. Would definitely stay again.

Highly recommend the apartment, nice backyard directly at the water. Beautifully renovated bath- and bedrooms. Well-equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook your own meals. Hosts were reachable and very supportive. Perfect for a weekend-escape into the green!

We are so happy we chose Dardens cabin as our spot to reset and relax. We work a lot and rarely get a chance to take time for ourselves and we were definitely due. My favorite part was being able to sit in the screened in patio, read a book and enjoy the beautiful nature outside while my boyfriend cooked on the grill. This place did exactly what we needed it to do and would definitely come back again.

I don't know where to begin! This home is perfect for a getaway. It's cute, comfortable, in a nice quiet neighborhood and has the private dock. We were there almost two weeks and I could have stayed longer. We spent a lot of time on the screened in porch and out on the dock to do some fishing and just take in the local nature. Julie made recommendations on things to do in the area. Inverness is a very nice little city with about anything you can think of to do, not to mention the things to do within 30-60 mins. My bottom line is I highly recommend staying here! I bet you'll feel just like we did when we left.. sad it was time to go. But we will be back! :) Five star host!

It was a cute clean home with all the extra stuff you may forget. It was great.

What a beautiful lake house just as shown. Very cozy & decor was amazing. The view is super & the sunsets are spectacular.

We were looking for a quiet get away and we got what we were looking for!!! Seclusion and quiet!!!! Saturday was a little loud with the summers launching and loading in the empty lot next door but it was short and brief, so it didn’t bother us.

This is a perfect spot for a peaceful weekend getaway and exploring in nature. A highlight of the stay was seeing all the wildlife on the Chassahowitzka River! This cabin was cozy, and felt like home. We appreciated amenities like board games, the grill and kayaks (& lifevests) which made the experience seamless. Make sure you bring your own mask and snorkel to make the most of this great spot with its very own river access!!

My family spent Father’s Day weekend at Casey’s cabin and we loved every second of it! Peaceful, full of wildlife, private, and family friendly! What a weekend to remember. I would highly recommend this place to any nature lovers or families/couples looking to “unplug”. Can’t wait to book again!

Cutest cabin ever! The cabin decor was a treat witin itself. Cabin was comfy with ample room for 2. Our host was fabulous and our dig received a warm welcome as well. She was always available, stayed in contact, friendly and very accommodating. She even went so far as to get us a grill, hotplate, and a pan for our stay. I wasn't sure about the location on the property as it faced the restaurant with the parking lot outside the door, but the eye for detail in the landscaping made it feel private. Although the restaurant gets busy, it was relatively quiet. This a must stay for a lovely getaway.

SUCH an amazing place to stay. Amazing breakfast with all homemade foods and things grown in their garden, viktoria was so kind and helpful. She made us feel so welcome and she had great recommendations as to how to spend our time! Very easy check in/check out, very peaceful and comfortable. And although it’s a guest house right next to their main home, it felt very private! Would 100% recommend!!! Was such a lovely trip for me and my boyfriend we are even hoping to come back eventually to stay with them again :) Also all the animals were so fun to watch and play with!

Leslie was very responsive. The setting is private and the covered deck on rainy days wonderful to relax on. Leslie provided much appreciated extras like healthier cooking pans, sharp knives, a cutting board, and a medicine kit which are not usually provided in my years of experience. A word of caution apparently regarding airbnb policy. Check for potential price changes on your reservation Even IF you are subtracting something!!! Because I didn’t end up taking my dog with (deleting the pet fee), it changed my reservation and a $142.20 increase (county tax fee) was added! 😱

Experience was perfect and exactly what my husband and I needed to get some R&R and peace away from the busy city. Lots of great fishin off the dock. Bluegill, gar, bowfin,catfish, and a wee baby alligator. Friendly people nearby and good food and live music at the restaurant across the street. We will definitely return.
