Family-friendly holiday rentals in Kawarau Falls

Travelling with family of 6 plus grandparents. Was a great stay and 5-10 mins from airport and 5-10mins from town depending on traffic. The layout was good for us as we could stay upstairs while the grandparents had the self contained unit downstairs. The main living room was great and had a big window that captured the views amazingly. The outside had a nice little outside space with table and chairs and great on the couple of sunny days. The hottub was good on our ski days and overlooked the water which was nice. The property was clean and functional and had the basics. The bedrooms were on the smaller side but was fine for that style and time of building. One thing to keep in mind is that the driveway is a little harder to get down coming from the south if you have a long wheel base. This is due to the orientation of the hairpin corner. It sometimes hard to get out from during busy times if heading south as you cannot clearly see around the corner and can be dangerous.

Great place to stay. Nice views and a well equipped kitchen. Some of the pictures were more flattering/spacious than the actual space. Overall was a great stay. The spa pool was a great addition and fit 4 adults.

A beautiful home in an absolutely stunning part of the world, the property is exactly as described but also very comfortable and very well equipped. The view from the balcony can’t be beaten and the hot tub is the cherry on top, we had an amazing stay, thank you for having us.

A true bed and breakfast in a sea of stale air bnbs! Sharon met me upon arrival and showed me to my private abode in the center of a working cherry (and other things!) farm. The fridge was stocked with eggs, milk, butter and bread, and there was a nespresso machine + a selection of teas. She also gave me a book of local wineries and their backgrounds which I greatly appreciated and used throughout my stay. Would stay here again if I’m ever back in the area!

Photos don’t do the view justice. Jeremy was a great host. This is a cabin type experience. We stayed in the winter and used the cottage as a home base for skiing and other activities which was great. Quick ride over to Arrowtown and Queenstown but far away enough to feel private and peaceful. Some important points regarding previous reviews I read about the place being “cold”…the ground floor is all slate stone…as Jeremy recommended, just bring some sandals or slippers to wear around. There is a large heat pump, a lovely pot belly stove, and space heaters and all the beds have blanket heaters which we actually didn’t use because they were too hot…so it’s easy to stay warm and the view and coziness are well worth it, but if you’re expecting a thermostat in a hotel room that you set and leave…this wouldn’t be the place for you. We loved our stay and the host was very responsive.

Stu’s guesthouse was a lovely getaway in New Zealand! Close to Queenstown, ZQN airport, and to many outdoor activities. Very peaceful and private, soft linens, and felt right at home. It’s clear that this is not a cookie cutter Airbnb, but a real guesthouse, and it shows in the fit and finish of the property, and Stu’s helpful and kind approach to hosting. I would stay again in a heartbeat!

My family enjoyed our time in this beautiful whare(house) from the spa, to having dinner(BBQ)outside with a view with the fire going at the same time. Everything we wanted in our stay in Queenstown. I’ll definitely recommend this house for family of 11 (6adults,3kids & 2 infants)

We have stayed in over 35 Airbnb‘s all over New Zealand in the world and this is one of the most beautiful million dollar views and beautiful homes and greatest Host that we have ever stayed with. I would recommend this as my favorite Airbnb that I have ever stayed it’s perfect for families that are large or even small groups. It’s an incredible garden in view unlike any other and the house has absolutely everything you need.

Bridget is amazing host. She was responsive throughout the stay. Great location right in front of the lake. We enjoyed our stay in Queenstown. Place is also close to the restaurants and iconic places. Great place to park 2 big SUVs. I would recommend this place for your stay in Queenstown. Thanks

We had the most beautiful stay at Suzanne's house and were so pleasantly surprised with all the property. Suzanne would be the friendliest and most helpful host and nothing was ever a hassle for her. We had an issue with the stove and she spent ages trying to work out a solution and not once made us feel like we were being a hassle. Her property is on beautiful acreage about 10 mins from the business of Queenstown main streets and as soon as you drive in, you feel completely relaxed and could stay there forever. If you love to stay at unique places which will create more travel memories, then I highly recommend this property. Suzanne gave us lots of tips for local travel and we really appreciated her knowledge. Thank you for a memorable time in Queenstown.

We had a wonderful stay. The accommodation was comfortable, warm and convenient. We had 3 adults stay and the space was used very well. Great amenities in the kitchen. Bathroom was clean. Great stay overall.

Fantastic location, clean and tidy. Lovely and warm on cooler evenings. So handy being 2 minutes walk to the Cadrona pub for dinner.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Scott and Teresa’s and would definitely stay again. The living space and kitchen area is big with more than enough room for our family of four. The bedrooms are big enough for suitcases and moving around, comfy beds and bathrooms great. A lovely gas fireplace, heaters in two of the bedrooms and beds had electric blankets. The house is in a quiet neighborhood and only a short walk into Arrowtown or across to Millbrook.

We had a wonderful stay at Tracy's home! Upon arrival, we were in awe of the modern property and beautiful surroundings. There was a blend of rain and sun during our stay, so we took advantage of every space. The home's interior is both contemporary and comfortable, with a sitting room and living room on one end and bedrooms and bathrooms on the other. A great layout. The outdoor space is generous, with a large deck, roomy seating area, and excellent pool to take in the mountain views. If you're lucky, you'll get a visit from the adorable neighborhood cat. This home was in a great central location for all of our activities – close to the action, yet far enough away for peace and seclusion. We hope to return someday!

Suzanne’s property was the best decision we could have made for our trip. Gorgeous rustic design and a working ranch with deer stock nearby. Halfway between Queenstown and Glenorchy the location was perfect for a quiet retreat after a being out and about in town/nature. There are a few guest houses at the location and everyone was friendly and we had plenty of privacy while not being too isolated. Loved it and would stay again or recommend it to friends.
