Fitness-friendly holiday rentals in Katugastota

This was our first stay at Nimendra’s place and certainly won’t be our last, we’re already planning to return! The apartment felt like home, with a calm atmosphere and access to excellent shared facilities. The pool and gym were spotless and inviting, and the views of the Knuckles range were simply breathtaking. One heads-up for future guests: on arrival, we were asked by building staff (not Nimendra) to open and unpack our luggage entirely as part of a check-in procedure. We respect the security, but after an 11-hour flight and a long drive to Kandy on the same day, it wasn’t the warmest welcome, this could be better flagged in advance. In the flat, a few extra kitchen items (e.g. pasta strainer, dish rack, dustpan) would make self-catering easier. Despite these, everything else about the stay was top-notch. The space was quiet, spotless, and well thought out, and Nimendra was helpful and responsive throughout. A lovely stay in every way!

He made sure we felt at home and all our needs are met. The house is beautiful and spacious. The security was also very nice and helpful. If you’re looking for a safe and cozy place, this is it. I would recommend this house anytime. Thank you Prasad for everything.

Lakmal and wife are great friendly hosts. Their house is very clean and has a very natural view of the mountain. I highly recommend his place for anyone who is interested in visiting Kandy.

We had a very enjoyable stay. The host was very responsive and went out of his way to make us comfortable. The workers on site were very helpful and friendly. The kitchen had all what we needed. The rooms were very comfortable and the bathrooms were more than what we expected. Clean and comfortable place and I recommend the place wholeheartedly. 5 min walk to the Katugasthota city center. 30 min car ride to the Kandy city center. Most banks and shops are just within reach. If you need a Tuk, they are just outside the main gate.

The location was perfect for our needs. the Air-conditioning in the bedrooms was perfect and with windows open in the living room and kitchen it was comfortable we were there for about 17 days and we couldn't have asked for a better stay. but what really stood out and made our experience the best Airbnb stay was the host Lakmal and his family was so helpful, if we had questions or needs he was quick to respond and helpful as possible. he helped organize cooking lessons on Sri Lankan food at my wife's request. when we struggled to find a ride to the train station at 430 am for an early train twice he was able to organize a van for us with 1 days notice. Lakmal maybe the best host we have ever had. we plan to go back several more times to Sri Lanka and when we go we will only go when he has availability. It was good value and had the basics we needed a simple setup functional and tidy. I would highly recommend. my favorite thing was the instant hot water tankless system. great!

This place is the best place I've ever stayed in Sri Lanka!Feel like home!It feels like home, and my mom's cooking is awesome!If you come, you must try it. Every time you come back from the wind and rain outside, you feel that you are suddenly quiet, and someone is waiting for you with a warm feeling.Mom will make you a cup of milk, hot, Ceylon black tea, listen to you share the fun things in Sri Lanka, it is a kind of very serious curiosity and open, the son is also very gentle and reliable, each other support a good mother-son relationship!I've missed you since I left!I hope we can meet again someday!

Jon’s place is comfy and has got very beautiful surroundings. It’s almost in the jungle with all the different trees and flowers and birds singing throughout the day. You can walk around to the nearest city, Digana which is ~30 mins away on foot, or walk a bit up the hill to a restaurant with a really nice view over the golf club and the victoria dam. The house itself is pretty calm and decorated beautifully with cool paintings. The shower was hot and I enjoyed the breeze in the room in the morning. I had breakfast thanks to Danu and could manage my work throughout the day. Jon is the coolest host, referred a very good bar in Kandy that’s got live music and good food & vibe. He knows a lot about the area and sri lanka in general. He also made me delicious meals and was very responsive and a good company.

An absolutely fabulous place. Great hosts. The staff took care of us to the hilt. The decor and the ambiance gave the real first-hand experience of a colonial residence. The bathroom fittings, the linen, towels all were top class. Everything reflected the host's taste and attention to detail. The only glitch was the non-availability of hot water in the bathrooms for both days. That was a bit of a dampener. I am sure the host would address this problem on top-priority basis. Overall, the property is highly recommended.

Ruwanaka and his family are so friendly and welcoming. They made us feel right at home! The house is beautiful, peaceful and private. The downstairs room with private bathroom which we stayed in was perfect, clean and cosy. We used Kandy as a transit before we took the train to Ella. We were quite tired from the previous days travel and we are not big city people so this accomodation was perfect, as it was 10 mins tuk tuk outside of the city. The room looks out onto a lush tropical garden. It was so relaxing. Ruwanaka even helped us to navigate ordering an Uber eats, as we really just wanted to chill and not leave the house in the evening. We left feeling reset and ready to take the next part of our Sri Lanka trip 😊 Thank you 🙏🏻 Perrie & Ben

To get the Sri Lankan Heritage feeling this is a great place to stay - very tasteful interiors and friendly service staff!
