House holiday rentals in Kastellos

We absolutely loved our stay at this gorgeous villa. From the moment we met Stefanos and his parents at their nearby taverna to say hello and get the keys, we knew it would be a great vacation. We were welcomed with cold drinks and plates of delicious food. Stefanos personally took us to the villa, showed us around and answered all our questions. There was a beautiful food basket (vegetables, fruit, olive oil, and other Crete delights) waiting for us as a further welcome. The villa itself is even more gorgeous than in the photos. It is beautifully appointed and each of the 4 bedrooms has its own bath so it was perfect for the couples staying there. The view is stunning - looking out over olive groves and farm land with the sea in the distance. We found fantastic beaches nearby, groceries and great tavernas in local villages. We also enjoyed some swims in the pool at the villa. All in all, a wonderful stay and a huge thanks to Stefanos and his family for so warmly welcoming us!

Very nice stay, big clean pool and awesome surroundings. BBQ lovers: there is a bbq on site but they will have to pre-check with the fire department if BBQing is allowed due to fire risk (pretty reasonable). For us it worked but take it as a heads up. Super cute place overall 😉

The four of us enjoyed the stay very much. The location was perfect, so you could easily reach the beach and activities. The service and the design of the outdoor area were particularly outstanding.

All the furniture and appliances are top-of-the-line – everything was spotless, high-quality, and incredibly comfortable. Ria was a fantastic host – super friendly, always quick to respond, and very helpful. We really appreciated how kind and welcoming she was. We truly enjoyed every moment of our stay and would recommend this house to absolutely everyone. A perfect getaway!

I recently stayed at this beautiful villa in Greece, and it exceeded all my expectations! The property is stunning, with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape and a fantastic pool that was perfect for cooling off during the hot days. The villa itself is spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with all the amenities you could need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was fully equipped, making it easy to prepare meals, and the bedrooms were cozy and inviting. I particularly loved spending time on the terrace, enjoying the serene views and the tranquil atmosphere. The location is ideal, situated in a nice, quiet area but still close to local attractions, beaches, and charming villages. It was the perfect base for exploring the beauty of Greece. A place to stay with a truly breathtaking view. We felt very comfortable. Our two-year-old son also found his way around very well and played with us at the pool, but of course you should always keep an eye on him. Overall, the accommodation looks much more spacious than in the photos and is well equipped. We didn't miss anything. There are even dumbbells for sports and chairs and umbrella for the beach and a potty for children. Communication with Eleni went very well. She always reacted quickly and made everything possible. We will be happy to come back.

A short walk from downtown Kalyves, but far removed from the hustle and bustle of the town of Kalyves. Several good places to eat, with some services such as medical and a pharmacy, a couple small markets with enough provisions. The location had absolutely amazing views of the bay of Souda, very private and quiet. The property is secured by an electric gate, to keep wandering tourists away, in that this accommodation appears historical in nature, maybe all that’s left of an old kastelli, based on the rock walls. I could be wrong, but I would guess that the actual accommodation is what used to be the powder magazine for the old fort. We enjoyed the place immensely.

Excellent location to relax with an amazing view. Was the perfect size for a couple. Color and decorations make the apartment even more charming.

One of the best villas I’ve stayed in as it felt so homely, and the outside area is gorgeous. We all loved it! Nikolaos was an amazing host and was always recommending places to visit and days out for us to try. The pool cleaner was easy to use, just put it in first thing in the morning and it will clean for around 2 hours. As well, having the robotic lawn mower mow the lawn while we were there too was a nice feature. Nikolaos was always responsive and made us feel right at home, as well as even leaving local olive oil for us to take back with us from our trip! The local taverna just at the bottom of the villa was sensational, and I would really recommend trying as much of the food off of the daily cooked menu as possible. Would stay here again!

Lovely week in this home. We were quiet and the view from the terrace is amazing. The change of sheets and towels during the week is appreciated. The apartment is new inside and very clean. Common areas are cleaned every day which makes the place very clean. Thanks to its configuration, we were able to interact with people who live there and who gave us addresses of taverns and places to visit. After a few days we found small restaurants and beaches next door, very nice. Our stay was excellent!

Absolutely perfect. Calm, private and beautiful location. A traditional stone house with modern equipment. Overlooking the valley and sea on the horizon. Surrounded by olive trees below and only the mountain top behind you. Super clean. Nice fresh food like fruit, drinks and bread were ready in the fridge! Lefteris was considerate and friendly. Responded quickly if there was anything you needed. So nice! Lefteri's brother Rafael owns the olive grove and holds tours. Warm, local and informing 10/10 highly recommend it. Book it as soon as you arrive, it's worth seeing! Heads up you need a car to stay here, and the final street leading to the house is super steep at 2 points. Get a car with high ground clearance, a low car will scrape! Also in Greece hotels and rentals need identification by law for tax reasons. So name and id or passport number. I would recommend that during the stay for 1 day you just enjoy the property and views. Relax, take it all in. Just perfect, book it!

Great place with a great host Thank you

The villa is absolutely gorgeous. It is in a small town with no facilities (apart from a very informal cafe next door), but the quiet area was exactly what we were looking for. Yes there are some dogs etc, but not excessive, the noise is just local life in the town, which was actually really lovely. The hosts were extremely communicative, we had a few minor issues, but they were sorted in a matter of minutes! Loads of tavernas, beaches, supermarkets within a very short drive, spoilt for choice for loads of amazing food. Highly recommend a stay here, the villa, area, food and people were all fantastic.

Our stay at Niko's house was just great! The rooftop terrace offers a breathtaking view that you can even enjoy from the hot tub. The location is quiet and relaxing without feeling restricted. The house is spacious and full of loving details that create a special atmosphere. We felt completely comfortable and can highly recommend this house!

We loved our stay in the villa, it was even more beautiful than the pictures. Beautiful mountain views with the privacy we were looking for. Check in was super easy, our host gave clear instructions and was helpful whenever we needed anything. Highly recommend!!

The little house was exactly as described, well equipped and perfect for couples for a sunny break. The pool was amazing and the rooftop terrace afforded us the most spectacular sunset views! the location is private and peaceful, whilst remaining a sensible distance to shops and fantastic restaurants. We had an awesome time at Nikos’s place, he gave very useful tips and his apartment is at walking distance from everything in Matala(as the village is very small). As mentioned in other posts, there are quite a few steps to the place but you get used to it, and it’s a great workout after a big dinner in one of the restaurants below. One of the days it was too windy to be on the beach so we stayed on the terrace of the accommodation with a great view of the sea, the sound of the waves and privacy from others. Perfect for a romantic getaway. Thank you Nikos!

We had an incredible stay at the Elachron villa! From the moment we arrived, Theodora welcomed us warmly in person, making us feel right at home. She went above and beyond, cooking us a delicious breakfast one morning and Stelios assisting us with our BBQ. The hosts were always ready to help with anything we needed. The villa itself was stunning — spacious, with an amazing view. The pool was a highlight, large and perfect for relaxing, and it even came equipped with goggles and gear for watersports. Inside, the villa had an amazing games room with a pool table, PlayStation, Smart TV, and much more to keep everyone entertained. Overall, a truly unforgettable experience, thanks to Theodora’s hospitality.

Away from the tourist areas, in a small village in the middle of the island. A car is definitely necessary, to the beach in the south about 20 km, Chania about 1 hour's drive away. authentic and cozy little apartment, we felt very comfortable. We didn't need TV and if you know when checking in that turning the key to the right "lock" is the other way around, you can get in faster than we did. Kostas responds quickly to questions and we recommend the accommodation.
