Alapiha Arboretum Guesthouse and Sauna

Cozy guesthouse and sauna in a wild wooden park. There are about 250 different species of wooded trees and shrubs in a two-acre area. The tree was planted in 1970 and forms its own microclimate, where the air is clean and good to breathe. The area is partly still in natural space and renovation is being made in the area. Cozyly decorated, beach side three-bedroom log cabin in a cozy villa area. The windows and yard of a 78 square meter (59m2 +19m2) cottage offer stunning views of Pielinen. The swim dock is about 30 meters away, so a dip from the sauna to the lake is great! There is a fixed cast grill in the lawn yard, plus a Weber charcoal grill. During the summer season, you'll have access to a rowing boat and a paddleboard at no additional cost. In the heat, a new air source heat pump keeps the cottage cool.

Beautiful log house on the beach in Pielinen. Peaceful location, stunning scenery, and great outdoor activities best describe this home. In winter, the ski track can be reached from the ice in front of the cottage. In addition, the ski trails of the Timitra ski resort are within walking distance of the cottage. Good hillside opportunities in the yard of the cottage, as well as a great setting for winter activities. However, the city's services are available a few kilometers away.

A 100-year-old log cabin with comforts of year-round living in the yard of the main house. For multi-night guests during the heating season, in addition to electricity, furnace heating. Trees ready, guidance or heating if needed. Good road connections. About 10 minutes to Outokumpu and 30 minutes to Joensuu. Koli about an hour and Valamo Monastery about 30 minutes by car. There's also a dog cage outside with a small coop.

Kuohu is an atmospheric, warm sauna cottage completed in 2015 by a small river. In the ring of a raft, you can relax in the sauna, barbecue, or outdoor fire. The cottage is located on a small dirt road, in complete privacy. Koli National Park is about. 30min drive, Höytiäinen Beach is just over 2km away. We stayed 5 nights in Kristiina's cosy semi-attached apartment. Although, the apartment felt more like a cottage. The place was well-equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The nature around is absolutely stunning with excellent hiking routes. We were surprised by the lake views from the apartment and enjoyed sitting on the terrace in the evenings. The apartment is fairly close to amenities, although having your own transport seems essential.

The cottage is situated at the end of a rough track. Kristiina sends good instructions as the navigator is inaccurate. The view from the cottage is perfect... straight onto Lake Pielinen. There is a large area for use and it feels totally private. The cottage is comfortable and spacious.

An atmospheric wilderness cottage near the peaks of Koli

It was a very special experience without electricity, heating and running water to spend a night in the forest. However, the oven makes it nice and warm and there are many battery power lamps to provide light. Janne is a super host who also helps if you haven't read the description quite accurately. So she provided us with bedding and saved us! The "toilet" is outside the cottage, but that's part of the experience too. We were super happy with the place and would definitely go back.
