Family-friendly holiday rentals in Karlstad

The property is perfect for a vacation in a larger group. We were a total of 15 people and were able to spend a wonderfully snowy New Year's Eve there. Johan and Linnéa always responded quickly to questions both during and before arrival and were thus always able to help us quickly. All in all, a great place to stay and very great hosts.

We had a wonderful stay in a beautiful large and well maintained house, beautifully detached overlooking the forest and just a piece of the lake (with swimming beach) to be seen from the house. This house was also easy to use with a wheelchair! The house has many amenities for extensive cooking, large fridge, freezer, good oven and microwave. Large terraces to sit. Two bathrooms, although we couldn't get the large bath to work well (but we didn't come for that). The house is very quiet, at the same time within fifteen minutes drive a great supermarket, half an hour from Årjäng, and within an hour drive from Karlstad. It takes a while to find the starting point, but there are all kinds of beautiful hiking trails nearby (with beautiful wild plants, insects and other animals). Kjell-Åke is a friendly host and can be approached directly with questions. Only improvement: the cabinets are full of personal clothes, so there is too little closet space for your own clothes.

Our five days staying in this charming, remodeled Swedish house could not have been more fantastic. While looking for my Swilson Swedish grandmother‘s roots, I felt like I was taken back in time. Thank you so much for allowing us the privilege of staying here. And did I mention the great hot tub! Thank you, Berndhard.

Our visit as a resident in the Pavilion. We were adults and children who stayed there to-sun. Large areas both inside and outside, clean and tidy, own large patio with large lawn for play. Sauna and wood fired sauna for about 4 people. Good parking next door, walking distance to fishing area and also to the bath with small beach, jetty and diving tower. Good communication with Johan before and upon arrival as well as was quickly available if we were missing anything during the stay. Cozy environment. We are 20 very happy guests who will surely come back. Top marks from us

We feel incredibly fortunate to have stayed in Kristina’s house during our quiet family vacation in Sweden! The house and the garden are absolutely charming, filled with flowers and candles that create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This is truly a family home, not only equipped with everything you need for a long stay, but also furnished and decorated with such care and love that you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. The surrounding woods and lakes are perfect for hiking, foraging, meditation, and relaxation. Kristina and her son Alexander were wonderful hosts, making our stay even more enjoyable.

We had a wonderful long weekend at Håkan's country house. It was magical to wake up with the nice view, sit on the terrace and barbecue on the brilliant barbecue table and take one bath after time in the sauna. Good beds and very well equipped kitchen. Everything you need and then some. The little boat ride (a few minutes) out was a nice bonus. Good capacity and easy to drive the boat.

Really nice stay - perfect that we had to bring dogs. Was a good fit for the description and it was in a nice setting.

To say we had a nice stay would be an understatement! The accomidation is so lovely and we had an amazing vacation. The pool deck is even nicer than you might think from the pictures. The pool costs a little extra (120€ for the week as of 2022), which would have been nice to write in the listing. Given the pool is heated and has to be maintained the cost is understandable though of course. The next grocery store is about 15min by car and the next bigger town about 40 to 50min. Given how nice the house is you might not want to leave though :) We had a lot of fun taking the SUP and the canoe out to the lake, we even had the chance to do this with our little dogs for the very first time, so that was a really great experience. There is even a grill, which Linda and Peter were kind enough to let us borrow. All basic spices, oils and such were also there to borrow. The surrounding forrest is beautiful too and there were plenty of mushrooms to pick. Lastly two things worth noting (These werent issues for us but might be worth knowing for others). Both the pool deck and the garden are not fenced in, so if you have small kids or dogs you will have to keep an extra eye out. And the larger beds in the main house are in separate rooms but the rooms are only separated by a curtain. Again, these were really non issues when you take into account how lovely the rest of the place was! So, thank you again for letting us stay here, Linda and Peter!

The location of the great property in the midst of beautiful nature and the comfort of the house are really absolutely extraordinary. The contact with the hosts was very friendly and familiar and we felt very well taken care of at all times. Thank you for the great time and we will be happy to come back!

We spent 3 nights in Lone's apartment. It was fresh, clean and cozy. It was also close to hiking and nature experiences. We enjoyed the apartment and everything worked as it should! Easy to check in and check out! We'll be more than happy to come back!

We were 13 people on a family trip and we had a great time. It's spacious inside without being cramped. Outside, there is a large garden and jetty, so here it was set for play, swimming, SUP and rowing. Here it is peaceful and here you will be peaceful. Here you can enjoy beautiful sunsets over the water and plenty of hiking opportunities.

Idyllic, beautiful cabin with lots of space both inside and outside for our big family. There was both clean and a homey feeling with the possibility of borrowing board games when it rained and canoeing and rowboat when the weather was better. Highly recommend.

Cozy cabin, nice surroundings. Great contact with the host, easy to reach and communicate with. Beautiful lake to swim in, just a short walk from the cottage.

A house with history that is beautifully renovated. Very idyllically located in nature. We felt very comfortable and enjoyed the tranquility.

We experienced our stay as very nice. The cottage is cute and cozy and all that is needed is present. The beds have good mattresses, in short, recommended as far as we are concerned! The host Richard also responds very quickly to questions.

This is a fantastic house for big groups. Plenty of space, both indoors and out, and really well equipped. We enjoyed all the indoor games (pool, table tennis , darts…) and we made good use of the boat. The fire pit is amazing!! This was our second stay here and we would definitely like to come back! The only slight downside was the cost of the electricity which gets charged at the end. It seemed quite a lot to be paying SEK 250/day but it’s probably due to the heating of the pool (which we also enjoyed!).

Adorable cottage/pool house with everything you need, situated in a quiet area of Sweden. There is the most beautiful and peaceful lake just 5 minutes from the house, amongst the forest. I recommend!

Jonas and his family's house is fantastic. My family and I celebrated New Year's in their house and we had a fantastic long weekend there. We were out in the woods walking the area every day and in the evenings we cooked big dinners in the kitchen and had meals in the beautiful dining room. It is a very nice house that is so beautifully renovated and we all enjoyed the house very much. 😊 I recommend everyone to go there and just relax for a few days!
