Great place! I stay here every time I visit Antigua if I can. It is safe and centrally located next to one of the most popular tourist attractions in Antigua. Gilda is very helpful and responsive. The decor is very welcoming, with lots of Guatemalan artisanal handcrafts. It's a spacious apartment, with a living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom, two bathrooms, laundry and front and rear balconies. There's a washer and dryer, which is very convenient and not typical. For me, the main disadvantage is that the doorways are a bit low. I'm 6'2". Usually I remember to duck, but I tend to bump my head about once a week during my stays here. The windows do a very good job of blocking sound, but it's a popular, busy street and if you're sensitive to noise, it could be a problem. (But the noise doesn't bother me.) Sleeping accommodations are limited -- two people could sleep in the big bed in the bedroom and one could sleep on the single bed in the living room.

We had a lovely stay here, the area is peaceful but very walkable to all parts of Antigua. As other Airbnb reviews have noted the bathroom, kitchen and utility area were private, but detached from the main sleeping area. This was no problem for us but something worth considering if you are visiting during the rainy season where you may need to dash out. It’s mostly under cover and only a few steps. Kendra was a lovely host who gave us complete privacy even though the Airbnb is next to the main home. She was also super responsive over What s app and really friendly!

It was an amazing experience to stay at El Maques. The unit is beautifully decorated, spacious, and looks just like the photos. The court yard is cozy. The staff are very friendly and kind and I felt very welcome. It is just a 10 min walk to the main square. David is very communicative and helpful. I highly recommend this place and I I'll definitely stay here again if I come back to Antigua :)

The location was very peaceful, but very close walking to amazing restaurants, coffee shops and just a couple of blocks to the hub of Antigua. The roof deck had incredible views of the volcanoes.

This is a perfect place for several families (or a very big one) to spread out and enjoy each other’s company — enough space to relax and roam. The kitchen was great for cooking and well equipped. The large porch and large pool were great for fun, card games, spreading out. The grounds/ garden is ample for kids to run around, and the lake paddle boards make enjoying the lake easy. Rooms are spread out and clean, everything works for a change! Nice, new bathrooms and amenities. The cabin is cute and quiet for someone wanting space from the main house. Eduardo is very responsive and having Susy clean and help out made this a perfect weekend—we truly relaxed and celebrated. One of our favorites so far—-not too far from town. We hope to return! Highly recommend this home for your stay in Antigua! Absolutely loved it. Surrounded by delicious restaurants and walkable. Plus their ground keeper is amazing! So kind and helpful.

I really liked the house, it was close to what we needed, shopping center, bank, restaurants, cafe, bakery, supermarket. A little traffic but it was very useful, a spacious house, I think it would be perfect if it had air conditioning but the rest was fine. The power went out a couple of times, but I think it's normal there. Mr. Jose always responded in time, thank you. I think we'll be back

Great place to stay in the heart of Zona 4. Lively area surrounded by restaurants, supermarket downstairs. The apartment is spacious and comfortable, and the host is super responsive and friendly. Recommended!

I loved the fully equipped kitchen, the apartment was bigger than expected. The only issue is the noise, you can hear from other apartments or outside. But its totally worth it, it was great!

Don't think about it, just book it. Rest like a baby.

Everything great the 24 hour security feels nice & the parking right in front is hard to find in Antigua. WiFi works best from second floor. Nice small patio outdoor area & close enough to walk places. She has a nice few selection of books in English to read while at your stay too which was a nice touch. Nice hot water. Only wish was that they had laundry detergent & an iron that usually other air bnbs do have but nonetheless sweet host & felt safe staying here as a woman
