Located on Portage Lake in Chassell, MI, near Houghton with quick access to Michigan Tech University, this rustic family cabin is a great place for either an overnight stay or a longer getaway. It provides a great home base for travel in the Keweenaw peninsula! As a 1930s cabin with a sauna on the lake along with a great view, the focus is on the experience! We find guests who truly enjoy our place are flexible with rustic conditions (not looking for Holiday Inn Express) and young at heart!

All the amenities - fast wi-fi, 3 TVs (satellite), full size kitchen, washer/dryer, and plenty of parking near the snowmobile trail. Mont Ripley is right nearby for skiers. Two full bathrooms and two half bathrooms. New grill added on 6/19/2020. The home is being updated as needed. From new oven mitts to anything else needing an upgrade. Check out the pictures. Beautiful home on quiet, peaceful Portage Lake. Only 1 mile out of Chassell and just 8 miles from downtown Houghton. This home is perfect for families visiting their children at Michigan Tech or friends on a get away to the beautiful Copper Country. Summers are great for boating and swimming in the lake. Fall colors are amazing especially along the bike trail just outside our door. Winters are great with skiing and snowmobiling. The dock is unavailable for renovations at this time.
